Koginaija:
yes,but don't forsake the assemblies of yourselves together.
The Early Christians gathered mostly in one another's homes. There were also gatherings in public places but this became less common as the persecution of Christians got intense.

And mind you, when the Christians were advised by Paul not to forsake the gathering of the brethren, he said it in the form of advice, and not a law. And there were reasons why he said it.

First of all, the Church was still young and needed constant gathering to build it up. If everyone continued to do his own thing by himself, the Church will die.

Second, the Apostles thought that Jesus Christ was coming back in their lifetime, so they decided to stay ever watchful so as not to be caught flat-footed.

And moreover, the purpose of the gathering was not for you to go and sit down and listen to a pastor. It was supposed to be conversational. This means that everyone was supposed to contribute their gifts to the building up of the church.

The verse says we are to encourage one another. Which means, everyone in the church should be active. It is not only the pastors that should be edifying, while the rest of the church members sit down like zombies with their gifts wasting away.

If you want to understand the meaning of conversational, visit a mosque, especially in the evening, and you might find men reasoning among themselves.

Your faith should be built for times like this. What's faith when its ridden by doubts and uncertainty? But then , this is a generation of "fair-weather" Christians who only profess their faith by words and not deeds.

Come rain, come shine, as for me and my household, we'll serve Jesus!
There is a huge difference between FAITH and IGNORANCE,
Taking precautions does not mean you don’t have faith but you are aware of the situation.
But thank God the virus is not really in Nigeria, I’f it was, I doubt you would be saying this bs

My people perish for lack of knowledge . Yet , with knowledge Nigerians will still perish because they don’t apply what they know. People are just plain stupid and very crass for saying people who are not going to church have little/no faith. Why don’t you take your faith to sambisa and test it there?

Washing of hands/ use of sanitizers will be defeated when you are in an enclosed space with a covid-19 patient . God gave you brains for a reason . If we have a large number of corona cases in Nigeria , all these faith people will go and hide. Don’t blame those who choose to take precautions early .

There's a mark of "touch not" upon me and mine and upon all who believe. We fear nothing, we dominate sicknesses, diseases, plagues and all vices of the devil.

The world has not seen anything yet. This is only the beginning...

Darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people, but the Lord shall arise upon me and his glory shall be seen upon me. Isaiah 60:2

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/jhn.16.33.KJV

The answer is Jesus...

Peace.

In ozubulu men entered a church and started shooting at the people there, I am not sure even one person survived it has happened a lot in America Boko Haram has bombed a lot of churches too. Please keep on going to church the more ignorant and deluded people die the better.

Losing My Religion
R.E.M.

Oh, life is bigger
It's bigger
Than you and you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no, I've said too much
I set it up
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no, I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
Every whisper
Of every waking hour
I'm choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool, fool
Oh no, I've said too much
I set it up
Consider this
Consider this
The hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me
To my knees failed
What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around
Now I've said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
But that was just a dream
That was just a dream
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no, I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
But that was just a dream
Try, cry
Why try?
That was just a dream, just a dream, just a dream
Dream

You are wrong
The purpose of the gathering is to
Encourage one another
Edify one another
Give/support one another
Minister to one another

The Sunday service doesnt start and ends with Pastor preaching.

Areas where people minister to one another includes Sunday schools, prayer session, Choir ministration etc.

God work in diverse ways, that word you are looking for might be embedded in those sessions and not necessarily when the Pastor is preaching

Dude, grape juice cannot cure or prevent the coronavirus. We've been very lucky thus far, but things could go bad very quickly.

Call it whatever you deem fit.
Show me where I said Christians shouldn't take precautions. But then I owe you no explanation. If that's ur understanding of what I said then its fine. You've got the luxury of ur own opinion so cheers!

Eviana:
I went to church.
I think people need to be wise yet practical.
While people should be informed and cautious about any worldwide pestilence, all a professor of Christ "can" and "should" do is pray about the entire situation, be vigilante and consistent about being as clean (washing hands with soap thoroughly, using hand sanitizer, Clorox, Lysol or powerful chemicals that can kill germs etc.)as one can and continue living life.
Do not deliberately put vulnerable people (sickly elderly people--aged 65-70 and above- or immunocompromised people etc.) in situations where they can be more at risk (ex. large crowds etc.)
When one has done all one can do practically, then leave it in God's hands.
Being fearful or afraid to the point where one becomes irrational is unhealthy and destructive.
Unbridled fear can debilitate or paralyze a person...which is not good.

Christians should not be living that way...as if they do not have a Father in Heaven who still rules this entire planet and understand what is occurring.

2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Will you marry me?

Except a man be born again he no fit see the kingdom of God.

Ain't y'all born again?

Nobody wan die but they won go heaven!

grin
Believe that to your perils.

America is saying, they can’t test everyone and you think Nigeria will be able?

How will Nigeria able to monitor or test community spreads in rural areas or in cities outside our two major Airports? On arrival they scan your temperature, which will not show up if you were infected within the past 4 days and they will flag you to move on.

You then enter society or go to the village where no testing exists and plus not all labs have the clearance to test for this virus, only very few labs in the major cities, which means your Doctor will likely send you home with some pain or fever or flu medications.
