Why don't Nigerians think of Namibia or Cape Verde in the light of abroad relocation?

Hi guys!

I and a friend are looking to migrate to the same country by January 2021 via post-graduate studies and we don't want to make the wrong decision. Your advice would be appreciated.

We've narrowed the countries down to three (U.S, Canada, and the U.K.). Although the dream country is the U.S., we're looking for one out of these three that is;

A. Easy to get a job in and stay back after graduation (with a high chance of getting a residence permit)

B. Relatively inexpensive (Although cost would not be a big issue, but the easier it is to get funding and GA positions, the better)

Quick profile of the two of us;

Person A studied Geology

Person B studied History and International Studies

I'm aware those in the STEM field have a higher chance of getting jobs and it's difficult to get a H1-B U.S Visa (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Given the recent change in U.S. immigration laws, which one of these three countries do we stand the highest chance of getting jobs and residing after studies?

Please advise.

Thank you very much!

Can this get to the front page, please? I need as many contributions as I can get. Thanks.

I would advise you both go for Canada. You stand more chances especially now that the country is in need of foreigners. There are lots of opportunities right now and after graduating you have some time to secure a job which I know you should be able to secure one. Just leave the UK out of it.

Uk is the best option here. Boris announced in recent past that graduates can further stay two years for greener pastures after graduation. Choose UK

With the recent stance of the US Immigration policies, the USA should not be in your list for now.

When it comes to getting your PR after your studies, I think Canada is the best, but my friend it is damn expensive studying as an international student in Canada.

Canada, Canada, Canada should be on your list now.

The USA..current political realities and immigration policies makes it a long shot.

UK.. They'll will send you an e-mail immediately after your PG studies and ask you to go home immediately.

UK Masters is more affordable. Their visa process is not as stringent as Canada or US. After your PG studies, you can then explore means of relocating to Canada via a Phd or PR program. As for USA, I don't think looking in that direction for now is advisable. Don't add frustration to your hope of seeking better opportunities abroad. No add weed & rodents to your green pastures.

USA shouldnt be on that list if you r serious about staying back to work after school.....their immigration policy is the worst at the moment couple with uprising of racism......but its a land full of opportunities. Canada is a friendlier country to immigrants and you should be able to get a work permit. US has more opportunities but what is opportunity without peace of mind

It is not easy to get a job as an international student in Ireland after you graduate. Truth be told.

This is why you guys are denied study visa because most of you plan on staying instead of returning back to your country after your studies. That means you practically lied or planning on lying to your interviewer about returning back to your home country upon the completion of your studies.
So where's the advice in this? undecided
