Go and read my replies very well, I did not say he could not be arraigned for abduction but that the case lacks merit if the boy can prove a relationship exists. This should be very easy to prove due to social media and other forms of evidence.

Modified. In the case above the boy should be arrested if it can be proved that he kidnapped the girl. If not, the difference between their ages is not upto 4 so no conviction.

I just have common sense. Pls dont take my word for these. You can do your research on sexual activity minors and consent.

The boy's parent must sue the police. He has been denied schooling, embarrassed publicly and denied his freedom. He committed NO CRIME. He is a minor as well. If he's to be behind bars, they should both be behind bars. Why should the other partner be allowed to walk free?
Why does the law shield women so much and assume they don't know what they are doing.

I'm not abreast with the law in connection to such case but in general, i think the age of responsibility should be around 18 of which the guy is one year shy of, so they're both juveniles and i don't think this is a sexual offense due to the ages of those involved. Despite the MISOGYNISTIC mentality and style of the reporter intimating that this was essentially a manufactured offense by the girls' parents, there's obviously a HUGE chunk of the story missing.

This is NOT a civil action, and thus the parents' complaint is not controlling. Rather, it's a criminal action brought by the State, and the State would not rely solely on the complainants' words to initiate criminal action which has to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

They are both minors. The sex was consensual. There's absolutely no crime. Both families should take their children home and counsel them. This case shouldn't be in court. The police should know better.

I'm not sure where this law exists but if consensual sex between minors is not an offence, why would the result of such an act be a crime? It doesn't make sense to me..

The 17 year old guy should be remanded in correctional facility for juveniles. He abducted that girl a sort of kidnapping and raped her. He is older and no 15 year old gives consent for sexual intercourse. They are both minors admittedly but even minors are remanded for juvenile offenses and misdemeanors.

...Sex in itself is not a crime..it only becomes a crime in certain circumstances. The only thing that can make it crime in the present circumstance is if it was forced on the girl...even then, the boy would only face a juvenile court. He would not have to sign the sex offenders register..
