We get it that the economy is harsh,coronavirus pandemic which has caused lockdown in businesses etc but the rate at which fellow nigerians now beg is shameful...Most people that beg for money online for health, to pay school fees and so on, are just advanced Almajiris with smartphones and data...

Many online beggars are able-bodied men and women that have taken begging as a profession.these set of people that have taken begging as their means of livelihood are upping the ante daily, coming up with fresh begging scams.

Flipping through threads on nairaland especially the Ashewo Beer Parlour thread,Celebrity twitter threads there is no day you wouldnt see this Almajiris shameless begging even taking it further begging and posting Nigeria bank accounts numbers under international Twitter and Instagram influencers and celebrities posts and comments,this lots are disgracing our country Nigeria and this needs to stop...

Calling on Online beggars association of Nigeria (OBAN), headquartered on Nairaland to put a stop to this shameful act before we become a laughingstock to the rest of the world

OP, abeg park well, what's to be ashamed about in begging? I chose to beg, you chose to do yahoo, some other people's father chose to steal or loot, some other ones chose to scam, yet some others chose to trade, its a free world. check the top 5 richest beggars in the world, they are millionaires and they are not hurting anybody.
