WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT US and Thai troops have been seen tearing snakes and geckos apart as they learn jungle survival techniques during the annual Cobra Gold camp in Chanthaburi, southeastern Thailand

US and Thai troops have torn the heads off snakes and drunk their blood in a disgusting ritual during training.

Soldiers are learning how to survive in the jungle, and also peeled the skin from geckos before eating them alive.

It is happening at a training camp in Chanthaburi, in southeastern Thailand, news.com reports .

It comes despite concern that the coronavirus outbreak is linked to the consumption of wild animals.

Photos show troops drinking snake blood as they learn how to survive in hazardous situations.

They are participating in the Cobra Gold camp, which has been carried out annually since 1982.

During the training they learn what plants it is safe to eat, and what to do if they become separated from their unit.

Marines were told that drinking animal blood can help them to stay hydrated.

US Army Brigadier General Josh Rudd said: "Cobra Gold is a tremendous opportunity to reinforce the relationship with the Kingdom of Thailand and the Royal Thai forces."

And following a beach assault exercise carried out by troops, he added: "We had some different capabilities this year with the Marine F-35 and its tremendous capabilities and a great opportunity to have it part of this amphibious assault exercise."

But, they're well trained when it comes to oppressing innocent civilians.

I'll just say the are snakes everywhere, not just as reptiles, but some in human form

And I'm sure most people have at some point been bitten

So disgusting and hair raising.

I don't understand the ritual part. Why dub this a "ritual" when the purpose is clearly stated in the above post. It is a survival tactic. Not a mere ritual.

I have seen thilose pictures like over a million times and read articles on this like a billion times. I even had a video on it on my phone. And in all these materials, it is clearly stated that the idea is to help the trainees cope without water.

So, why are all these ignorant people labelling them as rituals

Let me shock you all: There are parts of Africa where people drink goat blood in order to stay hydrated due to lack of water. I know somebody who went to a remote part of South Sudan and told me clearly that he had no choice but to drink blood from slaughtered goats just because water got scarce.

Many of y'all don't know nothing... simple.

The idea is not to stop bullets. The idea is to stop thirst. If there is no water you drink blood and condition your body to get used to it.
