This is a good routine. Keep it up. Eating twice a day is good.

Breakfast is overrated. All the “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” isn’t all that the actually. Newer research has shown.

This is not to encourage late meals BTW.

But eating between 11am and 6pm has proven for most people to be the best pattern for weight and blood glucose control.

Most people will tell you they don’t usually feel hungry early in the morning. And that’s because when we wake up from sleep the body usually goes into glycogenesis breaking down sugars in the liver for immediate glucose needs. Early Heavy Breakfast often leads to sugar highs and more fat storage.

Unless the person has a personal routine that encourages fat burning throughout the day, eating a big breakfast and following up with lunch and dinner will cause inevitable weight gain. Skip one.

.
I need that weight gain badly

One meal a day.
Oh...OK
Think about incorporating vegetables and fruits into your diet, including nuts.
You'd feel light and more active, but never hungry.

What do you think about eating just fruits for a month?

It is not healthy.
It'll increase your blood sugar, plus, you'd be depriving yourself of other essential nutrients.
You need a meal plan?

OK.
To maintain a healthy weight, I'd say go more on protein foods than carbohydrates.
Plant based foods like beans are really good for you. They make you feel full for longer and help you maintain a steady weight.
Pottage beans, moimoi, akara are very good options.
You can have any with pap.
Eggs are good also with boiled sweet potatoes, yam or plantain.
You don't have to be completely full before you stop eating.
Have a fruit or vegetable to complete your meal: orange, cucumber, apple, banana, water melon ...

If you want Asian rice, jasmine rice is waaay better than basmati.

You're welcome.

There are good options.
We're just lacking in creativity on how to incorporate them into our daily diet.
I'd say we're more of creatively lazy and are stuck with our old diets than we lack options.

Foods like sorghum and fonio are not fully explored ( who knows what other ones are out there that we haven't even discovered yet), and they're packed with nutrients upon nutrients and are gluten free. They're an excellent choice for diabetics.

In other parts of the world, the new generation are creating new healthier cuisines that have become staples.
I believe we should do the same rather than complain, or we might be stuck with our ancestors' cuisines for the rest of our lives cheesy

Hello Foodies/Chefs!!

With Joy in my heart, I wish to announce to you guys that I am now a Pastry Chef. I graduated on Thursday.
Culinary School was hard for me but local boy scaled through. There were times i requested for deferment but peeps kept encouraging me and boosting my weakened morale.

Thanks all for your kind words. Next stop is Cuisine chef course...I don't know when but it will happen by God's grace.. Amen!

The fruit tart was my exam work.
Crust (dough) was made with Pâté sableé dough, filling was a combination of Lemon curd and strawberry compote. Topping Swiss meringue mixed with pastry cream. strawberry and banana slices.

In addition to her reply, get fresh okra if you want that slime. Pick one and use your thumb to take the tip off. If it gives way, it is fresh...if it resists, it is already getting dry and there is not much you can do if you cook such.
