Silly boss. He is more concerned about discrimination than the jeopardy to public health his stupid inactions caused. He supposedly is literate, sees the news everyday and knew the person was coming from a nation already is the grip of the pandemic, a country that is already shutting down. Why didn't he order the person to self quarantine in line with government directives.

This is why I say government just has to change its strategy if it has any. The Nigerian that cannot obey a simple traffic light will not obey a complex self quarantine regime. It has to be made mandatory the way it is done in China, a cou try that has experience of what this pandemic can do to a country. In China all quarantines are done in government establishments to ensure probity.

If our government cannot take the sensible decision of suspending visas and closing borders to all but a few countries with zero cases then it should declare a state of emergency in all international gateway states of Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Portharcourt and commandeer all hotels and medical facilities within proximity of those city airports for mandatory quarantines. It may not be for as long as 14 days but no one should be allowed to walk straight into society and decide by him or her self whether he or she is a threat to society. That is just idiotic.

The government should step in and quarantine the entire staff of that company and decide by itself when their premises and operarions can resume, not them. Nigerians are not their brothers keeper. They cannot be trusted to do what is right. Goverment must be more assertive. If this thing hits the core of society and it begins to empty out police stations and debilitate prison wardens and grounds soldiers then we wil take it seriously.

Let us do what is right WHEN WE STILL HAVE TIME TO.

Oga calm down na, your anger is misplaced and should be directed at the UK returnee herself and the Government. The infected person was not an employee of the so called "silly boss" but a family member of an employee, so how was he supposed to know the itinerary of all the family members of all his employees? In my view, his subsequent course of action once he became aware is commendable.

Your judgement is swift
Who will be able to stand in the day of your anger
O' merciful Lord , you have been patient and merciful for years
Your long suffering has been for long

Now is time for your to pour your wrath on the head of the wicked

But Lord, remember for your name sake your promise , that as many that fear your holy name , and keep your commandments, you' will exempt them from the dangers

Please Lord save those people who you've elected from the foundation of the earth
Those who fears you and tremble at your words

So, in a nutshell, you are one of the elected. Go and do Corona testing first.

Now i see that the government is using convict 19 to scam us. What are our airport authorities doing that the man that flew in was not tested at the airport until he got contact with others. This organisation is being used as a tool this time around based on my perception. God is watching.

I’ve seen the story b4. It illustrates what I was telling some people - 9ja has done nothing to warrant being praised the way they were praising us. We did exactly the same thing Italy did. So anything that would have happened would have started happening by now.
I hope u can see how the story illustrates my point - there is something preventing Nigerians from catching any deadly form of corona. Just as in Senegal where 27 people have tested positive so far. ALL are returnees from hot spots or family members of returnees from hot spots, none serious, some without symptoms, and some have already tested negative again! I’m pretty sure our hot sun and warm humid weather has something to do with it!
It's ignorant statements like this that creates misinformation
There is nothing stopping Nigerians from getting the virus.

People are not just naturally immune to viral infection.
No correlation with the hot weather or climate, it has not be statistically proven that hot weather prevent viral infection.

Bird flu which has same transmission method affected many birds in Nigeria, HIV which has a different transmission method but same virus family is well alive in Nigeria.

how many Nigerians have been tested to confirm they don't have it?

Stop misinforming people
Seun, lalasticlala please take note as more of this careless statements will be made in the coming days.

Yes as it appears corona virus doesn't survive in heat, warm surface or hot sunshine. heat helps in breaking down viruses hence we are been adviced to wash hands regularly with warm water, drink warm water, avoid ice cream or cold water. but how true is that? undecided
Zooposki, KiloMarine, Jakumo, Olubee22

Always some half-truths and misinformation. Drinking warm water and avoiding ice cream has nothing to do with it. See screenshot below.
A lot of it has to do with immune boosting vitamin D from our hot sun. People don’t realise how important that is. In those high-incidence countries people cover up their skin due to cold. Day in day out, no sun touches them.
Also cold weather has been shown to suppress the immune system to some extent

You are correct. It will be difficult to spread in Nigeria and that is because the conditions to get it are simply not in Sub Saharan Africa.

It is not because of the temperature or immune system or whatever everyone is saying. Don’t ask me for the reason. No one will believe me if I say. I believe a few other people might know why. Press like if you know.

My guy these things are not pulled out of thin air or based on hunches. People spend enormous time and resources researching these things. See my screenshot above

nobody tests airport arrivals for covid 19. only temperature checks are done and at the time the italian hadn't developed symptoms

U r the one being ignorant. People spend enormous time and resources researching these things. It is not a hunch or something u pull out of thin air. HIV and Ebola are quite different from flu-like viruses like corona. The flu disappears in the summer. Also u confuse SARS with bird flu. U r the one making ignorant statements and at the same time invoking Seun and lalasticlala! I have no doubt immune-boosting vitamin D from our hot sun has a lot to do with all this. We don’t want Nigerians to become complacent but at same time we need not be unnecessarily alarmist. See below

If the guy living with the returnee tests negative, then rest assured it is very difficult to transmit corona in Nigeria
No, they need to be re-tested at least twice to really ascertain their status. Some people are asymptomatic and might test negative for the first time.

Man
I didn't confuse anything.
I am one of people who spend time researching this things undecided.
Not saying people should panic, but you're literally promoting complacency by saying Nigerians can't get coronavirus because of the hot weather

There has been transmission of coronavirus in countries with similar weather.

You don't just make blanket statements that Nigerians can't get coronavirus, that's straight up nonsense and misinformation.

I hope the spread slows down and a cure is found, if not don't be ashamed to come back to this post when over 100 Nigerians living in Nigeria contact the coronavirus
Remember this post
