Why changing names up and down? Does it mean he doesn't know his name?

The publication of the change of name cost less the 5k. Nothing stops him from chosen preferably names out of these numerous name and apply for a change of name. But he was too daft to understand the implication of these numerous names while contesting for the deputy governor of the state. The lesson must be learned by anybody who uses different names at various stages of his/her life.

The allows for CHANGE OF NAME. Even biblical fellows changed names at different stages of their lives. This dumb man didn't just care to swear an affidavit to back the changes. Using different names is not the problem but not swearing affidavit for change of name.

However, If you take a critical look, he was somehow trying to shorten his long name too. Though the last add was useless. I think the APC team cared less by not taking cognizance and necessary action as regards the screening of his credentials due to these incongruous inconsistencies. They just felt Buhari was there for them. Mofo they are!

Only God knows what the problem was for that 'aborted' dep gov.
I answered my uncle's name up till master's degree level before I changed to my father's name in 2002, because he took me to school -I was six then. The teacher that attended to us simply asked, ' is he your child baba?' He said yes. He got his name and attached it to my first name. That was it. Was he not my father after all? How dare you say your father's elder brother is not your father in Yoruba land, even as a child?

My father had brought me to live with with his immediate elder brother and returned to his base abroad. Court affidavit and newspaper publication did it all. I recall that one letter was also missed from that my uncle's name which was placed on my primary school leaving certificate. Does it mean I forged it? There are pieces of other evidence I could use if anything...

I think the 'aborted' dep gov actually was culpable otherwise he would have perfected all his papers and nothing would have removed him and his knocked-out principal.

thy didn't tell us

You don't need anyone to tell you.

If he did it(swearing of affidavit, newspaper advert etc) and it's legally binding, it wouldn't have been a case. So many people have changed name in the past and some have occuppied, while some are still occupying political (sensitive) posts.
Just like married women doing change of names etc.

Hi!! Pls am new here and I created this account to enable me ask you a question. It is as regards the irregularity you had with your name in college. I actually have the same issue as you had i.e my registering WAEC officer abbreviating my middle name for the same reason as yours. I decided then to continue using the name for consistency sake both for my JAMB and university admission. Now am done with Uni, but the university's Senate refused to add the abbreviated middle name on my Statement of Result, for which I don't blame them anyway. So I went to manually register for NYSC and I was told the name on my JAMB doesn't match that on my Statement of Result. Although I have sworn an affidavit to show both names refer to one person but I don't know how to proceed from there. The officer manually registering us isn't helping out. Pls how did you go about yours?

Most times we overlook some things. We believe they are not really relevant. But they may later come back to give us problem. Carelessness. U had different names in all ur documents. U couldn't go to court to swear to an affidavit and reconcile the discrepancies. Lyon wud never be happy with Degi. Destiny destroyer.

Don't overlook tomorrow.

Even people who change names have proof of name change. I.e the must publish it in the newspaper, so that is already on its own enough evidence.

This guy didn’t even have any evidence that he did a name change at some point or points in his life.

Once you have a sworn affidavit, the officer has no right to denied you of such. If he is still insist, you have to locate the Jamb office near you to rectify d name from there first..

The difference in mine was that my third name was abbreviated in my Waec result same as Jamb but I used d full name on my degree certificate.. While register for my nysc, there was no hinches as I present my sworn affidavit.. Maybe d officer was a different person from yours... If they are given u much headache, just head to Jamb office near you, they will help you out, it just small change.

Then why didnt he do the Affidavit.

You Nigerians are just a true reflection of the government you have.

Go apply for admission and present Neco, WAEC, Jamb with the 3 bearing different names and see who gives you admission with such conflicting names on your credentials. Even a job, nobody gives you job with your Bsc, MSC and PhD certs bearing different names.

You can't do well in Law if you aren't logical.

The Bedrock of LAW is Logic bro.

hi, I have an issue with the arrangement of my names, my surname is being switched with my middle name but all three names are correct and on my documents...... Is that going to be a problem?
