Many of the commentators on Nairaland are between 20-30 years and they don't know much about what happened in Nigeria before 2015. Nigeria had over 400 companies owned and operated by the Federal Government, 98% of which were ran aground with Billions of Naira in debt leading to the decision of Government to privatize most of them. For instance, the Nigerian Airways was so badly managed that no investors was willing to buy it that it had to be liquidated by Obasanjo in 2003. By 1999, Nigeria Airways had 2000 workers and two aeroplanes, translating to 1000 workers per one aeroplane! rusher14: 1 Like 1 Share |

oyatz: The question is; even if they were not yet born, why are they so poor at doing research? A country that doesn't conduct research CAN NEVER develop. |

rusher14:Who is oyatz? Nobody by that name ever quoted me. rusher14:Gosh! Did you read my post before coming up with this list? I suggested: joint ventures in which the government would leave the day to day running of the enterprises to the private sector partners! Now, in which of all this companies you listed did that happen? There is no way government can run any company successfully in Nigeria. That's a failure of leadership and not a failure of the average Nigerian. If a leader can not be accountable, what do you expect the followers to do? |
