So far as it's an accredited University you should be fine. Don't overburden yourself or your family by going to a very expensive "top" University. CS, CIS, Data Science etc are highly applicable in many sectors here, all you have to do is to learn in-demand tools. Also be prepared for the intense competition for STEM jobs, but that's how Naija has trained us smiley

it’s definitely looking like it would be shifted, all indicators point to it, it’s quite sad but that’s the situation we currently find ourselves, let’s hope and pray.

It's actually very necessary they suspend interviews with the amount of people trooping into the embassy daily. They're also humans and are not immune to diseases.

Hello,
I'm new here. I just heard about this forum and would appreciate any help I can get. I applied for MBA for fall 2020, I've gotten my i20 and I'm just waiting for things to get back to normal before applying for visa.
This is my proposed transcript for my visa interview.

VO:Why are you going to the US?
Me:I'm going to the US to pursue an MBA at St. Ambrose University, Davenport iowa.
VO:Why MBA?
Me: my experience from working as a Junior Accounting Officer, a Tax compliant Officer and currently an Accounting Officer has provided me with a solid business foundation that I am willing to develop. It is also a good choice for my career, I will be able to learn new ideas, business strategies and applicable skills that will help me to run and manage our Lagos branch effectively and successfully.
VO:How many schools did you apply to?
Me:I applied to 3 schools. Georgia state university, Texas a&m university, commerce, and st. Ambrose University, iowa.
VO: How many admit did you get?
Me: I got admitted in all.
Vo:why st.ambrose?
Me:their college of business offers concentration on the course i really want to do that is leadership and strategic planning which is a fusion of 2 different areas accompanied with fascinating course curriculum. It also has to do with the student-faculty relationship I have built with my potential supervisor Prof.David O'connell, his journal on leadership and organisational development made me interested in him.we skyped a couple times and we have chosen a research topic that I'm really excited about.
Vo: How are you going to pay your fees?
Me:my uncle who is also my employer will be sponsoring my tuition and cost of living during my studies. He is a business man who deals in top brand electronics and furniture. He wants me to run the lagos,Ikeja branch and so needs me to get adequate training to prepare me for this role as the branch manager. His current earnings per annum is ...... (at this point hand over the bank statement)
Why did you choose US to study your mba?
The US style of education is flexible and it allows me to choose courses based on my interests. It will also give more weightage to my resume as it will have global acceptance.

Lol, that's life Baba. Zero your mind and keep yourself busy because as far as there is still a travel ban into the US due to the virus, everything will be on hold.

Thank you for the help so far.

I got a PhD admission to MCB at Ohio University with full tuition waiver and teaching assistantship. My i-20 came in last week and there was no deficit. However, I was asked to hold $2k for initial survival.
Stated on the i-20, program starts August 12, 2020
Class begins August 24, 2020
Earliest admission date: july 13, 2020.

MY ENQUIRIES:
1. Can I go ahead and pay my SEVIS fee now? Who can you refer to help me with making the payment in USA?

2. Should I go ahead and make my Visa payment and pick an appointment date now? Won't it be too early considering that August is the resumption. If not, when will be the right time to apply?

Thank you

Boss how did you pay for your i-20?
Is it via wire transfer?

The best bet is to use eshipglobal and pay via paypal. The bank charge for wire transfer is almost equivalent to the approximately $80 you'll be asked to pay.

I'm just kidding... I think you can start preparing for GRE first and aim for a good score, then other application process should be found in this thread and if you're lost at any point, just come back here and ask your question, this forum Would always be here for you.
