Manatees without sophisticated brains love humans; humans on the otherhand behave like animals, how could they do this to this lovely creature, it's like maltreating a dolphin; honestly some humans need brain reset.

if possible I will even use grenade launcher on the rat. I hate this animal so much since I was a kid I remember driving nail through the skull of a rat caught in rat gum and it started bleeding from the nose and mouth and eyes and ears. I also burnt out the eyes of another one with matches.

Just last week I saw a weakened rat outside my house I buried it alive.
That's right! Well done bro. We are kindred souls. Hunt them wherever you find them. Disgusting creatures but troublesome in nature.

Sometimes, people claim you need to save this animal because the Western world does it. But you’ll go on eating fish of all kind, meats from goat, cow, rabbit, dog etc. Don’t these animals you kill deserve life also rather than feasting on them? I’m not supporting this act against animals but it would be good that before you condemn them you also should check if you do eat animal meats otherwise you’re all in the same category.

A lot of illiterate idiots less than savages inhabit the space called Nigeria.

They are only interested in kill! Eat! Kill Eat!

No innovation, no creativity, just empty skulls. I still suspect that cannibals still exist in Nigeria.

Didn't know I will feel for an animal like this....it's was just too cruel!

The skin would peel. Just like things human and dragging him behind a car. The animal was in pain. It should be punishable by 10 years hard labour

School ke. Must we always push everything to teachers. Kindness should be taught in school but charity begins at home. Its all start with the way we treat the rats, lizards cockroaches etc around us. Most of the animals we see today are not found in schools. So let's start inculcating this in our children at home to be kind to all including animals. U can't be kind to an animal when u ain't even kind to ur fellow human.
Well said

I decided sometime ago, that it is animal cruelty to eat meat. I did the little I could by not eating any form of meat.

Today my health is better for it as I decided never to feed on animal corpses for ever and ever.

So most of you are hypocrites. Stop eating animals if you are serious about your criticisms. Do not kill animals. They have the right to life.

You are free annihilate your specie but for fucck sake, do not hate the demons that feed on your energy if you must feast on other specie.

Dont be a hypocrite. There is no middle ground.

Itan niyen oo, my religion did not forbid me from eating animal oo, na una know the kain bundage una dey give una sef, nobody send una make una no eat meat.

All animal are kill in cruel way in Nigeria... What do you expect when senators/rep and executives rake in millions in bonuses, allowance and salary when the people living in the region couldn't feed daily... If the video was not recorded nothing would have been heard of.. How many times have the govt. done anything or the minister speaks or address the weather condition we are facing now and what measures are set in place?..
Yea, dragging the animal was bad but what can we say? Every meats we eat are killed in a cruel way in this country and how about how police, sars and military treat the citizens got no such attention..
If we can't value human lifes then what can they do to this?.

I don't mean to be offensive, but education, not just formal, but acquiring knowledge is immeasurably valuable. Certain animals are domesticated for meat production. You should have that in your skull. Moreover, it is the cruelty meted upon the Manatee that is the main bone of contention. Thanks.

Vegetarian, shift! This isn't about not eating meat. Abstaining from meat doesn't accord you better health. In fact your health degenerates gradually unknown to you. Research abounds to prove this.
Just eat the right proportion of everything you need including meat and you will be in great shape.

Blame not this people, blame those who entrenched poverty into this society.
How many financially comfortable people will you see struggling to get their share of meat from this?

Nigeria is really such a failed state! It is so sad to realize the level of lack of knowledge, am not even talking about illiteracy, because that is about reading and writing. I can't fathom how people will bring up the "God said we should have dominion over animals" argument for something as barbaric as this act here. Foolish people using religion to be animalistic.

Then the other argument of "There is hunger in the land", like seriously!!? How low have we become, like really, how low? Are the animals the reason why most Nigerians think giving birth to children is an achievement? A situation in which every Tom, Dick and Harry gives birth to more than they can carter for? We wouldn't be so poor if we cut our coat according to our size!!! Over population will always breed poverty, no matter the amount of resources. Couple that with our poor leadership (which is also a symptom of poor ethics and values due to poor parenting due to over population) then Nigeria will always remain backwards and barbaric.

You did that on a sentient being? Did you watch the video of the CAN leader being beheaded by BH? Did you watch the little BH boy shooting that student? If yes, simply thread the path of love next time.

The morale is: nothing goes for nothing. It always comes back! When its payback time, you find Names and bloods people love to plead and call doesn't

Nigeria's environment ministry has launched an investigation after a video emerged of an endangered manatee, also known as a sea cow, being dragged along a dusty road by a group of young men.

Deputy Environment Minister Sharon Ikeazor branded the video "very distressing", and said officials were trying to rescue the creature.

So glad deputy minister Sharon Ikeazor is determined to get to the bottom of this. It is vital officials in Nigeria begin effort to find the truth of so many horrors posted online purporting to be from Nigeria. I’m of the belief many stories are matters not Nigeria but attributed Nigeria by those bent on besmirching the image of the country no end for political mileage, racial and international malice or for economic advantage. Nigeria gains from investigating the veracity of the matter so that if a certain story is true and Nigerian we tackle the situation, learn and make amends, if not Nigeria then we can dispel the lies and further expose the dangerous online fake trends.

I first heard of this animal on Sunday on CNN, and I said that this one wouldn't survive in Nigeria, boy was I right!
If anybody gets a new disease from eating strange wild animals, the government should execute that person and not spend our resources treating him/her.
