Don't carry fresh vegetables. Make sure it's you buying the stuff you are traveling with. No noodles, Knott cubes, dried meat or anything meat. You MUST declare you have foodstuff.

Not a problem normally. Where did you say in your application you were going to stay, and did you say yes to knowing someone in the US? Not a big deal though, but let's just know.

Answers the question of CBP in Dublin Ireland

More than 600 US law enforcement officers are stationed at 15 locations around the world checking travel documents, passports, visas and making sure travellers abide by strict customs and agriculture importation rules.
In total 18m people went through the pre-clearance system around the world last year - 15% of all commercial air travellers flying into the US.
Ireland is the only European country with pre-clearance facilities.
Its pre-clearance operations take place in Dublin and Shannon airports - a deal between the US and Ireland dates back to 1986, with the County Clare airport offering only immigration checks initially.
Last year, border officials processed about 1.18m people in Dublin and 204,000 people in Shannon.
These outposts are a little bit of America in Ireland - the staff are all American, there are stars and stripes everywhere and even the vending machines are distinctly American.
After filling in security and customs forms, scanning passports and fingerprints, passengers can gleefully skip past the long immigration queues upon arrival, pick up their bags and go when in US Airports
They are effectively treated as domestic arrivals and Dublin Airport says the whole process can save passengers at least two hours.

They have 8 of such facilities in Canada alone I think, I used the one at YYZ lately. About 15 or 16 worldwide currently.

Yes, Abu Dhabi is not really good for a first time traveler to U.S unless you're so sure of yourself, they're very strict.

My first travel to the U.S was through Abu Dhabi in 2015. You must be confident of your purpose of traveling as I saw some people in the deportation room. Chai, same for Doha, Qatar there's a pre-clearance facility went through there in 2016 and planning to go through there next month.

There's no Preclearance facility in Doha, Qatar.
what you went through is extra checks.
Please check CBP website.

Hi guys!
Came in via Houston last night!
Poe was smooth! I think confidence is the key! The cbp guy was just send ppl before me for secondary inspections!
I got there and he asked me 3 questions.

1.Purpose of visit
2.What do i do
3. How long am I staying!
He stamped me in for 6 months( August)! The visa status was both B1/B2 even when i said it was B1 purpose.
I made research and i learnt B1 status automatically allows you do B2 activities.

No I don't think so, apart from the Airline manifest, they tag your passport electronically at the airport.

I came into USA last December via IAH
I brought kanda, knorr cubes, dry fish, stock fish, oha, ugba, all seeds for making soups grounded. I went to secondary for inspection but nothing was removed and I was allowed to go
So it really depends on the cbp officer
I didn’t spend more than 4mins

Being sent to Secondary Inspection is quite different from going through Agriculture. Seems you were sent to the latter and not the former. Correct me if I'm wrong however....

Okay. What happened at Secondary Inspection please? They checked your bags for what you brought in, nothing was removed, and you were asked to go, and that was all?

That was agriculture, you didn't carry what they were looking for.

Secondary was because it’s immigrant visa
Collected my package and confirmed my address . I wasn’t searched
Agriculture was because I agreed I had kanda but when I got there after scanning was told to go nothing was removed.

That's the full story, thought it was on non immigrant visa.

I landed on Monday morning, directly from Lagos and I didn't spend up to 30 minutes in the airport. I wasn't even tested. Although, my passport was scrutinised and I was specifically asked if I have been to the UK recently. I don't use a standard passport tho, so I joined a special line.
