Hi all. I was just thinking, from an economic perspective, is it advisable to share money to all Nigerians in this pandemic period? Won't that result in Inflation/HyperInflation? I am just looking at the economic angle of this.

I am aware that this is currently done in the US, but I just want to hear our opinions. I also understand that there is hunger in the land but, kindly note that this is merely a discussion before you bash me cheesy

Everyone is welcome to submit his or her opinions especially if you are an Economist in the house.

Thanks.
The benefits far outweigh the disadvantage! If people are at home, how do you keep the economy running? It is the spending power of the people that sustains an economy!

No worsening economic implications. This is what other countries are doing. In the long run when everything has stabilized, we will return to status quo. The world is already suffering. Many balanced and advanced countries have depleted their resources over this corona virus pandemic, so the same must apply to us even though we might not be spending up to them. The equation balances up in the long run. The advance economies seems the worst hit, and the highest spender so far, African economies, the least hit, and the lowest spender so far. So everything balances up. There is already inflation in town.

Is it advisable to allow people to die of hunger? You don't talk about economy when the basic needs (food) has not been met.

Inflation. When there's much cash in circulation, this leads to inflation making the value of the money drop.

On a norms it should result in inflation, but the current ecnomic situation ain't normal so it will definitely counter it and neutralise it effect. What we should rather be concerned of is the long term implications of the prolong effect of this pandemic virus on the economy. First thing is for govt to eliminate the expectational effect it will have on the economy. People might start expecting a shortage in supply of essentials hence the increase in demands which will inturn skyrocket the price of things.
From the economic angle , if the right policy ain't adopted then I smell depression. But you know Nigeria only adopted policies in paper and not in reality.

No implications but Nigeria doesn't have such money.

It will run into trillions of nair, paying just N20,000 to over 200 million people.

Nigeria produces almost nothing, so no seruous external revenue.

Worry about deflation rather. Right now the system is in need of balance. So many areas of the economy is down and people are not willing spent. Sharing money may increase spending. Its a form of stimulus for the econmy.

See for yourself the Fallen Church

Google Images of 100s of pastors worldwide arrested for child defilement of 100, 000s of babies and children. Think how many pedophile pastors never get caught because they are too powerful to bring to justice. They are of all races and nationalities because the demons of pedophilia don't discriminate. The Coronavirus is pedophilia Baal worship a detractor public scare scripted by the Simpson cartoon as well as other forms of medium.
