Lol. It wont, but the car is one of the most complex automobiles I have seen of that era. I wonder why BMW made it so complex. Too many modules controlling different things. But it moves and handles well, considering its weight. A car that tested out 13.9s completing the quarter mile...it does it without the driver knowing how fast it is climbing up speeds...the engine is reliable, valve stem seals can warp due to intense heat produced by the 4.8l V8, causing oil seepage into the cylinders during operation.
Since the car is provisioned to utilize mechanical fan, i personally manipulated one into the engine (on the water pump), assisting the electric fan it might sound as running too cool But it isn't. I think its just perfect for it.

Interesting yungboss. You eventually dumped the ultimate driving machine for the three pronged star. I'm really out of touch on cartalk.
Still got your e36?

That's a big engine you are interested in. Yungboss is in a position to provide reviews and tips to watch out for, as he too is a lover of big engines.

If it is your first time to own a BMW car, why not look for one with a smaller engine, 525/528/530?

Whatever you decide, make sure to have a competent hand inspect the car on your behalf before paying for it if it is a Nigerian used one.
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by drakeskull(m): 3:12pm On Apr 13, 2020
Would be my 5th BMW if I'm to get it. Used an 07 530i for close to 2 years. Very reliable engine, never broke down. Just want to know if the 550i would be reliable and the fuel usage won't be worlds apart from a 3.5L

Wow!

Good to learn that you are not a first timer.

I have got no experience with the 550i.

Its a good buy, that 4.8l V8 is a gem...but it doesn't come cheap. It could also be a maintenance nightmare if due dilligence isn't observed during or before purchase. From my experience, it's got a great reliable engine. Observe healthy oil change intervals, you ll be fine basically. I guess both the e60 and e66 V8s use the same ZF 6speed auto transmission. For transmission fluid, you can check Amazon or eBay or get someone to send the appropriate one to you for the car, I think it requires about 7 to 8 litres, someone got mine (ZF fluid) so I haven't yet sought for tranny fluid locally.

Good you have experience with BMWs, I too have used quite a few. You basically know what to expect. Fuel consumption is more than your average 3.5l V6 or 3 litre Inline 6. But its got good punch...tested, capable of mid 13s in the quarter mile...

Speaking of oil changes, what type of engine oil do you use and how often do you change it?

I used last, stallion 5w30. Approx. 8 litres

Yea really fast, to put it in perspective, it is faster than my c350 mercedes (2009 MY)..manual advantage over the MB I guess.

Lol, if you say so. True though, by the key parameters.
But you can sense from the 7gtronic transmission in the benz, that it doesn't want aggressive/sporty shifting. Even in S setting, it is slower than the bmw's.

please lets stop buying Nigerian used BMW. One hardly gets a well maintained naija used bmw. Reason people have unnecessarily given bad reviews for BMW
