CORONAVIRUS: LASG to Shut down Schools

As part of the preventive measures against the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Lagos State Government is closing down all public and private schools from Monday, 23rd March 2020.

The move becomes necessary to prevent our children and their teachers from getting more vulnerable to the pandemic.

It is important for parents to ensure that their children practise ‘social distancing’ while at home, wash their hands regularly or use hand sanitizers and observe high standards of personal hygiene.
Children should be encouraged to remain at home.

The closure is not intended to create panic but to arrest the spread of the disease, which has become a global threat.

The Incident Command Centre, headed by the Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is the Incident Commander, will continue to trace all contacts of the identified cases and encourage anyone who has information about suspected cases to report to the nearest hospital or call the emergency telephone numbers 08023169485, 08033565529, 08052817243 and 08023401214.

Good move... But I tot they said kids can easily knock off the virus... Pls protect our elderly populace too... They go tru a lot trying to make ends meet. Will u tell a man who has been standing at the bus stop for hours that when the bus finally comes he shouldn't rush in and avoid body contacts?

Shut down Lagos for one week let's see

Good move, the country as a whole should act now before we get into a crisis situation. "One of you shall chase a 1000, two shall put 10000 to flight". That the case of this virus. Soon as you go beyond two cases, there is a lot to worry about. Italy was almost an exponential growth and I hope we haven't gotten to that threshold. Cox in a twinkle, it will just overburden our medical structure
Re: CORONAVIRUS: LASG To Shut Down Schools by HigherEd:
Good move. However Nigeria ought to have banned flights from coming into the country as early as late February. We can't handle an outbreak.

If only they had stopped the flights and call buhari out for not doing so. This virus seems to be coming for people in their age bracket. So why they acted all non-chalant is beyond me

I don't even care, it will soon hit ASO ROCK and no more foreign medical tour.
We'll all die here.
