Anyone who has the courage to walk upto a testing center is supposed to be tested

Must he show symptoms and then must have shared the virus for free around before he can be tested??

My brother it's simple...observe self isolation for 14days and when you eventually show symptoms, you can then call the ncdc or the emergency numbers.

Why did you go for the test, are you coming from any of the high risk country or you had contact with any of the infected patients?
Covid 19 is not malaria that you will walk in into any hospital to perform a test
Did you read the guy's narration at all or you just want to show your shallow self?

the way you guys express your ignorance is baffling. You will blame everyone except yourself. What magic were you expecting at the surgical emergency in lasuth. What you know nothing about, stop contributing to it. An xray of that hand must be done to know the extent of the injury before any surgical intervention. That will even determine what intervention to institute. Blood work up must be done. In some centers D-dimer must be done. These will assist in the proper intervention to do. But you will ignorantly come out to say rubbish. Now with the results you got, they have told you he will need amputation up to the elbow according to you. But u have chosen to "contemplate", thereby killing time. By the time you are ready, necrosis may have gone up to the shoulder joint. Then you will come back here to blame lasuth again. Or you foolishly resort to herbalist. By the time they are critically done with him, you will come back to lasuth with almost a corpse at the point it will be too late. You will start whinning how doctors killed him. He had the accident at 5:30am, u conveniently failed to tell us when you took him to the hospital in ikorodu. Rushed to tell us they delayed till 3pm. They only did dressing. That is first aid. If they don't have an orthopedic surgeon, then they did exactly what they should have done. I know for sure they won't keep him. They would refer him to a centre like lasuth. And you here spilling lies.

I hate reading comments like yours... So you couldn't have made your point without abusing him?

So all those test(at lasuth) you mentioned above should take upto 5hours?

@Ekejoestar.
The country is not prepared for COVID-19. The test kit is very expensive . why do you think everyone reported case is sent to Lagos state.
For your ENT case, I can recommend an audiologist for you.

Brother, its the same. The similarity between our posts is proceedure or protocol.

What value is the urgent emergency unit when the time-wasting proceedure cannot be met? Read my story again.

What if the guy in the thread story died while following the time wasting proceedures? Imagine from one organisation to hospital to another hospital in another location because of a test. Covid-19 is killing while adding stress and struggle to round it up. Useless policies!! Useless proceedures!!

undecided I'm not surprised at all...my once and only visit to the general hospital in my town back in 2006 taught me alot of lessons...the "i-don't-care" attitude of our nurses and doctors may even compel a covid19 victim to wish for quick death...the way they'd bash and scold you alone go be like say you miss the last penalty-kick for world cup final..

And I will try to pass the virus to them.

did he tell the whole truth? No. Do you know the number of people awaiting such tests? No. So don't sit in your room and make assumptions on things you know nothing about. Before you go to saner climes, do you know in U.K, prior to covid-19, people stayed on the wait list for 8 weeks just to see a general practitioner? Reason they opened their gates to foreign doctors. You guys just open your mouth and spew thrash from a cesspool of ignorance.

The procedure is one all over the world,if you feel you've come in contact with an affected person, simply observe 14day self isolation for the symptoms to show, that way you can get tested hassle free, not for everyone to be going about saying they want to get tested.

I've been sitting here with one guy since 1hr plus now and there is no one that has attended to us and all the nurses were just going up and down.
What made me to sit this long was because of this ENT issue at LUTH if not for that, i wouldnt have waited this long just to get tested.
-i noticed that the staffs were being reluctant to carryout the test or maybe they dont have the test kit, and if the later is the issue then its a A BIG SHAME.

I cant wait any longer, i'll have to go and wait until (if) the pandemic is over.
My FELLOW NIGERIANS, MAY GOD HELP US IN THIS COVID-19 ISSUE.

Pls go and corroborate my story and if anyone have any idea on how to get tested and the procedures involved, let the person share with us.

Bros,

You need to know the rules. Globally the rule is that you don't get tested until it is symptomatic. There is not enough testing kits in any country, so testing is only reserved for symptomatic patients.

If all the doctors in the public hospitals adopt this kind stance and approach, then it is over for the citizens. The virus will simply spread like harmattan fire, even she herself won't be safe anymore whether she attends to patients or not.
Then, what exactly was she doing at the hospital since she made up her mind not to attend to any patient?
A pandemic is not an emergency. She is not superman

Stop being a blockhead. The contagion in Covid-19 and Ebola is not the same. Even Liberia could control it. How much more Nigeria?

Stop being a foolish person.
Ebola first emerged in Liberia in 2014 (On 30 March 2014) and ran till 2015 (3 September 2015). That is more than one year.

Nigeria's started in July 2014 and ended in October 2014. It is only foolish people that compare 4 months to 18 months.

Do Buhari's daughter completed her 14days self isolation to show the symptoms before sending her for test?

Do the incoming travelers that are tested positive started or completed their 14days isolation period before the sypmtoms and test?

How about those who are tested positive without showing the symptoms and without self isolation in other nations?

What happened to the millions or billions from tax payers' funds disbursed and supported to curb the spread in urgent and emergent ways? Do they grow wings?

Hey!! Think well! You have right to be tested before you spread it while planning for self isolation, as funds are released.

now, dont blame it on the hospital or the doctors. Put the blame on you and i. Those bottlenecks were just set up as a result of corruption perpetuated by people like you and i. If you dont go here to pay and there to record and another place to submit, one man will sit down and collect all those moneys if it were to be done at one point. Since he will be the collector of the money and the recorder. So the bottlenecks you see are as a result of our horrible attitudes. The time lag from presentation in the hospital to intervention can be reduced if we on our own decide to do away with corruption.
