Quick one sir, I studied Integrated Science and I am hoping to do a conversion masters by the end of the year or next. What are the various IT relate courses I can take up and possible countries to look at for greater chances? I am open to suggestions from all.

I think you should think about going to Canada. Getting an H1-b visa (6 years work temp work visa) in U.S could be challenging. Getting a Greencard or PR is even harder. The easiest way is to either marry a citizen or continue to PhD where you can file for greencard by yourself. If you're thinking of staying back and get offer to move in all three I believe Canada offers the easiest pathway to PR. PR is important because without that you can't work legally in any of those countries and you'd be stuck with odd jobs.

don't limit your choice of countries. Data analytics and machine learning with python is hot now. Software with java is hot now in europe and north america. cybersecurity as well. Just do computer science thats all.

For Canada:
The most convenient method is to apply to a certificate program that lasts 18-24 months. These programs are usually relatively cheap and you could pay for them yourself if you work well (within legal limits).

After the program, you will get a work permit equal to the length of the program. Then after that, depending on the province you choose, you get permanent residence. Many colleges will give you admission before you can finish saying I want to apply.

Remember that your bachelor's degree will have to be evaluated and employers do not value foreign bachelor's highly.

Fine-tune your approach by looking at jobs in the cities that interest you.

Check out Germany, Brazil, Korea, Scandinavia, etc. I know someone who studied French and international studies in Ibadan, got a fully funded scholarship to do Masters in Brazil, finished and got full funding to do PhD there too then did a test sabbatical in Canada. At that point, it was his decision whether to move to Canada or stay in Brazil.

Iamsoworried123:
Hi guys!

I and a friend are looking to migrate to the same country by January 2021 via post-graduate studies and we don't want to make the wrong decision. Your advice would be appreciated.

We've narrowed the countries down to three (U.S, Canada, and the U.K.). Although the dream country is the U.S., we're looking for one out of these three that is;

A. Easy to get a job in and stay back after graduation (with a high chance of getting a residence permit)

B. Relatively inexpensive (Although cost would not be a big issue, but the easier it is to get funding and GA positions, the better)

Quick profile of the two of us;

Person A studied Geology

Person B studied History and International Studies

I'm aware those in the STEM field have a higher chance of getting jobs and it's difficult to get a H1-B U.S Visa (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Given the recent change in U.S. immigration laws, which one of these three countries do we stand the highest chance of getting jobs and residing after studies?

Please advise.

Thank you very much!

Can this get to the front page, please? I need as many contributions as I can get. Thanks.

This is why you guys are denied study visa because most of you plan on staying instead of returning back to your country after your studies. That means you practically lied or planning on lying to your interviewer about returning back to your home country upon the completion of your studies.

Would you want to go back to Nigeria? A country that can't even do simple things like election, road maintenance and electricity. Nigerian in the diaspora contributes more to Nigeria than rapidly falling oil export and the meagre 6% Tax collection.

Hey, you can use the Express Entry if you're qualified

Express Entry Program?

Basically, the legal and comfortable route to immigrate to Canada from Nigeria is via the Federal Express Entry Program. But I am aware that a lot of people hate it because of a required IELTS of 6.0+.

Relocating with Express Entry connotes that you have all the requirements + documentation the Canadian immigration service needs.

While Express Entry might seem as a bid deal relocation route, the truth remains that it is the fastest way to relocate to Canada as a Nigerian or from any other country.
An overview of FEEP.

Step 1. First, you need to get info about Canada immigration programs, facilities, rules.

Step 2. Get the info about IELTS, study and give IELTS if you are from a non-native English language country.

Step 3. Get your professional skills assessed from Canadian skills assessment bodies (Like WES) for migrants like you need to apply for CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System).

Step 4. Create Express Entry profile.

Step 5. Your profile gets ranked in the Express Entry pool depend on your points.

Step 6. You can get a job from a Canadian employer after you get an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canada.

Step 7. Submit Medical PCC and other Documents.

Step 8. Apply for Canada visa and migrate to Canada.

That is all you need to do to relate with the Express Entry Program

You can also Relocate with Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot 2020 – the easiest way to leave Nigeria for Canada

If you want to leave Nigeria for Canada in the next 6-9months then the easiest method by far to successfully get a permanent residence & relocate to Canada within 6 – 9 months is through the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot program.

I saw the article here, so, you can check it out. https://relocationgarland.com.ng/cheapest-way-to-migrate-to-canada-from-nigeria-today/
Nice post. What is the best way to migrate and work in the UK? Some would say forget UK, but I know it's possible.
Thanks.

that's the major problem countries will keep Talking bad about Nigerians. The best place you can make money and have freedom is a developing country like Nigeria. After my PhD, I am returning to my job and professional practice. The main thing is knowing and setting a goal for yourself.

Forget the US and the UK. The job markets there are already congested and neither country is anything to write home about. Too expensive, especially healthcare. Canada is your best bet. Try to supplement your degrees with certification in data science as it relates to your field. Very helpful.

No one in his right senses with what's happening across Europe should even think of relocating there right now... Nigeria is safer than any of this places for now... Even if you wan migrate, Canada is the best option of those three

Everyone here is screaming canada, hmmh. My dear it just depends on what you want. I still feel USA is the true land of opportunities. Yes, there are visa issues but rarely will you have problems if your normalize your stay/visa (even if it is work visa). i still feel USA is a far better option especially if you're studying STEM. Canada has a high standard of living but not many opportunities like USA. if you are really ready to work and still single, I personally advise USA. If you're a family man, then you can go for Canada. Also look at the long term goal too. It is far easier to get a quality job in the USA unlike Canada...that's just the truth. But ease of getting PR, then go for Canada.
