Forget the US and the UK. The job markets there are already congested and neither country is anything to write home about. Too expensive, especially healthcare. Canada is your best bet. Try to supplement your degrees with certification in data science as it relates to your field. Very helpful.

Let me give you a brief opinion about each country:
US - Their schools are overrated and expensive. Upon graduation you will not be allowed to stay back except it's an IVY league schools ( Harvard, yale, princeton, Stanford, Columbia MIT, Brown etc) since you want to relocate US is a no no

UK - Very easy to get admission and it's quite pricey too but like the US you cannot stay back after graduation.

Canada - this is by far the best choice for the following reasons
1.) Affordable school fees
2.) Friendly and tolerate environment
3.) You can stay back after graduation with a post graduate work permit (pgwp), its 1 yr prep for 1 yrs program and 3yr pgwp for programs of 2yrs or more. This us important because you are expected to use the work permit to get a job and process your permanent residence.

With this canada far outweigh the others for young single guys and even families.

Go to canada and see yourself prosper

I studied economics for my undergraduate with a CGPA of 3.84/5.00 and I’m planing to go for my masters in economics in canada. I graduated in 2019 and I haven’t been opportuned to have any working experience.
Pls I need your advice of the following questions

1)Is there a chance to get a school with full funding or at least part ? As I have searched online for schools that offers scholarships
2) What test do I have to write to process the admission
My dad is willing to sponsor with me $10k. I dont know if that will be enough for both studying and getting a job after studies

I'm not too sure about the CGPA requirements, you might be asked to run a PGD or go to community college before admission depending on the school you apply to. US$10,000 will be about 14,000 CAD. It should be just about enough to scrape by to finish up the programme; and you should be able to get a PG student job without much difficulty while studying for extra income. Just go through the different university websites and check their fees and requirements to find one that will suit you; it's that simple. I don't know much about how admission is run now, but application was relatively easy some years back. If you want, you could also get a reliable agent to put you through. They will be more current on the procedure.

Good luck.

we are saying the same thing. because of he goes to study geology he would end up in the lab with samples. Geology is good in countries with huge mineral deposits. How many countries in the west care about it. when they are even cutting funding due to climate change

We ain't saying the same thing!! My point is you still think that geology is done in the lab!! My marine geologist friend has never been to the lab in ages!! A country being rich in resources doesn't equate to them having renowned geologists!!

My friend is did his masters in a low resource country, see geologists all over asking for his help in analysing their geological data. It's all based on your determination.

If not that you've already narrowed your choice to these three countries I would suggested Sweden. Sweden is the real deal brother. I can't come and shout so I'll implore you to make Google your best friend. Find out yourself. In that category also include Belgium !!

Take my word for it and thank me later man.

While I agree with you, it's important to understand most of these companies especially IT were founded by folks who studied abroad and returned (with second citizenship). Then again, being entrepreneur in a place where electricity isn't constant and purchasing power is declining isn't for the fainthearted.

Hopefully those returnees will work for their various communities in our country to resolve the issues of electricity and declining purchasing power as the oyinbos did/do. Otherwise a significant portion of their diaspora experience is a waste!

You can stay in the U.K. after graduation. You are given 2 years post-study work visa to look for a job within the time-frame.
It has not yet been implemented

Hey, you can use the Express Entry if you're qualified

Express Entry Program?

Basically, the legal and comfortable route to immigrate to Canada from Nigeria is via the Federal Express Entry Program. But I am aware that a lot of people hate it because of a required IELTS of 6.0+.

Relocating with Express Entry connotes that you have all the requirements + documentation the Canadian immigration service needs.

While Express Entry might seem as a bid deal relocation route, the truth remains that it is the fastest way to relocate to Canada as a Nigerian or from any other country.
An overview of FEEP.

Step 1. First, you need to get info about Canada immigration programs, facilities, rules.

Step 2. Get the info about IELTS, study and give IELTS if you are from a non-native English language country.

Step 3. Get your professional skills assessed from Canadian skills assessment bodies (Like WES) for migrants like you need to apply for CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System).

Step 4. Create Express Entry profile.

Step 5. Your profile gets ranked in the Express Entry pool depend on your points.

Step 6. You can get a job from a Canadian employer after you get an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canada.

Step 7. Submit Medical PCC and other Documents.

Step 8. Apply for Canada visa and migrate to Canada.

That is all you need to do to relate with the Express Entry Program

You can also Relocate with Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot 2020 – the easiest way to leave Nigeria for Canada

If you want to leave Nigeria for Canada in the next 6-9months then the easiest method by far to successfully get a permanent residence & relocate to Canada within 6 – 9 months is through the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot program.

I saw the article here, so, you can check it out. https://relocationgarland.com.ng/cheapest-way-to-migrate-to-canada-from-nigeria-today/

Declining purchasing power can be solved by entrepreneurs creating companies which pay reasonable salaries. However, provision of electricity on a wider scale is inhibited by the constitution which restricts a certain amount of power to be produced for the general populace by a private individual or non-DISCOS

Just to add, write the GRE and have other requirements ready, then seek for funding. The likelihood of being funded with that CGPA in Canada is low and this is me being honest. Try the US as I've stated that she not her northern neighbour provides immense funding opportunities which is more than any other country globally. At most, you will spend 30% of the $10K for preparing for the US.

Hi guys!

I and a friend are looking to migrate to the same country by January 2021 via post-graduate studies and we don't want to make the wrong decision. Your advice would be appreciated.

We've narrowed the countries down to three (U.S, Canada, and the U.K.). Although the dream country is the U.S., we're looking for one out of these three that is;

A. Easy to get a job in and stay back after graduation (with a high chance of getting a residence permit)

B. Relatively inexpensive (Although cost would not be a big issue, but the easier it is to get funding and GA positions, the better)

Quick profile of the two of us;

Person A studied Geology

Person B studied History and International Studies

I'm aware those in the STEM field have a higher chance of getting jobs and it's difficult to get a H1-B U.S Visa (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Given the recent change in U.S. immigration laws, which one of these three countries do we stand the highest chance of getting jobs and residing after studies?

Please advise.

Thank you very much!

Can this get to the front page, please? I need as many contributions as I can get. Thanks.

Guy Canada will be better...

yes it is still very much a lab thing unless you are doing gis or remote sensing were you can do some programming. A country being rich in mineral resources might need geologists but right now western countries are cutting down funding on anything exploration and going renewable so nobody needs them. Your marine geologist is what he is a marine scientist and not actually a full geologist.
They are asking for his help because he veered into full blown data analytics which still IT.

If you are planning study-migration
USA is the best if you have Good GRE score you can get full funding. And if you start early to plan for residency 5yrs (2yrs masters and 3yrs opt)is enough to prepare ground for H1b. It takes long to get residency but worth it. You can still go for UK .
Lastly look for a good course and study well to avoid driving cab on H1b status.

Canada could have been #1 if you have work experience for PR and get cheaper tuition fees or loan but getting their student Visa na War.

Why I like Usa is just that if you take the pain to get Pr/Gc you can easily bring in your siblings to US as Pr.
