Yet to be identified persons have broken into the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) on the main campus of Osun state University, Osogbo.

The ATM outlet, belonging to Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) was broken into in the wee hours of Wednesday.

When AMILOADED Correspondent visited the location of the ATM, it was discovered that he wall beside the machine was perforated apparently for the perpetrators to gain entry into the kiosk that normally houses the money dispensed by the ATM.

AMILOADED Correspondent couldn’t confirm whether the thieves were able to cart away money as at the time of filing this report.

Confirming the incidence, the Public Relations Officer of the university, Ademola Adesoji said the development had been reported to the Police.

In a chat with AMILOADED, adesoji said, “we received a report of the breaking into one of the ATMs on the main campus of the University earlier today by unknown persons.

“We have visited the ATM gallery and hereby confirm the incident. We have since reported the case at the nearest police station. The security agencies have already commenced investigation.

“We hereby implore everyone to be calm and continue with their normal activities. The management of the University is committed and will continue to be committed to the safety of the lives and properties of its stakeholders on all our campuses.”
