Corona Virus Scourge: Ijaw Villages And Villagers Are At Risk. by TonyeBarcanista(m): 12:45pm On Mar 19, 2020 |
Dear Ijaws, Perhaps this may make some sense or it wouldn't, but please do well to consider. You will agree with me that our people (especially, Ijaw towns) are lacking potable water. Mostly, some of our people in the village drink from the sea/rivers etc. We (and them), defecate in the open river. The Nigerian State have failed to do the needful to curb this Corona virus scourge. Yes, they have closed the airports or restricted some flights from designated destinations. But, what about the seaports, our land and seas etc? The oil facilities, rigs etc? From the public health perspective, an infected person can transmit the virus innocuously when he or she spits or defecates in the open river. And, our people drink from the open river. Think about this. I think we (the IYC, INC, Bayelsa State Government, RVSG, Delta State government etc) should engage the Federal ministry of Health to do the needful. We should not focus only on our airports and flights that come from infected areas or Countries, our land and seas are major areas to look into. I am, Maobuye Nangi Obu IYC-2020 Presidential Aspirant 08035667827. |

Why is it that when you guys want to go into politics that you remember your people? You used the same people to call yourselves militants, activists and leaders. After collecting money, positions and leadership, you left the same people worse off than you met them. They still cannot even go back to their traditional trade and work because their environment is so polluted, nothing can survive there. Ijaw, their neighbors and people of Goodwill must come together to save their land from opportunists. |

How do we know it's not yellow fever or swine flu or just normal cold. This is like bathing in the river and soap enters your eyes. Are ijaws not living close to the river? Why can't they wash their hands or take a bath? I'm sure these write up is written by someone staying abroad. |
