Fake news. Who is Osibanjo? Where was he when Gaba SHEGU went to sigh document for UN to borrow them money? Stop deceiving Nigerians. Osibanjo is sick and many Nigerians knows it. If he is now Covid 19 negative let them tell us. We all knows is corona virus positive and we don't know he is where about. APC is scam!

Pure gibberish.

Considering his antecedences..this is a man that direct the top security leaders to move to Maiduguri and ensure its enforcement. The man is not a military man but as a leader, he give command and they follow it ASAP. Just like when SARs was reformed, just barely three hours, enforcement started and the igp Gabe a statement.

Most people come on a thread without basic facts and all emotions. When Osinbajo mandated all the service chiefs to Borno and we were recording great victories against BH, there wasn't all this rancor.
BH, ambushed 47 Nigerian soldiers and 90+ Chadians forcing their President to go on a rampage that should have been carried out since when Nigerian troops eliminated all their footholds in the country. The entire nay saying squad are now happy to point to Chad as a beacon

His Excellency, Vice President Osinbajo is a tactician and has Nigeria's best interest at heart, we will win this war against the BHT.

We are so blessed to have you as our Vice President. Simply put, we need a different approach to get a different and smarter result. It's never too late to restrategise and use a better approach in ending this insurgency. Kudos to a proactive VP.

Osinbajo is correct.

In this kind of war, you need to be chummy with the locals.

The Nigerian army has a huge blame in their present nightmare. They turned people against them by extra judicial killings and torture of civilians.

I watched a video years back where an old man and a young chap where brought out and summarily executed. Their crime was that an IED had just killed some soldiers and these 2 picked at random must know something about it!

How do you think their relations would feel? How many of their kin do you think will join the rebels so they get revenge? Who will the locals see as their enemy?

In Iraq, American units that were chummy with the Iraqi population had fewer problems as kids would inform them where the IED's were for instance. No be to tell person to roll inside gutter go help una

These are very wise words. The Nigerian Army makes themselves very easy to hate with their constant brutality.

Re: Osinbajo’s Strategy For Ending Boko Haram War by Dejyom(m): 10:17am On Apr 10, 2020
The VP really made a good point here. Winning the sympathy and having the confidence of the locals is very essential in this fight. This will however be possible only if the Nigerian army can first prove to be truly fully in charge. It's quite understandable why the locals' allegiance seems to be with the terrorists for now. It's only being helplessly so for fear of reprisal and backlash. And what does that tell you about who's really in charge at the moment? Afterall, hardly will anyone
really wanna pitch tent with the loser and risk getting hit by the winner.
What I believe we need to do first before the effectiveness of the VP's remark could be actualized is to put the Nigerian army in full charge first by way of sophisticated weapons and better firearms than those of their foes. We also need to look more inwards for possible snitches and betrayers in the system that may have been selfishly feeding the terrorists with helpful information aiding their series of successful ambushing attacks. Only then can the army begin to record outstanding victories that will in turn earn them the confidence and sympathy of the locals.

If you allow it to continue beyond 2020,then it's going to be a disaster.
