Your brother has made the best decision as far as nigeria is concerned. He can’t regret it

So sad to tell you this, some PhD students won’t mind dropping their doctorate program for an admission in NDA

But you people get connection o, to have got the admission into NDA.
It isn’t a good decision, yet your family lobbied getting one.

If been in the military is his passion, he will not regret it as he will be a ranked officer after graduation... But NDA is tough to go through though

As long as you are residing in the states as at the time....Google about the requirements you will see that it's very easy to be a military personal in USA.

he should have gone for short service with his cerificate, as long as he gets a minimum second lower. This is just an 8-9 month training

Short service officers usually experience discrimination and most aren't allowed in the service beyond rank of colonel (given limited years in service) and can't head most military formations. With NDA, he has got 35 years in service; he can rise to Brig and major general; This is the hope of every military officer and that gives him lots of connections in Nigeria beyond military.

My younger brother, who was already mid-way in his undergraduate studies left it for NDA last year. Though, it's very challenging especially the first year; it demands physical, mental and financial might to get through year one. You need to encourage him

No they don't experience discrimination, I would know because I live in the barracks. It's like saying those studying optometry experience discrimination from those studying Medicine. And yes they can't rise above colonel that is if they don't convert to Regular. And you can lead formation if you've got the connection

converting to regular is not that easy as it seems; I know countless officers who were retired at rank of colonel. Converting to regular is quite difficult and depends only if there is slot --chance and space-- NDA is far better than short service

I know Nigerian graduates who have been seeking for employment for the past 10 year, yes! So, with NDA, he doesn't need to seek for employment. He might even finish the 5 years and some of his graduate colleagues wouldn't be gainfully employ; though, I don't pray that should be their portion, but that's reality of Nigeria scenario

He will only regret it if he misbehaves there and is withdrawn.

But constantly encoursge hin to be focused and abiding by the rules ooo, make he avoid Kaduna girls oo and have a serious girlfriend from another state because if he begin blow awol to go fornicate, his problems will compound. Them go bang fire alarm and he dey one place dey do wetin he no suppose do.

As a graduate, is he studying the same course he did in university, if so, he should strive for first class ooo, many monetary gain plus he can be given his chosen corp on passing out.

Navy is a great choice, especially if as an officer he winds up in logistics and aviation. So far, I dont see a down side oo, if he knows what he is doing there sha and is prayerful too

He will still out rank those that entered through SSC before him..

After your 9months SSC training, you'll pip 2nd lieutenant and after 4 years you'll hang lieutenant..

But as nda graduate, you'll hang lieutenant 6 months after your pop..
