CanadaOrBust: Speaking of baseless argument, u haven't been able to answer any of d questions I asked. If u can't answer d simple questions asked, that clearly shows that u have a more baseless argument than I have. If u are honest with urself, u have been evasive at best and even done more mixology than u accuse me of. All u have been doing is shifting d goal post to accommodate ur narrative which isn't even consistent. It as if u are making up ur points as u go along. Ur hospital analogy just doesn't cut it. Are there reports that d more than 1000 cases in Australia were contracted in their hospitals? Every question I posed to u addresses ur three conditions of warm, humid and poor. So begin by answering d following questions, then u will see how ur points crumble like a pack of cards. lexy2014: NB: pls take advantage of my comment were I gave a chronology of our exchange. Seems u are loosing track of d claims u are making |

CanadaOrBust: Am glad u mentioned Iran. Iran's high numbers aren't necessarily down to d weather but to poor management & lack of access to kits that will aid treatment. U will also note that virtually all index cases in other middle eastern countries can be traced to Iran. If it was just a weather issue, then Iraq would have d same numbers as Iran. Also take note that Syria & turkey don't have any case of corona to d best of my knowledge & their weather is cooler than that of Iran |

[b] lexy2014: My brother discussing this with u is frustrating because I assume u know certain things which it then turns out u don’t. THESE THINGS WORK TOGETHER! Getting sun alone does not immune u to corona!! You keep isolating Australia when there are 200 countries in the world. Many things contribute to corona. There is high traffic between Australia and China. See below. Also Australia has about 1000 cases TOTAL while 627 Italians DIED of corona just yesterday alone! Once again Australia is not a hot spot for corona. Why do u think that is? Certain things are FACTS not opinion. Everything I have given u is a FACT not my opinion. * vitamin D from hot sun is immune-boosting *corona does not thrive in heat and humidity *sunlight breaks down corona *cold weather suppresses the immune system *The more people congregate indoors in AC the more corona can spread than if they were forced outdoors by heat or congregate indoors without AC. THE AC HAS TO BE ALL OVER. All day u can walk from your AC car into AC buildings never experiencing heat! These things work together to give u protection. Just one (sun) does not automatically immune u to corona! ———————- Nicholls, said there were three things coronavirus does not like — sunlight, temperature and humidity. “Sunlight will cut the virus’s ability to grow in half, so the half-life will be 2.5 minutes, and in the dark it’s about 13 to 20 minutes. Sunlight is really good at killing viruses,” Nicholls said. His view is corroborated by a virologist at Germany’s Centre for Experimental and Clinical Infection Research, Thomas Pietschmann. Pietschmann said the coronavirus is “not very heat-resistant, which means that the virus quickly breaks down when temperatures rise.”

lexy2014: Well the best of your knowledge is wrong. As of yesterday Turkey has 670 cases with 9 deaths Iraq, 214 with 17 deaths Syria has no test kits There are many things that contribute to corona profile not just temperature. Turkey has a tradition of rubbing cologne b4 going out. It serves as a disinfectant. Iraq winter are rainy (humid) and only in the mountains Syria temperature is not cold. All u have to do is find ONE hot, humid and relatively poor country where corona succeeded and we will throw all the science away |

CanadaOrBust: If u are a student of science as u claim, u will realise that no theory irrespective of d evidence available is conclusive or foolproof. D notion of exception to d rule always applies even to my immunity theory. That is why no one theory can adequately explain a phenomenon. D best a theory can do for u is to take as far as it can. Along d way, it will gas out. So 4d fact that u attached a screenshot of a research doesn't make that research d Bible or d beginning & d end of d issue. Even d authors of d research u shared know that. If u feel otherwise, then u aren't a student of science that u preach |
Re: Coronavirus: Ayo Alaba Idowu, Birdview Group Boss Speaks On Infected UK Returnee by lexy2014: 2:49am On Mar 22, 2020 |
CanadaOrBust: It's frustrating to u because u can't answer d simple questions I asked. And u no that if u answer them, ur argument comes to an end. I don't see why u are uncomfortable with me mentioning Australia. Doesn't it fit d bill or does it threaten ur argument? U are only regurgitating d issue of weather which I am not contesting. What I am pointing out to u is ur inconsistency and d fact that u have negated urself. So all this embellishments u are adding about what one person said about temperature vis-à-vis corona isn't catching my fancy. U are just avoiding answering simple questions. How can u say "THE AC HAS TO BE ALL OVER"? How possible or practical is that? All over in what sense? Does everyone in Australia use AC 24/7? Does no one walk on d streets? Does everyone use cars? Is there AC in their beaches or at Australian open venues? U are still entangling urself with ur statements about AC just in an attempt not to answer d questions I asked: Is a/c a public infrastructure in Australia? Are people cocooned inside a/c even while they walk on d streets that prevents them from accessing sunlight? Are all Nigerians and Africans so poor that they can't afford a/c? Are u saying that africa is so poor that no one in africa uses a/c? D ones that can afford a/c or have access to it, why have they all not been infected since a/c makes people susceptible to corona virus? Except u are saying Australias sun doesn't have vitamin D, u successfully negated ur own theory by urself. |
Re: Coronavirus: Ayo Alaba Idowu, Birdview Group Boss Speaks On Infected UK Returnee by lexy2014: 2:54am On Mar 22, 2020 |
CanadaOrBust: Great. So d situation in turkey has changed still leaving us with Syria and Yemen. D reason I mentioned Iraq is that Iraq has exactly d same weather with Iran and if it was just strictly an issue of weather, then iraq won't have just 214 cases. In answer to ur "one hot, humid and relatively poor country", pls answer d following questions. If u are able to, then u will see if there is a need for that: "Is a/c a public infrastructure in Australia? Are people cocooned inside a/c even while they walk on d streets that prevents them from accessing sunlight? Are all Nigerians and Africans so poor that they can't afford a/c? Are u saying that africa is so poor that no one in africa uses a/c? D ones that can afford a/c or have access to it, why have they all not been infected since a/c makes people susceptible to corona virus? lexy2014: R u ok sir? Really. With due respect your questions are infantile sir What has AC got to do with sunlight??!! That’s why I said u r mixed up. I’ve already told u each of these things is a part of a whole. Australia has SOME of those things that is why it is not a hot zone. If this happened during Australian winter it would have been a corona hot zone. GUARANTEED! Because it has high traffic with China! Here, let me answer your infantile questions (answers of which should be obvious): 1) If u have ENOUGH AC it affects general transmission of corona. It has nothing to do with wether u get enough sun or not!! 2) Nigerians have some AC but due to relative poverty and epileptic power they don’t have enough of it and strong enough to much affect general transmission of corona. But what a stupid question. Having AC does not mean u automatically get corona! Whew! 3)Every country has sun including Australia. Getting enough sun boosts your immune system thus generally lowering your susceptibility to corona. But that doesn’t mean an individual who gets enough sun will automatically not catch corona! I can’t believe I’m actually answering these - things that should be obvious! |
Re: Coronavirus: Ayo Alaba Idowu, Birdview Group Boss Speaks On Infected UK Returnee by CanadaOrBust: 3:40am On Mar 22, 2020 |
lexy2014: I just realized it is same guy. Well I already answered your (pardon me) infantile questions. It is not “strictly issue of weather”. I already told u many things affect a country’s corona profile. For your info Iraq does not have same weather as Iran and Australia does not have similar weather as Nigeria!! |
Re: Coronavirus: Ayo Alaba Idowu, Birdview Group Boss Speaks On Infected UK Returnee by lexy2014: 4:25am On Mar 22, 2020 |
CanadaOrBust: Am very OK. Are u? My questions are very very valid. All these shades u are trying to throw aren't in any way letting u off d hook. So keep ur emotions intact & focus on d issues. D questions are simple & straightforward so am surprised that u were deflecting& avoiding them as if u encountered someone with leprosy. When u say u can't believe u are answering d questions, that's strange because it seems u think ur suppositions are law, a product of infinite wisdom that shouldn't be questioned. U are human & like I told u earlier, if u are a student of science as u profess, questions thrown at u as a follow up to what u say shouldn't cause u to loose ur cool as u have. According to u: "Every country has sun including Australia. Getting enough sun boosts your immune system thus generally lowering your susceptibility to corona. But that doesn’t mean an individual who gets enough sun will automatically not catch corona!" Looking thru ur posts, this isn't d picture that u have been trying to paint. U tried to make it look like d issue of weather was an absolute fact, hence d questions I asked and my reference to Australia. It seems that u are now seeing d light. This was what u said were d conditions necessary for preventing corona: 2) There are three conditions that have to be present a) warm b) humid c) relatively poor CanadaOrBust: Can u pls show me d reference to d above from any of my comments? This y I said u contradicting urself. Here u say "Having AC does not mean u automatically get corona!" But check this out: "otherwise there’d be too much air conditioning and corona will spread indoors). That's not me. Thats u. If it "spreads indoors", will d consequence not be automatic? Now look at this: "If u have ENOUGH AC it affects general transmission of corona. It has nothing to do with wether u get enough sun or not!!" How do u define "ENOUGH AC"? Do all Australians get "ENOUGH AC"? Are d 7deaths and more than 1000 cases d result of this "ENOUGH AC"? Are there no Africans who get "ENOUGH AC"? This was from my last post. Didn't get an answer for this: "How can u say "THE AC HAS TO BE ALL OVER"? How possible or practical is that? All over in what sense? Does everyone in Australia use AC 24/7? Does no one walk on d streets? Does everyone use cars? Is there AC in their beaches or at Australian open venues?" |

CanadaOrBust: If it wasn't strictly an issue of weather, then u wouldn't have bothered populating ur posts with several research done on weather and its effect on corona. U only started changing ur story recently after i started faulting ur comments and asking u questions. Pls what is d difference between Iraq weather and Iran weather? What is d difference between Nigerian weather and Australian weather? |

lexy2014: Lexy, sorry, I do not wish to be rude, but this is not right. People shouldn't argue with others based on impressions, hunches or urban myths. You have the whole Internet to help you. Study, educate yourself, and don't argue just to prove yourself right. The Canada guy is right. The effect of weather on the transmission of COVID is now scientific fact. A brief visit to Google scholar should make this clear to you (and would require less time than you have spent arguing pointlessly). As he also correctly acknowledged, the weather alone will not insulate any country. Other things have to be in place. Those things are being put in place very late here in Nigeria (God help us). Thirdly, I had to mentally facepalm (not physically; covid things, hahaha) so many times while reading your posts. Why mix up the weather of different countries when you can simply type "temperature in Tehran" in Google and see the temperature and humidity differences?? Guys, covid is a serious menace, but so are boneheaded arguments without educating ourselves first. |
Re: Coronavirus: Ayo Alaba Idowu, Birdview Group Boss Speaks On Infected UK Returnee by CanadaOrBust: 5:28am On Mar 22, 2020 |
lexy2014: Sir I don’t know how old u r but u ask questions like a child. I’d give example: I say, “It is easier to catch a cold in UK than in Nigeria because it is cold in U.K.” This will be your question: “Answer this, I live in U.K., how come I don’t have a cold and my cousin Jim lives in Nigeria, how come he has a cold?!” Just a childish way of reasoning. So it’s been nice chatting with u but I’m done with having child-like discussion. I’ve always said many things affect a country’s corona profile and gave some examples. Example, what does being rich have to do with weather? Or rubbing cologne on hand I’ve consistently said same things because they are FACTS not opinion. See below that all the countries have different weathers or use google. Good luck to ya.

proffemi: Tnx 4 ur contribution but I think u have also missed d point. I don't no were u read were I said exclusively that weather isn't responsible for corona. If u read it anywhere in my comments, pls bring it to my knowledge. Even my comment, u quoted doesn't even tally with what u accuse me of. Pls avail urself of d things I said. I also did a chronology of d exchange I had with d gentleman. All u did was to pick one thing and draw conclusions and what u picked doesn't tally with d conclusions u drew |
Re: Coronavirus: Ayo Alaba Idowu, Birdview Group Boss Speaks On Infected UK Returnee by lexy2014: 10:54am On Mar 22, 2020 |
CanadaOrBust: Dude u are funny. Saying Iraq weather is different from Iran is like saying Nigeria's weather is different from Benin republic. It seems this Google is doing u more harm than good. It shouldn't just be about copy & paste. Try and read first b4 u do that except ur intention is to mislead. D screenshot for Iraq talked about temperature for d months of July and august. D screenshot also talked about d cold experienced in January and rainfall between December & April. Ur Iran screenshot only talked about "annual average temperature". What type of comparison did u do there? Is average annual temperature d same as temperature between July and august? With regards to temperature which is d bone of contention, Iraq and Iran is 17degrees and 15degrees respectively as at this morning. An excerpt from ur screenshot on Australia: "Due to d large size of d country, Australia has several different climate zones. The northern section of Australia has more tropical influenced climate, hot and humid in the summer and quite warm and dry in the winter". Pls how is this different from what we experience here in Nigeria? Did u even read what u posted? So for someone who is claiming to be a grown up, i shouldn't be d one cleaning up ur mess. In fact, u shouldn't even be making this type of blunder in d first place. U don't need to come up with ur examples with how I ask questions. Pls use d actual questions I asked. They are there in black& white. Ur so-called facts are watery that's why u are dancing round d questions I asked. U have made several ambiguous claims for instance "THE AC HAS TO BE ALLOVER". Is that a fact? What in d world does that mean?" IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH AC...". How do u define enough AC? U say such things and u expect not to be questioned? If u are sure of what u said, u wouldn't take offence at questions asked. |
Re: Coronavirus: Ayo Alaba Idowu, Birdview Group Boss Speaks On Infected UK Returnee by proffemi: 11:49am On Mar 22, 2020 |
lexy2014: Point of correction. I read your posts. I only happened to select one at random to respond to. I have had my say. If your conclusion, with all I have said, is that I have missed the point, that's too bad. I wish you happy arguing. Have a good day. Edit: just so you're clear, I decided not to say anything about your side argument about AC because it was a distraction from the main points both of you started with. Which is: If it was so straightforward, then Australia wouldn't have had 7deaths from more than 1000 cases".and A country has to be warm AND humid (tropical) AND relatively poor (otherwise there’d be too much air conditioning and corona will spread indoors) He never said the weather alone was responsible. Your taking a stance against him is what shows that despite what you said, you saw the weather as a minor factor if it is one at all. It is not a minor factor. It is very important one. You also later implied that he was saying that the cold causes c19. He didn't. He tried to make a plausible argument that countries likely to have large-scale cooling might still provide conditions for ready spread of c19 even if they are generally hot. I'm not sure I agree with that entirely, but it is not a baseless idea. |
Re: Coronavirus: Ayo Alaba Idowu, Birdview Group Boss Speaks On Infected UK Returnee by lexy2014: 12:41pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
proffemi: With all u have said, u still haven't been able to categorically point out word for word where I said exclusively that weather isn't responsible for corona. That was d little assignment I gave u since u chose to join d conversation. Even d implied statements u said i made, u still can't produce d implied statement. U also haven't been able to produce from my several comments that u read were I said weather is a minor issue. Am not too sure how u came to d conclusion that d issue of AC was a distraction when u were just an observer. If u actually read d chronology that I wrote, then u will see how I summarised d sequence of exchanges& were d issue of AC came & its significance to d discussion. In all honesty, I don't get d point u are trying to make |

lexy2014: I don’t want to leave u on a bad note because u r really not a bad guy, u just have child-like mind. See the average temperatures of Iraq and Iran below, from the same website. As for Australia, when have u ever heard anyone in Nigeria talk about winter or summer?? So u want me to use your actual questions. I’ll do just that so you’ll understand: I said scientists have determined that the richer a society the more AC they’d have and the easier it’d be for virona to spread indoors. Here are your questions! Does it mean nobody in Africa has money to get AC, why don’t those with AC catch corona, does it mean there is AC everywhere in Australia including the beaches, does it mean Australian are always in AC everywhere and never experience sun? Can’t u see how child-like those questions are?? Also u totally pay no attention to my repeatedly telling u that Australia is NOT a hot spot for corona. It has virtually no corona compared to the hot spots so it is the wrong place to use as example of a place with rampant corona. Same way u totally ignore my pointing out that it is not all about wether, that they have very high traffic with China. Hope now u understand my frustrations. It’s been nice chatting with ya
|
Re: Coronavirus: Ayo Alaba Idowu, Birdview Group Boss Speaks On Infected UK Returnee by lexy2014: 9:55pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
CanadaOrBust: Tnx for not wanting to leave me on a bad note. That's very thoughtful of u. Summer refers to d warmest time of d year and winter refers to d coldest time of d year. These terms are usually used in foreign parlance. They aren't part of our lingua but they describe geographic phenomena that we experience year in, year out in Nigeria. I don't believe I ever argued with u as to whether Australia was a hot spot or not. I also don't think u are in a position to decide which example I should give or not even if it doesn't suit ur narrative. Australia has d virus with more than 1,300 cases. In my opinion, its a very good example. When u make statements like this: "A country has to be warm AND humid (tropical) AND relatively poor (otherwise there’d be too much air conditioning and corona will spread indoors)" or "It is easier to spread corona if the hospital were cold than if it were warm" and "otherwise there’d be too much air conditioning and corona will spread indoors)", u definitely are going to get questions in d nature that I asked. Others like "THE AC HAS TO BE ALL OVER", are objects of scrutiny. Like I mentioned earlier, if u are a student of science as u claim, u wouldn't have problems with questions being asked u because that is what science is about. Except ur suppositions are based on faith& religion which doesn't leave room for questioning. According to u, d questions I asked are "infantile". U also said that I have a "child like mind" and that I ask questions like a kid. But on two occasions that I remember, u said u are frustrated, frustration which u have expressed with d above labelling. I don't get it. How can a person u so described frustrate u? U supposed to be better than me based on d labels, yet u acknowledged that u are frustrated. Can an infant frustrate an adult? Based on both variables and d reality of life, I might not be d cause of ur frustration. All d best |

lexy2014: Bingo! This is exactly what I mean by frustration. In discussing the weather I assumed everybody knows what is meant by Northern and Southern Hemispheres, but somehow u don’t. Since that is not the point of the discussion, let’s put it this way: only countries north and south of the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn have summer and winter. U like that better? See below
|
Re: Coronavirus: Ayo Alaba Idowu, Birdview Group Boss Speaks On Infected UK Returnee by lexy2014: 12:42pm On Mar 23, 2020 |
CanadaOrBust: Earlier u said this: CanadaOrBust: From what u said here, d tropics exist outside d northern and southern hemispheres. Hows that possible? Did u redesign d earth or u have another definition of northern & southern hemispheres? In what hemispheres do d tropic of Capricorn and cancer fall into? Since u say I don't know d meanings of northern and southern hemisphere, can u kindly provide ur own meaning? Maybe u no something Wikipedia doesn't. Pls look at these definitions so that they can guide ur next response. Are d authors of d definition below wrong? Am sure its getting more and more glaring that if u look in mirror, it will effortlessly reveal d source of ur frustration

lexy2014: Lol. See what I mean by frustration from child-like. IN DISCUSSING THE WEATHER NORTHERN OR SOUTHERN ANYTHING MEANS NORTH OR SOUTH OF THE TROPICS!!!! The people writing those things u posted take it for granted (like me) that everybody knows that. They don’t realize there are people like you who think weather magically changes once u cross a thin invisible line called the equator!! U r different sir. If I were discussing this with anyone else this won’t come up, just like wether Australia is totally covered by AC wouldn’t have come up! |
Re: Coronavirus: Ayo Alaba Idowu, Birdview Group Boss Speaks On Infected UK Returnee by CanadaOrBust: 1:30pm On Mar 23, 2020 |
lexy2014: Your screenshot below proves my point. By Northern and Southern Hemispheres they mean north and south of the tropics. THOSE SEASONS DO NOT EXIST IN PLACES WITHIN THE TROPICS, LIKE NIGERIA!! The temperature stays approximately same year round!!

So u aren't in d same shoes. Let me help u out. Let's start with d basics. What is a hemisphere? In which of d hemispheres do d tropics fall into? In d map below, was any allowance given 4 tropics to exist outside d hemispheres?

lexy2014: I am not ambiguous at all. You keep overlooking the most important part: IN DISCUSSING THE WEATHER!!! If u say “Right now it is winter in the northern hemisphere”, everybody (except u) understands u mean north of the tropics, they know u don’t mean Lagos and Accra and Senegal, etc You have learnt something.
