Honestly I don't mean to sound rude or perhaps insulting but you are the one not seeing the sense in what he wrote. First like he said it's not workable. Aside from the fact that the money is small a reward which is excusable. How can you discover the cure for a virus in proxy. Everyone is running away from it, you stop importation of goods from there, shut down their supermarket in Abuja just so that it won't get into the nation and then you said we should get their cure. Honestly I think some of these people take us for been stupid. One must get the virus and patients (plural) to work work before one can discover a vaccine.

Secondly, it's just irritating, so appealing the way the supposedly distinguished minister of science and technology thinks. We'll have lassa, ebola, etc you don't announce a reward and a cure but far away in Asia you are trying to solve their own problems (meanwhile Australian scientists with resources far beyond ours are way ahead of us). I did not even know we had electron microscopes in any university. Tell me can DNA of viruses be sequenced in Nigeria. How can Nigerian scientist make research to find cure, when there are zero research facilities? Keep dreaming in Nigeria. Nigeria and Africa do not have the research capacity to provide cure to any disease. We are always at the mercy of other nations.

If China with many prolific researchers could not solve the problem yet despite the fact that they are sophisticated. I will just advise any Nigerian scientist based in Nigeria not to sweat over an impossible mission for them.
