See don't listen to people like this. When you go hungry they will never give you money just hold the money for yourself, if God is really omnibenevolent like they always say he will forgive you because he understands the situation.

It's between you and your God..not you and your church or pastor..because scripturally as a christian you pay tithe to Jesus in church..so if you don't want to pay because of circumstance..will Jesus understand?...thats between you and him..not you and church or pastor..as some church as big as mine won't even know if you paid tithe or not...but the results cannot always lie.Over to you..do as you please..afterall The bible didn't say na by force to pay tithe before some church haters will start barking..like dogs.

Tithing was instituted in the OT by Moses because the children of Israel didn’t love to give to the needy in the community - their heart was wicked. It was also mandatory.

In the NT, giving is not mandatory but it must come from a cheerful and ready heart. The mode of giving in the NT according to Luke 6:38: Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure-pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return." If you understand this verse, it is saying: be ready to give more than you have - over 100%. However, God is the one who creates the need and by His spirit, He works in you to will and to do His good pleasure - attend to the need He has created. (Think of the widow that fed Elijah for a year).

Also, Christ said if we give, the left hand shouldn’t know what the right hand is doing - a metaphor for saying it should be anonymous. Is tithe giving anonymous? Doesn’t someone see your name on your tithe card and know how much you give?

I pray that you understand that there is no stipulated measure according to the words of Jesus (Your heart determines everything). All He says to us is: without me, you can’t do anything.

Trust the Lord Jesus for His understanding of your situation; He will not give you a burden you can’t carry. Keep your money until God requires it from you (the time is not now).

It shows the type of spirituality and religiosity we practice here, I tried as much as possible to be polite and respectful with communication with you.

But we all know that both tithers are non tithers visit the hospital, I know because I take my elderly mom there every month

Go to motuaries and cemeteries both tithers and non tithers are brought there every day.

First Bank sack about 1000 workers in January both tithers and non tithers were affected, in fact a lady who was affected just paid her first fruit on Sunday and got sacked on Monday.

So Nigerians have been brainwashed to this extent. You are even asking if you've sinned. May God deliver you.

Donate that money to a hospital or buy hand sanitizers for your poor neighbours. This is more Godly.
Three kinds of people you can never advise.
1.Those in love
2. Those with money
3. Those that don't research
The guy falls in the last category hence your brilliant idea won't make meaning to him.

Christianity starts and ends with love.

Please pay, it shows you have faith in God not in the money. You will be surprised how a little will take you far because of obedience. No matter what people says I keep paying my tithe because it is working for me. Besides I am doing it because the bible says so. Malachi 3:10

Having said that, you should pay your tithe. Because the Bible says you should try him in paying your tithe and see if he will not open the windows of heaven and pour out his blessings.

So this may be the right time to prove him on his word. Faith may look foolish in the eyes of men, but know that you can never be a fool for Faith.

I'm not a fanatic but for the concept of tithing, the one receiving should always be superior to the one giving the tithe..... Therefore, giving to the less privileged is just charity not tithe per say... Heb 7 explains it better.

Your way of reasoning is the reason a lot of folks don't pay tithe!..... I so much detest this. I get turned off when any Pastor starts with this concept of window. What window, What test are you subjecting God to!
I tell people, all your so called income in a month is as a result of God's grace isn't it?... But the foolish you wants to give him 10% of it for him to open a window grin .
Now think about it this way, you have a child in a boarding house. You sent him 10k at the end of the month. Now your child decided to give you 1k out of the same 10k you gave him with the aim of receiving more cash from you..... You'll laugh isn't it.

You should give your tithe as a life style and in appreciation of the 100% God has blessed you with, Not with the aim of getting him to open another window... *Appreciation* should be our mindset not *getting* *more* in return while having it at the back of your mind that this God gave his only begotten son. Only o...! Yet we give him one foolish meagre 10% and we are still expecting him to open one window. Awon Ole mschewwww tongue

Nobody said it had anything to do with God because both the Godly in quote and the so called ungodly suffered the same fate.

You are the one who said tithers will have certain advantages over the non tithers. But both tithers and non tithers prosper, tithers and non tithers are also struggling financially

So you mean I can not give a percent of what I earn to the poor?

If that is the case, charity and almsgiving is better than tithing

My dear friend, recall that popular verse, *for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.. Matthew 6:21.
As a Christian, who God is to us should reflect in how much we treasure him, our value system. It's a good culture to set an amount aside (intentionally), a constant percentage in keeping with your income every month, for the things of God. By doing that, you've made him lord over your finance. A percentage of the set aside percentage goes straight to your church, then your offering, alms etc. The collected funds in the early church was well utilized but it's a pity what we have in this our current dispensation. But I will always stand with Obedience to the word of God! Any minister that chooses do the wrong thing will answer for it. Mine is just to OBEY!
