I love the way you and pope191 did justice to the question asked by peeps4u.

In addition, I would say it is imparative in the case of accident for both the driver and the owner to come together and work it out because to me the property belongs virtually to both parties since its creating income for both ends.

Not all owner partners have that much and as a matter of fact most of them depend on the weekly remittance to keep up with their family so it will be inhuman for anyone to be reckless or dont contribute incase of repairs that requires huge sum of money.

My opinion though I might be wrong.
This is making sense, driver should at least try not to be insensitive

First and foremost, when a partner gives you a car in good condition, you're expected to take care of it, and drop it in good condition too grin

But life is unpredictable. In a case where the driver is involved in an accident that is clearly not his fault, I expect the driver to hold the "cause" responsible. Either they pay for the damage on the car, or you activate their third party cover(we talked about that sometime last year or two years)

But in all, if a car is comprehensively insured,it takes care of everything. There's peace of mind, and also, the partner can still discipline the driver with ease grin

In all, the driver is responsible for the car. So that's why as a driver

-Dont overspeed
-Stop dragging lanes with cars
-Keep adequate distance between you and the car in front
-Learn to drive defensively
-Use your senses when overtaking.
-Still pray for God's protection

Izzou you are always on point, big ups bro

As per the other Ogas, make I clear throat .. ( I speak for myself only). The prices of my goods and services will stay low as always. We not jacking up prices..

USA Castrol oil will be on sale this week, before you go spend double the amount of your imported engine oil elsewhere . Wait patiently and it will worth the wait....

This is my own little contribution during these period.

Outside insurance being the best policy... Even if there is insurance in place, agreement should b adhere too. This one part I noticed an average Nigerian does not consider serious, you pen an agreement like Mikel and in no time start looking for ways to buy out of it with different excuses and how inconsiderate the agreement was drafted.

Either the owner, driver or they should both b liable and to what ratio in case of foreseen and unforeseen event should b put in agreement.

If this COVID-19 originated from Africa, I'm sure all these western countries would have taken proactive measures to prevent or curtail its spread into their countries.

Nigeria, like many African countries, had chance and time to contain the spead of this virus before it escalated. Now, everyone is on lockdown now; paying the price of govt's failure to heed to our earlier cry to close borders.

This 14-day lock down is going to be tough, not forgetting many have started their lockdown last week.

Honestly it's gonna be tough. Like I mentioned here last week most Nigerians survive from their daily income.

Most uber/taxify drivers don't have savings.

Most market women too don't have a saving apart from what they save to restock their shops/stands.

Most mechanics dont have savings.

Even our civil servant and most private sector workers run out of cash even before their next pay day. Some of them even use large percentage of their salary to service debt while some start counting down to the next pay day from 15th of every month.

So this lockdown will be tougher than we anticipated. To make it worst the president in his speech last night didnt mention anything on how his citizen will sustain during this period.

Like I said before, hunger will kill people (especially the poor) more than this virus in the coming days.

Personally, I think an Uber driver who has been active in the business for at least one year and doesn't hv savings has a personal problem.

Just my opinion tho
