Them say Buratai don extend am ooo . Plus NDA is now 4years for Navy and Airforce, so instead of doing a 5th year, they hang midmanship straight away. The 4 years is 4years oo, no delay. This was due to the fact that after training and becoming mid men in 5th year, on return to NDA for POP (just 3weeks period) some of them were withdrawn. itsmolep: |

itsmolep:As a SSC Officer, you will be commissioned as a Lieutenant not 2nd lieutenant. It's NDA cadat that come out as 2nd lieutenant, then after 6 months they will be promoted to Lieutenant. I've got two brothers that graduated from Academy, so that's the fact. 2 Likes |

Why waste time and energy going through 5 years in NDA when he could have gone through DSSC with his 1st degree in hand?? |

stanisbaratheon:DSSC is for professionals who are providing services for the real military officers: doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers etc |

stanisbaratheon:If those countries didn't fight and develop their country, will immigrants want to go there. We need to see past the short term in this country and put the work in so that future generations can benefit and succeed instead of running away to be second class citizens. 1 Like 1 Share |

Timi141: Okay since you've gone there let me ask you. If you're made the President of this country today how would you make sure people put in the work to build this country and not think of going to serve in the united states military?? |
Re: My Younger Brother Joined NDA After Graduation From University by Sufisunni: 6:14pm On Apr 20, 2020 |
stanisbaratheon:Certainly, you can't head any battalion fighting Boko Haram and it means you aren't at the war front, but also trained and carry things like pistol for self-defence; they are providing services: doctors treating wounded soldiers, engineers constructing bridges to cross difficult terrain and repairing equipment, teachers teaching at schools etc. However, it's even more difficult for DSSC to convert to Regular than SSC. |

ShitStain: Absolutely . It's a rhetorical question though. I once tried DSSC in 2017 but couldn't get in after the final screening in Lagos. |

baib45: He's on track bro. Please, your entire family should continue to encourage him. Gone are the days when men enlisted in the Armed Forces for the passion. He should be prepared physically and mentally. I tried entering the NDA in 2008 but was not successful. I tried Army SSC 2014, yet again, unlucky. I've since focused on my career path... E nor easy shaaa... Some of my friends that were fortunate enough to be commissioned in 2015 are not finding it funny. Survival is key. Stay safe. |

Re: My Younger Brother Joined NDA After Graduation From University by Sufisunni: 6:57pm On Apr 20, 2020 |
stanisbaratheon:DSSC is for only professional courses; often even professional membersship from your field, i.e Nigeria Medical Association, Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, Nigeria Institute of Architect is required for DSSC. SSC is for all graduates regardless of what you study at university; SSC are trained fully like NDA cadets and can head any battalion in war front; they receive more training than DSSC. |

Sufisunni: Well said chief. As an addendum, there are age restrictions as well. Due to the fact that emphasis is placed on admitting professionals into the Force, DSSC accommodate older applicants. I think up to 35years. 1 Like |

To enjoy or regret that descion cant be known now But to enjoy it you have to be able to cross the rank of a navy/air captain or colonel in the military There a likelihood of regret if an individual dont If he/she does thumbs up you'll enjoy it I'm not God neither a prophet. Many factors play out to someone being lucky in the military vice versa God bless his career |
