It’s very appalling in this 21st century to see people reasoning like goats.

The person who posted this, common sense should tell you that you found yourself in a family rooted in diabolism and idolatry as such could be found anywhere in the world and not perculiar or to be assiociated with any tribe.

Those saying Ngwa people are canibals and even giving stupid stories to further convince themselves, I hope you get to realize how stupid you sound.
The same people will tell you, Mbaise man is cunny, Nnewi people are into blood money, Owerri girls are promiscuous ...etc
my brother
them it's shows that kids are in nairaland

From my personal experience with ngwa people, these people are extortionist, callous and greedy set of people, if you meet them for the first time they pretend to be nice and cool, they know how to impress visitors who are getting to know them for the first time, but as you deal further with them they show you their true colour. The Ngwa people see outsiders as potential avenue to extort money from and if you dont yeild to their demand they will look for a way to frustrate you. In a nut shell am not saying the girl you are marrying is bad, but you see her background and her extended are what you should try and look at critically. An average family in ngwa land is always at war with themselves, these kids born there grow up with that mindset of living and creating family crisis wherever they find themselves. I want to warn you, whatever you accept to do from today as a form a marriage rite, ensure you do it to the later, but if you stand your feet on the ground as a man and uphold you norm and values which you know is right , you have started creating an impression on how your inlaws should perceive you. I hope this helps.

It's high time we start reasoning well in this country, this is the type of mindset that has put us in this trouble called Nigeria. Very soon 2023 elections will be around the corners and people like you will flood Nairaland with various kinds of discrimination against well qualified candidates in the name of ethnicity and religion, and when it is time for harvest, you'll come back to the travel section of this same forum to start asking for Canada or Australia migration prayers.

As far as I am concerned, there is nothing wrong with any ethnic group(s) in this country.
People should be dealt with as who they are and not be blacklisted based on the actions of people who are/were not accountable to the victims of these recurring discriminations.

Everything you have read here is my personal experience about working in ngwa land as a civil servant and also running a business there too. I have first hand experience about their life style and belief. If you think everything I wrote here is a lie, pls call someone that resides in abia state or any part of ngwa and ask them of their honest experience. We've totally lost it... I've met and lived with them, like it goes for all races and tribes, there are always bad eggs but they are lovely people...have a few Ngwa friends too....
If you are from Ngwa land kindly say it, let me engage you with facts why I said ngwa people are callous, extortionist and vile . No regrets saying this bro.

I'm from Abia but definitely not from that part and our people dread them so much. We don't even mention them in our place.
One of my cousins once followed his friend who's from that part to their place. So at mid night, his friend out of compassion had to wake him up to leave otherwise he'll be a dead man by day break cos once they see a stranger, they must come at night to dema for their own share. That was how he helped my cousin to escape that night.

Another instance was recently when John Okafor aka Mr. Ibu was almost left behind by his crew at at a movie set in that ngwa area. Some men were already closing in on him when the crew bus reversed back with speed when they discovered IBU was not in the bus. He could have been eaten up by those men.
But come o...why didn't do proper findings before even proposing? Hmm...I guess you're in for a long thing.

Interesting how stereotypes work. One of the most gentle and respectable persons in my circle is an Ngwa man.
I'm shocked to read fellow igbos stereotyping their own people. It's quite disappointing. Cannibalism? I can't believe the b.s I'm reading.

I can’t forget that community.

One family member nearly lost his life to cannibals while drinking at a local joint. They thought he was too drunk to escape. They didn’t know the man was alert. His friends had warned him to stay indoors after dark. Man follow woman go drink.

A friend was posted to that LGA and he was warned by his Landlord not to be found outside the lodge at night because of cannibals.

My job took me to a neighbouring community a couple of years ago. An Ngwa man came to do a job for us. One man got into a fight with him cos he found his daughter on a date with the Ngwa man. He accused him luring his daughter so that he could eat her. That’s when the local workers started sharing stories about Ngwa people. All the guy said in defence was that it was an old practice, that nobody does that anymore. He didn’t deny it outrightOP, you don buy market. cheesy
Big lies.. Everyone is escaping, how many of your family relations have you lost to ngwa people... Stop giving us fake testimony that never existed.. Show me with proof your kinsman that was killed in ngwa land.. I mean the one you lost...

You still don't get the point. I repeat that no ethnicity in this country is that miserable so to say. A truth about life is that you are more likely to attract the kind of person you are. I can bet you, I have stayed in Lagos for close to 15yrs, i am not from SW, people say all sort of things about them but my best of trusted friends are from SW. Have I gotten my fingers terribly burnt before by south westerners? I would say yes, but that does not label a Yoruba man from certain area as bad; Same way I may not have been fair to everyone i have come across because I wouldn't say I am perfect.

People directly from or related to Ngwaland have spoken out and have defended the allegations but I think that's not as important as letting you know that a change of mindset is expedient, otherwise you may relocate to other places or even your own village and complain bitterly calling them names just as some Ibos cry "they hate Igbos" today.

It is so disheartening and unbelievable that some people whom society are looking up to for direction as a result of educational attainment and exposure can come out on social media to say unverifiable and unfounded fact about a particular tribe. It is an illiterate, unexposed, and uncivilized person that can come out on social media to say something in other to paint a particular tribe black.
All the people on this forum saying Ngwa people are diabolical, cannibal, etc shows how uncivilized, uneducated and unexposed you are. Until you learn to judge people based on what you know about them rather than what you you hear about then, you will remain a fool.
Come to Ariaria international market in Ngwa land, is dominated by strangers, how many of then has been killed and eaten by Ngwa people, none.
Abia state polytechnic is in Ngwa land, has there been any news of Ngwa people killing students? No. I was born and brought up in Ngwa land, i am more than 30years of age now. I have not seen where Ngwa people killed people and eat their meat as a result of cultural heritage.
Some of you coming to social media to say trashed hasn't visited your villages for more than a decade now due to wickedness in your village but you are on the social media saying thrash about other tribe.
All the killings going on in this country, how many has been recorded in Ngwa land, none.

Ngwa people are very greedy. They are never to be trusted. In fact an Ngwa person living in other parts of Igbo land is never proud to tell you he is from Ngwa. It is in their blood to betray you in a long run if you ever have them as friends.

In your case they have already planned how to milk you dry, including her mother. Being Mischievous is the only thing that keeps them together. As you can see they have already seen you as a stranger.

Your woman is aware of this but kept silent probably she is looking for every means to get away from her people. Don't really know why you chose to marry from that clan.
Re: I NEED Clarification About Ngwa Culture In Abia State by zenithincome: 3:01pm On Feb 04
Lol, am an Ngwaman. Am not surprise to read all these from the Igbos because of few reasons;
1. Igbo people cannot live in your land and not hate you
2. Their main objective is to acquire whatever you have and dominate you in your land
3. Igbos will surely create an avenue to look down on you in order to achieve their selfish acquisition of what you have.
4. You become an enemy to them when it seems you are strong to be dominated

Now, pay close attention to this,
as a person from Ngwa in Osisioma, my forefathers warmly embraced the Igbos and welcomed them wholeheartedly when other parts of Igboland were in need. We provided foods, shelter and even free lands to many migrants from other parts of Igboland, treating them as our own. Some even became part of our family in Ngwaland, while others worked as laborers. This led to an influx of people from other parts of Igboland coming to Aba Ngwaland in search of better opportunities.

Our people began selling land to those who wanted to build, and as a welcoming people, we not only sold land to our fellow brothers but also embraced them as part of our communities. We created a supportive environment, even at the expense of our own relatives, because we view visitors as people in need of assistance. This is why Aba Ngwa has become the most renowned city in Igboland. But now, I wonder, what sin did our forefathers commit by accepting their brothers? Today, those who cannot accommodate visitors in their villages criticize the Ngwa people. So, I ask, can you name any city, state, or country where the Igbo people reside and have huge population without stereotyping the Indigenous people of that land? Whether it's Delta, Ikwere, Yoruba, Enugu, Ebonyi, Onitsha, Benin, Togo or even in Ghana or any other place, the Igbos will always see to be targeting the Indigenous people of the land their living so the Ngwa people are not exempted.

Ngwa people cannot dance to your tone, if you think we the Ngwa people are bad, leave our land, you cannot go to Yoruba land and tell them how to leave, or to Enugu and single out a particular people and stereotype them for your selfish interest.

We are not Igbos just like Davi Umahi said that Ebonyi people are not Igbos; the Ngwa people are not Igbos, We will surely get our own state (Aba state) just like the Ikweres and Ebonyi people and then you will know we are not Igbos.

We are carnivorous yet you people are in our hinter lands crawling every corners of our villages, we are diabolic yet are killing yourselves to get our lands and even ready to live as slaves in Ngwaland, tag us anything you like the truth is still remain in as much as you the Anambra, some of part of Imo are still claiming to be the original Igbos, you will be hated with passion.

I hate Igbos and am not one!

Stereotype

All these dtories are fabricated.

It could be an old practice in done area in isiala-ngwa but not all ngwa.
Old practice in sense of war time or killing those that they feel are threats to their community.

The ogboo( ohafia, abiriba, item, igbere, etc) people are known as ritual killers.
They kill human beings for ogwu ego (blood money)
But ngwa are the most majority clan and biggest clan in Igbo land. They v a very fertile land . They v more fertile than any Igbo land
ABA as a whole is ngwaland.
How many times v ngwa people eaten anyone,? None

We all go to aba to buy things but we v not been eaten .
