The OP said he started masturbation because he was avoiding HIV. But now, he is addicted to it. He wants to stop because he is finding it difficult to last in sex (fornication) or maintain his sexual exploration with women.

So, I told him that if he can moderate his masturbation, it would be better than entering back to fornication.

And another question I would like to ask (since I assume you are Christian by faith) is there anything like big sin and small sin...are all sins not condemnable? There is a popular saying that it takes 3 weeks to form a habit when you repeatedly keep doing something... Trust me for masturbation a week and you already in it... I started doing it frequently, I don't sleep at night.. Just try and google it. You will discover that mastubation occurs mostly between the ages of 15 to 35. Thats to say a large number of people quit b4 they are 36. Secondly, I was not talking from the perspective of religion, i just said dat to make people know that im very much aware that mastubation is a sin.
