Buhari and a Apc are useless people, they are the worst thing that has happened to Nigeria, I don't know what will become of Nigeria by 2023,I pray they don't turn Nigeria to Syria or Somalia. By the time they release these horrible guys into the society, I wonder what will become of our country. they are only taking the country from one evil to another. |

TroubleMaker47:was MEND proscribed a terrorist organisation, please lets stop this comparison, how could you compare someone fighting for the emancipation of his people and a killer that just go about killing people without any reason, did MEND kill any body from any part of the world? are we taking anything from North East forcefully and destroying their environment in the process without repair ? |

Northern youths are exhibit A when it comes to docility. If you want to see lost generation of young men and women in large number who have no plans, have accepted their fate, aspire to change nothing, ready to maintain the status quo, come to the North. Southern Youths even try to make noise and challenge the government at all levels. Northern youths have slavish mindset that is why their society is a burden to every Nigerian, they are not ready to confront anything.. pawesome: |

Having used boko Haram to grab power from South and seeing that Northern turn is coming to an end come 2023, Buhari and his Northern cabal are gradually releasing the demons into the society to be used again in 2023 if power returns to South. |

From this paragraph seems it should have been a programme under an agency and not an agency itself... '• to help disintegrate the violent and poisonous ideology that the group spreads as the programme will enable some convicted or suspected terrorists to express remorse over their actions, repent and recant their violent ideology and re-enter mainstream politics, religion and society.' |

Davash222:Bro to be honest with you, the federal government is not negotiating with terrorists. We all know and understand how Boko Haram initiates its members. (They kidnap, torture and make their victims believe in their course). Now, the federal government is trying to workout something through this amnesty program as a strategy to separate those caught in combat from those forced to pickup arms (low-risk combatants). Those captured in combat are processed for prosecution, but the ones that have not been ideologically indoctrinated because they were conscripted, they were abducted, are the ones being rehabilitated. They call them low-risk combatants. Those ones do not buy into Boko Haram agenda; they were forced into it. These repentant members have been assisting the military by providing intelligence on Boko Haram’s activities.” |

Why not Ministry of Boko Haram ? This administration is confused totally ! The fact is that Buhari is sympathetic to boko haram's course. He is a president Nigerians will live to regret for a very long time. |

Facelesscabal:I concur to your thoughts. The BH ranks has been swelled by kidnapped kids and such. They use the women as war brides and the younglings as more soldiers. For the first time since this issue has been brought up, I am just reading that those planned for amnesty fall into that group. If we adopt a mindset of 'kill them all', this war ain't ending soon. If there is a way of giving soft landings to non orients or kidnapped members of the group, cases of combatants dropping their weapons and reporting themselves to the next military post will abound. That then will give info for the layout of their bases and give the soldiers an better plan of attack. If on the other hand they know they are on the death list, this will never happen as they be forced to fight till they drop dead. BH on the other hand will keep 'recritung' either by indoctrination or kidnapping like the attack on chibok which happened a few days ago. The onus on the government now is - how to prove to the public that these ones will no later return to being menaces - give succor to the families of those who lost their lives (soldiers and civilians) that this is a right step to ensure the sacrifices of the dead would not be a waste as this step would end the war fast. - show true determination in taking care of the displaced - work on how radicalism would no more take hold of the hearts of youths in the north and effectively transition the almajiry system - improve the economy in the north as a hood work place - obey the rule of law (the death of Yusuf caused all this wahala) Wisdom is needed here and the govt should not just feel people will readily accept the offer. People are hurt and the government already made a move that speaks insensitivity. They should have approached stakeholders with an explanation ahead of making such a move. I hope the best is done to put all this into our history books VERY soon. |

Davash222:What is boko haram fighting for? Niger deltans are fighting for misuse of their land and resources. This is a clear case of sabotage. Our so called leaders send terrorist to destabilize our economy promising to use money from same economy as payment for job well done. What a shame.l! |

oviexcels:Emancipation is a "cause" MEND believed was worth fighting for. Islamisation is a "cause" Boko Haram felt is worth fighting for. And did you just say MEND didn't have civilian casualties? So MEND where shooting only plastic bullets right? So sabotaging the economy through violence is not an act of terrorism! Look, lets call a spade a spade. Amnesty should have never been granted to any terrorist whether they go by the name MEND or BH. It's wrong, it's disgusting and nauseating! |
