Someone said she is was already in U.S with B1/B2 and just discovered she is pregnant. Will she be able to give birth based on the new rules?

Is she trying to stay to give birth? if yes...sure she can. If she's planing to go to Nigeria and come back (and the visa is meant for tourism), entry is very unlikely because she would be at the late stage of the pregnancy and reference would be made to her intent during the visa interview. Good luck.

If she just discovered that she’s pregnant, that means she’s still early. How does she intend to carry to term and birth all in 6 months (because you’re stamped in for 6 months. She’d be overstaying if she spends more than 6 months and risks a ban)

Plus doesn’t she work? How do you stay away from work for 6 months?

lol!...We're talking about Nigeria here...how many women actually work for companies...most will say they have their own businesses and so can afford to be flexible with working schedules. cheesy

I replied, childbirth and tourism (i have b1/b2 visa)
3 what hospital and how long are you staying?
Said Emory hospital and im staying less than 3months.

This new birth tourism rule does it affect people already with B1/B2 visas or only those with new visas?. I am getting confused.

You cannot apply for a tourist Visa for the express purpose of maternity tourism but Citizenship by Birth is still legal and protected under The Constitution.

I’ve been following this lady on Quora. She’s a former visa officer. Birth tourism still exists BUT you can’t get a visa now solely on grounds of birthing in the US.

I’ve been a lurker for a long time and been following this page for a while. So nah here be my own story!

Got a regular tourist visa, no issues as I’ve traveled to USA.

Got my visa. Flew from Lagos connected to London heathrow.
I was already 4 months and got was arriving same day as the Nigeria ban was issued. undecided
I tried to wear clothes not too revealing to hide my belly.
Arrived at Washington Dulles.
Asked what is my purpose? Visiting a family member.
How long do you intend to stay? Said a couple weeks
Do you have any food? I said no.
Then He stamped my visa.

Omo I was so scared of what the stamp would be. He gave me 6 months!!! Perfect!! I was so happy.
My box wasn’t checked everything came through.

Mary Immaculate Hosp fees CS $6,500
Vaginal $4200
Aneasth
$500 for epidural for vaginal delivery
$650 for spinal for CS

Center For Women’s Health
Dr fee $2,800

Blood work tests $250

Male baby Circumcision is $300.

Hospital fees include newborn care, food, and most expenses.
The house was about 30 minutes to the doctors office and hospital. Housing was $80 a day.

Thanks to everyone who gave advice what to say etc.
I highly recommend doing blood tests, anatomy scan in Nigeria to save on most tests here in USA. If you know no one connect with recommendations here. I’m happy to help also. Inbox me.

Uber is available here too. For baby paperwork apply for an appointment for passport.

Abeg discount no Dey illegal as long as you show full payment.

Tiri Gbosa for you madam! Well done. More grease to your elbow. You’re 4 months pregnant, you said you’re staying for a couple weeks, visiting a friend. I hope you Sha know that all your answers are the POE will be visible to the next visa officer that interviews you when you try and renew that visa. Safe delivery.
