Akanbi, says he remains the Oluwo of Iwoland despite his suspension by the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers.

He said this in a post on his Instagram page on Friday.

The post read, “He was never suspended as Oluwo of Iwoland. The Osun State Traditional Council has only recommended his suspension from the council meetings and activities for six months on the guise that his conduct (being too flashy, stylish, human rights defender and swagging); and that (the suspension) is even subject to Governor’s approval. This clarification is important for the public notice!”

Oluwo Akanbi was on Friday suspended for six months by the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers.

The royal fathers arrived at the decision to suspend Oba Akanbi at their emergency meeting held at Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere, presided over by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

A committee headed by Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun, was also constituted by the council to further investigate the matter involving Oluwo and Obas in Iwo land.

I know this man is very stubborn, instead of him to be remorseful, he is now shouting.

While waiting for the Govs approval, I expect the Gov to take a step further by dismissing this rogue called King that specialise in assaulting people right in the presence of the Commissioner of police in a reconciliation meeting

Even the Ooni and the Aláàfin can't suspend the Olúwo. Only the person who issued the staff of office to traditional ruler can suspend.

The Olúwo may be a miscreant and a bad example but he's right on this.

you are on point but this will go a long way to discredit him and eventually make the State Government consider whether to actually suspend him from the office or otherwise, meanwhile assault is a criminal offence , by now he should have been arrested and granted bail pending his araingnment and prosecution, if found guilty, no one will tell the govt to depose him when he gets to prison.

A disgrace. Obas quarrel and it is not hidden that they point their sticks at each other. They call each other bad names when they quarrel. But the try to conduct themselves with decorum, and ensure that their respective towns do not feel any shame with their wrong public conduct.

This man lacks honor. He is negatively prestigious and his actions are not befitting of an oba. If left alone he could punch the face of the Ooni of Ife or maybe try to attack the Alaafin, Emir of Kano or Oba of Benin.

What innovations is he trying to bring into the obaship system? How would a so called king even punch another king and shamelessly defend it in the public? His people should reject him. The state governor without delay must withdraw his certificate and sake him. Let him carry his swagging to night clubs and start dancing there.

Right now he should be begging the police to allow him go home on bail pending when he appears before a magistrate to beg not to be sent to jail for assault.
