Why Abia Tailor Turned To Facemask Production by chatinent(op): 7:10am On Apr 03, 2020
Respite came the way of people of Umuatako Community in Aba
as they can now protect themselves from contacting oronavirus
as one of them, Mrs Jecinthia Kakaide, decided to produce and
distribute facemasks to them free of charge,
People in the community can now put on the facemasks following
the decision of Mrs Jecinthia Kakaide to embark and initially
distribute freely her locally made nose masks to her neighbours
and members of her community.
When our reporter visited her, Mrs. Kakaide said she took the
decision when she noticed many of her people could not afford to
buy a facemask.
She said the price of a facemask has gone up to N600 a piece in
Aba, which many of them found it difficult to afford because of
their poor economic status.

According to her, she has so far produced over 300 and shared it
to the young people, who are always on the streets.
“I just want to help people, because the foreign facemasks is
expensive and we can’t afford it. It is dangerous for one to be
walking up and down without the nose masks that’s why I
embark on the production.
“I have made efforts to reach a commissioner in the government,
who told me to continue the production, and promised that
government will come to my aid.”
She said she used Ankara materials to produce them.
Speaking on the production process, Mrs Jacinthia said after
sewing the masks she soaks them in detergent and hot water
before giving them out for use.
Kakaide said she has started selling each at N150 naira.
Mr. Okechukwu Lawrence, a member of the community, who
had also purchased one described it as ‘good and comfortable to
use.’
Lawrence said he has purchased three to share among members
of his household.

Aba the textile capital of Africa
Nnewi the Japan of Africa
Ontisha the biggest market in Africa.

Yet the Federal Government neglected the region not to talk of the governor's in the states(both past and present)

If the govt will pay attention to these areas and others like Kano, kadunna, ibadan,Jos etc Nigeria will be like China.
Re: Why Abia Tailor Turned To Facemask Production by Biafrarep(m):
Great!!
This is why I love Igbos, unlike others, they never wait helplessly for the unreliable government to come to their rescue but will rather go out on their own and get things done for the benefit of all.

They keep trying had to force the narrative that Igbos like money and are greedy but reality have always proven them wrong time and time again. During the Biafran war, Igbo ingenuity came to the fore as we produced refined petroleum oil, war equipment and diverse other technological and scientific research exploits which we used to prosecute while Nigeria had to wait on Britain and Russia among others to send Armada of ships.

Look at what happened during the xenophobic attacks in SA, another Igbo man came to the rescue and sent aircrafts to airlift Nigerians FREE OF CHARGE! Look at the list of people that donated money to the federal government to help fight Corona virus, it looked like a roll call of Igbos, even the so called richest Black man and black woman among others who benefitted immmensely from the highly nepotistic Nigeria could only give peanuts yet it is the same Igbos they hate with passion that populate the list.

Go to our communities and see what is called philanthropy. There is virtually no village in Igboland that you will not see the wealthy ones building schools, health centers, houses, giving scorlaships, loans etc to the people.

Look at how Innoson volunteered to start manufacturing ventilators, look at how the company bailed out the military on several occasions. Look at how Aba has continued to supply the whole country with household goods which the lazy sh!tholeans take pride in calling fake. Which one will I mention and leave the other on how Igbos have been using their human resources to help Nigeria but what do we get in return? Hate, envy, jelousy, wickedness etc.

They will take a loan which everyone will contribute in paying back but they will not spend a dime of it in the SE! The only International airport in our zone was closed on spurious reasons even when we travel the most in the country! They continue to build rails in other zones but neglect the SE! What about the federal roads?
Even in elections, we will vote for those we believe are competent but they will use their witchcraft judiciary to impose their puppet.

In America, even a black man from Kenya ruled them but in Nigeria, they combined and vowed that Igboman will never rule.

When it comes to education, they will claim to be backward and less advantaged and thus allocate themselves zero cutoff marks for admission while giving Igbos the highest cutoff marks. What they shamelessly call quota system but when it comes to appointment of capable hands to administer the country, they will abandon meritocracy and still go back to the same places they claimed are backward less advantaged to appoint blockheads!!

Go to SA, US, Liberia, UK etc and see Igbos being appointed to sensitive positions by countries that desire to advance but in their own country, the worst re.tards are the ones calling the shots!!

There is a reason why Nigeria has remained in this state and there is a reason why the Igbos want out!!!

You know I've always wondered and ask myself why Nigeria depends so much on foreigners for very basic things like nosemask, gloves, etc.

The Igboman never gives up. Every challenging situation is an opportunity for him to finding solutions and cashing out. Their ingenuity is second to none in Africa. Just as the Biafran war was an opportunity for them to express their inborn inventive skills through the weapons they developed indigenously, the military era became an opportunity for them to offer Nigerians alternative and cheaper products, which was popularly known Aba Made.

The quality may be in doubt, but give it to them, they always make effort to improve their situation, while others spend their time complaining about their situation without any effort.
