Good day and happy weekend house. Please, what could be responsible for this yellow patches on these pepper plants.
I can feel your pain right away. Time, energy, treatments, etc. Get an experience farmer to help you set up your nursery when next you intend to. There are many methods you can employ to aid the germination of your seeds. Pepper seeds are more difficult to break dormancy than tomatoes.

how did you handle whiteflies on such a large farm?

Early detection but we have been lucky the incidence was low. We have had to spray once.

But I have trained 2 of my workers on how to spot them, so they do a random walk through the farm every 2 days.

I've heard from farmers in my area, that south westerners dont patronize big rodo pepper like avenir, etna etc.. they claim chemical applications makes it big in size and they prefer smaller sized pepper which is mainly the local opv pepper, pls farmers in the house, how true this?? what's your experience?? Fmcash, farmtech ogbongonet
some area appreciate it, if it's pepperish. It's also advisable you take it to mile 12

Like two years ago, the pepper seller opposite dambold filling station funaab use to buy(offtake) avenir from ogun osun

I once bought etna f1 pepper and on the sachet it was written plant will produce 63 days after transplant.. I'm a little bit suprised yours hasn't produced flower yet.. I'm sure by now you should be seeing buds on them, or maybe the time frame given aren't always reliable afterall, I've been removing flowers from my local opv.. just a week or two after transplant and I've also been told to prune the tip of the y branch to get a bigger plant

I'm a bit relieved I planted both efia and local variety, ... I heard even efia is considered big rodo.. I'm aware mile12 market patronize big rodo.. but for now, I wont be going there, not until i have my tomato farm... major markets I'm looking at are ifo, itori, kuto, etc They're all in Ogun state

I've started seeing buds, gradually the flowers will come out. Several factors can change those dates, so I think they would be estimates.
I planted several varieties when avenier F1 started fumbling. I have a mixture of efia, super habaneros and piquante red F1. We have transplanted the efia and the super habaneros, both are younger than the avenier F1. We will ne transplanting the piquante red in 2 weeks.

We did not prune our peppers.

ok, nice work... what issue did you encounter with the avenir f1??.. for me i kept getting damping off issues with efia pepper.. and I'm not sure I'll be planting this variety after this year

Seems the seeds were stale in the market, had an expiration date of 2020. I dont know if that was it, but no matter how hard we tried, it just didnt grow.

I even used tissue culture. So I moved to efia. I did this pepper project last year and it flopped. So i had old efia seeds, which expired Sept 2019. Surprisingly they grew like wild fire.

I contacted east west seeds for more and they were out of stock, tried to get more but no distributor had efia.

So I got opv from bakker brothers. Total disaster as well, none grew.

Got super habaneros as we were behind schedule, the germination was outstanding as well. But they were too expensive so we could not continue with them.

The east west seeds contacted back that piquante red was available. These grew very well as well.

I've wasted lot of money on technisem seeds and they disappointed me, I'm sticking with east west seeds.

You might not get efia again as the contact from east west says they are no longer ger producing it but replacing it with piquante red.

We did not have any damping off issues and we did not spray any fungicides. Lucky us.

Where is your farm, I would not mind to come for lessons o.

Thank God they have stop efia for a good hybrid. I encountered stem rot due to heavy rain fall last season to efia

Did you nurse them with tomato seeds?

Oh I see, seeds were gotten from open-source. Reason for the few tomato seeds.
Understandable.

this looks like local opv, I may be wrong.. I dont believe anyone who planted hybrid will leave it open.. this is how local farmers in my area do their nursery... though it's quite economical.. and it leads to healthy competition btw plants.. Goodwork

Good day,I went to farm today and noticed that some of my plant are wilting, and some have already died due to wilting,I didn't see any sign of insects and the root looked healthy when I uprooted it.I am presently using rain hose irrigation.I would like your opinion on how to avoid it ,or stop this thing although it only affected my rodo pepper not my chilli

I had this problem as well,.. but I believe this is a problem that occurred from transplant.. it may be the plant could not adjust to the hash temperature or it didnt get enough water or you used chemical fertilizers during transplant

its definitely one of the above

Its been about two month after transplanting, in fact its beginning to bear it first set of fruits.it definitely doesn't have anything to do with transplanting
