Humans were less sympathetic before they learnt to be more forgiving. We were "eye for an eye" before we "turned the other cheek". We would not have needed to be taught the Golden Rule if we did not have to learn it. And one, if not, the more universal of ways to teach it has been religion.
Humans were sympathetic, anyways.
"Less sympathetic" is another topic.

Were humans unforgiving before religion entered their heads?
History shows more conflict and wars, so not so much. Or is it your position that an increase in consciousness has not increased our sympathy towards one another?

When you close your eyes in death, where will you appear in judgment?

Have you given this a thought?

I expected a 'yes' or a 'no' actually.

You being god again, or just simplistic?

Humans were generally much less forgiving than we are today. Just about every society was "an eye for an eye" in the past but not so much so today, and I'll say religious education contributed a lot to the change.

Is it not true that if we did not teach you to love your neighbours you will love them less than you currently do, and if we do not teach your neighbours to love you, you would likely rather not live next to them?

Love is conditional.
If you act crazy towards me,I could be scared of you actually and vice versa.
Nobody loves that which scares him or her.
And that's psychology 101.

Indeed, love is conditional. That's why we teach it to you and your neighbour. After all, we do not expect either of you to live next to an unloving satan.

Imagine you and your neighbours learn to consider fewer things to be crazy so you have less to be scared of, won't you then at least tolerate more, if not love each other?

Is it not "psychology" also to influence you and your neighbours to be sympathetical towards one another?

Is Stockholm Syndrome not a description of "loves that which scares him or her"?

Stockholm syndrome is a mental disorder..
You don't teach people to be like that.

I'm not teaching anyone to be mentally disordered, just that we learn to have sympathy for each other because I believe it will make us more productive. Besides, most things that most fear are due to a mental disorder they have, like ignorance.

Take you and I. We seem to be sympathetic to the others position so we are not tearing each other apart. Is that not a good thing? Is it not because we have learnt to be civil?

All the same, I am assisting you mentally. Thinking and reasoning right is much more rewarding than money. And before you ask, my conditional gain is one more intelligent person to discuss with.

It is finished.
We've got billions of people suffering like no god regards them while they regard these gods.
But you believe that I am not thinking right simply because I stated facts about certain things.
Need you undermine the importance of money ?
If I had extra, I would have given out too.
I can be generous too.
I can actually be generous to religious people too cos I can be sympathetic too.
It's just a giveaway.
There's nothing attached to it except mere sympathy towards a person that never really attempted to harm you or a person that never called you names or a person that never attempted to steal from you.

I think most people suffer (apart from the normal suffering that all living beings suffer as a consequence of living, i.e. hunger, death and the likes), because they do not regard the gods. If people did properly regarded the gods, they too may suffer less. But you and I have not yet defined "gods" yet, so if I may.

What are "these gods" that you claim does not "regard" people?

As for the rest, you sound like one of those religious people who pray for their daily bread then complain when they starve.

What happened to "love is conditional"? What condition have you fulfilled to make me give you money? Did I tell you I was your messiah and that I would feed you if you prayed to me?

Ask the people that believe in them or/and claim to know them.
I don't believe any god exists.
I don't have to define

God cares
How will God (The Totality of Existence) care about only humans out of uncountable number of things in existence? If God cares about humans and not about virus, a part of Existence, isn't that partiality?

BREAD FROM HEAVEN Truth, Light & Bread 16/04/2020, Thursday

Let God take notice of you

The Spirit's Word: And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her. And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.
Ruth 1:14‭-‬17 KJV

Our God is an extraordinary God and so He takes notice of extraordinary people. Ruth did the extraordinary thing and got her name and legacy recorded in the Bible. She was also an ancestor of King David, and of course, the Lord Jesus Christ after the flesh. Orpah, on the other hand, did not sin. She only took the normal route but missed out on such a great opportunity. Life is way beyond just sin and righteousness. There is so much more we can find in God, and with Him. He desires that we be unselfish, giving, humble and a people of sacrifice. This is what living the abundant life is. It is laying down all for His Name to be glorified. Christians must know that while we are on this Earth, we reap what we sow. Galatians 6:6-10, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7.

What was Ruth thinking when she made that decision? She loved her new family, even in death, and was completely not thinking about herself. She was faithful and loyal both in life and death of her husband. Her faithfulness to her husband was faithfulness to His mother. She was free to go her way and remarry (1 Corinthians 7:39), but she chose a higher way beyond man's comprehension, and got way more than she bargained for. Boaz, who was a wealthy and influential man, married her as Kinsman redeemer. Ruth 2-4. The Bible also records that Mary broke an alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume, and anointed the Lord with it. Mark 14:3-9. She didn't have to, but now we are all still talking about her and her extraordinary deed. God will never deny you the honour due when you go the extra mile for Him.

It was also recorded that a woman called Tabitha (Dorcas) died. The people she had ministered to in alms and good works were not ready to let her go; and so they besought Apostle Peter, who raised her back to life. Acts 9:36-42. If not for her extraordinary deeds, no one would bother the Apostle since we know people die everyday. The widow of Zarephath is another good example. If she had not obeyed the Prophet Elijah, the miracle will never happen. In her lack, she was ready to share her last meal with a complete stranger. She received two miracles by that single act. 1 Kings 17:10-24. There are many more similar stories in the Bible and in life, but I decided to focus on the women that left an indelible mark of God in their lives and life's history. Let's be a people of extraordinary works.

Reminder: Having the mind of Christ is the beginning to living a life that is poured out as an offering unto God. Such a life is of high value to God.

For the attention of Seun.

The post below was also removed.

I notice a thread of mine has been removed or hidden. It might be that I broke a rule, still one would expect the courtesy of being given a reason why, but nothing! My thread just disappeared. And its not the first time posts of mine have disappeared with no reason given despite writing to request one!!

Could someone kindly let me know why my thread was removed or hidden please? Knowing might help me break them less often.

Respect.
