I just think it's unfair as they are on the frontline as well. If they can't atleast extend their visas (whatever visa they're on), then they owe them a great deal of appreciation for what they are doing.

fatima04:
Salary requirement for one and also getting a sponsor. Doubt HCA is on the shortage occupation list, so they have to show the usual advert requirement and how they couldn't get someone to fill the position
DaveChapelle:
HCA job is not anything special. It's like auxilliary nurse. Even students or undergraduates can get a job as HCA, so there's no need to bring people from abroad on visa yet. However, a HCA can be your boss tomorrow, as they are usually doing it as an interim post while thngs get batter. A HCA in my previous hospital is a rota coordinator in my Trust now. And iknew a prospective medical student who was doing HCA to save money for medical school

If Chloroquine is helping in other countries, why is the NHS not using it? The number of deaths in the UK is frightening.
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by damoche64: 10:29am On Apr 05, 2020
I ran a small statistics yesterday on numbers of recover cases against the total infected in most of the worst hit countries. UK fare worst with just 0.3% recovery rate, germany has over 30% while Iran is around 16%, France, USA over 10% and over 20% in Italy. Nigeria over 10% recovery rate. France, Italy, US possible Nigeria are usually chloroquine treatment but I doubt if UK is treating people at all if we compare the figures available 4 now. If anyone is working frontline here, can you explain the treatment regime u are apply for the virus?

I think it's also being trialled in the UK along with other drugs. Most countries using it as trails rather than definite treatment imo

Not a good statement at all. These HCA are also takes care of those covid patients that tested positive. They should receive accolade. Have u seen the way these HCA work in the hospital?? Then u should withdraw that statement. I believe everyone should try to recognise and respect ones job.
I believed you missed the point and just went on the defensive. It all started from the news not treating HCA deaths as important. No one insinuated that they are not important and tbh you dont know the kind of role I do or my family does. My statement was just stating the fact that they are not entitled to Tier 2 sponsorship ma

Hmmmn not to preempt what was on his mind oo, but this was just trying to buttress how UKVI and possibly the UK government views their role. It was just a response to why HCA isnt on shortage occupation list

Why would the recovery rate be higher? They politely asked them to social distance, small sun comot, they are all sunbathing........

The NHS is simply overwhelmed, the situation is dire..........

When you have a hospital converting all wards to COVID19 (100%).......

The worse has not even started.... It's just the beginning, until we peak at 1000+ deaths a day.....

NB : Who else is listening to Majid on LBC?

Hmmmn, possibly but the rest of his statement doesn't sound like he underestimates them and considering he is a nurse as well and would have performed similar role to that of HCA at some point.

My own statement as innocent as it was, also triggered feelings

As a science Teacher here, we are the one to determine the students grades and results for the national examinations that was cancelled this year. My inbox is already flooded with all my students begging for A's. We are also key workers undecided

This is one of the most complex part of this covid decisions. Why couldn't they just postpone the exams or make the universities conduct exams like our own post utme or whatsitcalled...
I can see many people going to court over predicted grades vs final grades...ko easy mehn

Her position unfortunately became untenable......

The cleaner and hospital porters job is special. If there was no one to clean the wards I sure it will be closed down or to move the patient from one part of the hospital to another. Just like the baggage handlers at the airport if they go on strike flights will be cancelled. Everybody’s job is as important as the next. If the shop workers go on strike where would you buy your groceries. All these individual jobs are what keeps the Nation moving.
I think you guys are misreading my comments... Obviously every job is important and I recognise some people do these jobs here. I was speaking in relative terms ie... Shortage occupation. If you read my comment properly and what I was replying to. Of course all jobs are important. My point is as to why you are unlikely to find a HCA on a tier 2 visa, because it is not a shortage occupation. And this is because of the minimal requirements needed to work as a HCA vs say being a Doctor or I. T. Also, the educational requirements needed. And experience needed. Read that as you may, no undergraduate can get a job as a medical doctor without going to school. Do you get my interpretation now?
