DDG post-2018 World Cup is a shadow of his former self. The one against Everton just gathered more attention because of the way it happened and brought his gk challenges to the forefront.

That error was 100% luck. It’s not like Sunday was the first time Gks allow opposition player to close them down before picking out a pass. Calvert Lewin was just lucky. EOD.

2004-2006 - Brilliant goalkeeper. Rated top 3 in the world thanks to playing behind a wall of defense and the best defensive coach at that time.

2007-2013 - Just a very good keeper nothing exceptional after his head injury. Made blunders in Euros 2008 and Euros 2012 . Was great in Chelsea 2012 Champions league campaign but in general had lost the aura of invincibility.


2013-2019 - Not even a stand out keeper in the Premier league, became a liability for Arsenal and was finished at 33.

First things first, how will he have a good game in Spain wen we all know the first choice was casillas. Is like someone downgrading Ederson now cos he isn't keeping for Brazil. Casillas was their number 1 keeper through out his peak, so he can't just displace him like that. At least, ter stegen can testify.

2ndly, from 2013-2017 was he's peak form, and since that time, he was almost head and shoulder above all man u players in performance. For a keeper to be player of the season for 2 consecutive years for man u aiming for top 4(not relegation), says more about that keeper.

Saying he's not half as good is cech in performance is pure fallacy!!!
