Yungbrym:you're using spray tubes for veggies?? |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by Psalmy2cute(m): 9:35pm On Mar 08, 2020 |
Yungbrym:did you treat for nematodes? there are other soil borne diseases that couldve caused this |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by Yungbrym: 9:43pm On Mar 08, 2020 |
Psalmy2cute:I just started like 3 weeks ago,it was drip initially, but the temperature was just to high,I'll stick to the drip for now |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by Yungbrym: 9:45pm On Mar 08, 2020 |
Psalmy2cute:What I'm seeing on google correlates to bacterium, fusarim, verticullum wilt..Nome of those sound goods as they are only preventable not curable |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by Psalmy2cute(m): 9:55pm On Mar 08, 2020 |
Yungbrym: most soil borne diseases can only be prevented,.. curing it is out of the question.. I cannot help but feel like I've seen what you're experiencing on your pepper farm on someone else's tomatoes farm.. and I believe Nematicide could've done the job |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by FarmTech(m): 9:37pm On Mar 09, 2020 |
Yungbrym:. It is probably a soil-borne disease. It affected mine too, though not much. I just uproot them and dispose outside the farm. When they dry, I burn them up. This can minimize spreading. |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by FarmTech(m): 9:57pm On Mar 09, 2020 |
Yungbrym:. Do u mean that drip was not good BC of high temperature? |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by FarmTech(m): 9:58pm On Mar 09, 2020 |
Psalmy2cute:. Is it bad? |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by Psalmy2cute(m): 10:43pm On Mar 09, 2020 |
FarmTech:i wouldn't say it's bad.. but I'm just wondering why spray tubes when drip is more affordable and plants like pepper, tomatoes etc to like their leaves getting wet |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by veggieman2be(m): 11:56pm On Mar 09, 2020 |
jidestroud: Yea bro. As I stated they are opv from Benue and Benin republic that is why few tomatoe are there. |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by veggieman2be(m): 12:02am On Mar 10, 2020 |
Psalmy2cute: Yes bro is opv. Which improved local or hybrid can I use during the raining season because I heard hybrid don't survive the rain, how true is that |

Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by OluchiDelly: 10:20am On Mar 10, 2020 |
veggieman2be: Pls I need this Benin rep variety, how can u be of help. The fruits are smaller, that's the demand of my markets here. |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by Psalmy2cute(m): 10:44am On Mar 10, 2020 |
OluchiDelly:the fruits are not small o... for what I've seen I'll say they're the normal size of what a pepper should be.. they also grow very tall.. |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by OluchiDelly: 11:45am On Mar 10, 2020 |
Psalmy2cute: There are medium size opv, and also ones a little below medium size, usually oblong...that's d Cotonou type. If I can get samples, I will.post it here. |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by veggieman2be(m): 12:44pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
OluchiDelly: Am yet to transplant. After transplanting I will get back in touch with you to talk about how you can get them. |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by Psalmy2cute(m): 12:52pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
OluchiDelly:"oblong" that's exactly it.. wheres your location?? I know someone you can purchase this nursery pepper plant |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by veggieman2be(m): 12:57pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
The Cotonue man that gave me the seeds told me he lost all his seedlings that they all dried up about 4 different nurseryg beds also the roots have something like balls entangled he said if you transplant such pepper with that kind of root that it will never do well. My questions are 1. What are the causes because they don't know the cause but when he visited my site he was wowed by the germination and disease free seedlings. 2. Can fungicide be applied on nursery bed |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by Psalmy2cute(m): 1:04pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
veggieman2be:balls on the root? that's nematodes.. the soil was infected and they should have used Nematicide on the soil before making the nursery bed.. or even still, sterilising the soil would have done the work 1 Like |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by veggieman2be(m): 1:43pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
Psalmy2cute: How much is Nematicide and how do I apply or use it on the soil before broadcasting. Thanks |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by veggieman2be(m): 1:51pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
veggieman2be: Though what I did was burn fire as suggested by @Okoroemeka I then pile the left over allow sun to heat the spot then m I think the next day in the evening I tilledd the place. More info on what I did is on my messages on my trend |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by Psalmy2cute(m): 2:34pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
veggieman2be:you already stabilized your soil if that's the case |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by OluchiDelly: 2:50pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
veggieman2be:Am not talking about the seedlings, but the seeds pls i need it badly, I have bn searching to purchase it. All markets here really crave for the Cotonou variety. Though the fruits are smaller than avenir and co, they assume all big fruits are not peppery |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by OluchiDelly: 3:06pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
veggieman2be:The popular one is furadan. Its sold less than 1.5k per kg. Its tiny granules like ewedu seeds. When you finished dressing your bed, broadcast it same way u broadcast ewedu seed. Slightly incorporate it in by using rake, then wet it after or before applying your seed. |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by OluchiDelly: 3:29pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
Psalmy2cute: Ife. Its the seed I need. I prefer doing nursery myself. |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by Psalmy2cute(m): 3:41pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
OluchiDelly:ok |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by okoroemeka(m): 5:21pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
OluchiDelly:you don't have to look further this is how Cameron variety looks like,it's smaller than avenir ,spicier and easy to get instead than avenir, the pic below is two nurserys we did same time on 50 gram avenir and other 20 gram Cameron pepper, after more than two weeks no single avenir germinated, zero germination, but the Cameron pepper has 85% germination,I think the results is there for everyone to see.

okoroemeka: oga okoroemeka when was this nursery done? cause my recent pepper nursery is 8 days old today (Avenir) and at around 40% germination |
Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by okoroemeka(m): 8:29pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
Intendy:my brother I don't know what is wrong, almost going to 2 weeks now not even 1 seed germinated, this is so frustrating,I guess the avenir seed is now Russian roulette,so batch germinates ,some don't. |
