Please enough of all this argument back and forth about nigerians and who or what we are or aren't. Open another thread for that. This thread is for those who still wish to have their babies in this US. Anything outside this is spamming.

I agree. Mums can still have their babies in the US...so long as that was not their primary reason for getting the visa.

MamaOO:

Uhmmm, sorry to break it to you, but this is the World Wide Web aka the Internet. You can’t tell people what pages they can open, where they can be or what they can post, or police their thought process. Unless you’re Seun Osewa. Let people talk, sip the tea if you want or spit it if it’s not good enough. People are gonna talk, regardless

I disagree....websites can be and are actively "policed"....even NL has rules.....all 22 of them!!! I believe some posts here are in violation of rule 2.....

Abuse, bullying, insults...we are adults and don't need to resort to name calling to make a case or argument. We have different view points but can be civil in discussing them.

If some posts are a violation of NLs posting guidelines then report those posts and the mods will do the needful to either ban or warn the poster.

But telling people not to comment or come on this thread if they’re not pregnant or seeking to have a baby in the US is an opinion that won’t fly. There’s no rule on NL restricting where people can post their opinions, they only ask people to be respectful and follow the posting rules. So far, a lot of people have been respectful with their comments. Just because it’s not what you wanna hear doesn’t mean people are gonna stop talking about it or you can stop them from talking about it.

Referring to the comment in bold.... NL rule 1 talks about not posting off topic. The topic of the thread is birthing in the US costs and procedures. If truly the thread is no longer relevant, legit or kosher it can/should be closed. Interested folks can open a Naija Bashing Thread and make their comments there on the eternal corruption of the country and decadence of its people...I'm sure it would do very well. But anything other than the discussion of the topic here is a violation of NL rule 1 (as I understand it). Which I am right now guilty of.... apologies! smiley

I made the comment in bold. When it became obvious that rather than share info on the topic of this thread, people were busy arguing up and down about the legitimacy or otherwise of who Nigerians are or arent and whether trump did this or that. That is not the purpose of this thread. Pls open another thread for that, we will come and read and even contribute. Right now, lets focus on the topic of this thread, that is if theres still anything to discuss about it.

Memorial hermann is an excellent hospital.

I know , I had my son in memorial southwest but being d best doesn’t renew visa na cos we are stl affected in the discount saga

My question is, has anyone successfully renewed after paying d discount in itemised bill
Thank you

The hospital you used is the least of your concerns. There are plenty of examples here of folks who have been successful in renewing their visas after reimbursement of their discounts, regardless of the hospital used.

Exactly, the thread still says :cost and procedure..so people will continue to come and ask questions as regards birthing in the USA for cost and procedure..if not,let them change the threads topic and everyone will be fine..

So i had 2 kids with my visa, reapplied last year and was refused, went ahead to contact the hospitals to refund all the outstanding discounts given. Also applied to the UK Embassy and i was declined too, someone informed me that they contacted the American Embassy to know the reason for the rejected visa and that led to the UK refusal. I have paid all outstanding discounted bill, not sure if i should go back to the American Embassy or British. I work, i honestly have no intentions of overstaying my visa or having another child. Just want to go for summer with the family

Did you use the right Visa to birth your 2kids??
Did you violated your first Visa??
I think these you help you think of reasons why you were denied. I don't know how UK visa works but you might want to review that too

I used the B1/B2 Visa for the birth of both kids, i declared my intention for childbirth before I had both, never over stayed my visa. I didn't violate the 1st visa. I think it was because of the discount i was denied.

I also think the refusal might be because of the discount and maybe they felt you were trying to have another baby. I however doubt it might have anything to do with the UK visa refusal. Uk visa is straight forward. If you have all your documents complete and you satisfy the officer your reasons for travelling are geniune, your visa will be granted. Review the reasons UK gave you as the basis for refusal, work on those reasons and try again. As long as your past US visa was not misused, no other country can deny you a Visa solely because of a past visa refusal from another country. Now that you have been able to pay back your discount, why not try and reapply for the US visa. Or better still, wait and let the dust settle in the american embassy, try other countries for vacation. Schengen countries, read back the UK visa refusal note that was given to you and see how you can adjust with the reasons given. You see, i like the UK visa application process, they will tell you exactly yhe reason why you are being denied.

Hi, no. I didn't get a place. Just loads of people emailing me with no tangible advice (they just want to gist lol)

But i am currently staying in what is known as an extended inn. Just google you will find ones around. I believe i mentioned the name of the one i am staying in but for some reason Nairaland has removed it.

Very close to supermarkets malls like Walmart CVS and co.

I will advice anyone coming to Dallas to bring their car seat and stroller along. I dunno why i listened to my husband now i have to get these things here again thoigh i have a perfectly good functioning one back home. Lol.

Forgot to mention in Extended Inns you have bring your own bedsheet pillow and pillow cases pots and towels.
And i am paying about $1,200 a month. Hope this helps.

To all seeking visa, may God's perfect will be accomplished
To all pregnant moms safe delivery
To all searching for general info on moving to US good luck.

To the bolded why not look for the one that will supply all those. Eg in long-stay hotels in Houston they have pots, change our towels, bedsheets, etc and clean the room twice a week .you can even get more toiletries from the office. They have free internet, phone to make local calls free.
All these for the same price you already have.
