First off, Shooting the Cop was self-defence and probably hold up in court, but no the girl (surprisingly a lawyer) suggested they run away, secondly probably the Sheriff seemed "like one of the guys" and could have actually been be able to help if they had properly explained the whole situation but no another bad decision and the left the man in a deserted road in a trunk of a car thereby eliminating any chance of them presenting or building an credible case that would hold in court and from there things kinds spiraled out of country... There's was only going to be one outcome in the end.

G..The writers had a good material but decided to spin it silly, i was expecting from shooting the cop, the girl been a lawyer would have taken up the case against the police force to argue for self defence, then win the case and cause a reform in the law on how cops handle black people....

If they had ran, in the absence of the cops dash cam, it's very much ok & understandable because we all know they wouldn't stand a chance against the American criminal Justice system.
She's a lawyer, a very good one at that, so she claims. Seeing that they had leverage, why run?

There is even one that I saw live where a machete wielding man was arrested after 30 minutes standoff with police. The negotiated with the guy, then when he wasnt cooperating, they enclosed him and seized the machete.

This why watching American movies without understanding international politics is dangerous. This would not happen in Europe. Those police officers would be arrested. This only happens in America. Even some few states in the USA are now changing policies to reduce death by police.

Different scenerio with different tactics..I know for a fact there's no way you can negotiate your way out of every situation, some people can't be reasoned with, so force is required so whether the force is deadly or not is determined by what danger the armed person poses to innocent bystanders.

Queen and Slim had one of the most engaging stories I've seen in the pure Drama genre. But somewhere along the line, i felt like some of the choices made by the 2 leads was quite ridiculous & it really irked me.
Daniel Kaluuya kills a cop in self defense, his attorney GF advises him they run....are you kidding me? this was someone who claimed she was the best at what she does. Why run when you can put up a solid case, seeing that the dash cam, recorded everything, or better still, why not set the cop car on fire to erase every evidence.

Notwithstanding the above, & considering the fact that am not a Drama fanatic, the rest of the movie sure held me spellbound.
Acting most especially from Daniel Kaluuya was solid, soundtracks were awesome especially that Fella's soundtrack, cinematography was top notch, the political message was also well conveyed.
All in all, a better writing would have made this flick a masterpiece.

The film is loosely tailored to the Bonnie and Clyde saga.

The bad decisions are kind of deliberate from the scripting and are the lessons to take away from their story.

They lost their heads and there was no turning back.

Good to see the likes of Vin Diesel and Matt Damon in their younger age. It was worth the hype and the ratings. The gore cannot be better depicted. For a movie of about 22 years, it is definitely a classic.
