Luckily for poor Nigeria, Brent still hovers at around $26........with the OPEC cut agreed last week, do you think we can scrape by?

The risk is not worth it, even in the game of chess the King must be protected at all times and at all cost. The field commander was too exposed forget about all this long talk of experience one bullet is enough to end his life. Even NCOs in advanced militaries won't lower their guards wrt personal protective gears etc Except they're not in direct contact with the enemies (which I think is the case).
Normally we all thought the haphazard dressing by our troops is a problem limited to the lower cadres, if Oga fit dress anyhow how you wan make him boys behave?
I'm not taking anything away from his mastery of the job but safety shouldn't be jettisoned on account of expertise/sabiness.

Generally if not for military discipline and if everyone could have their way most combatants would rather not wear an helmet except in direct line of fire, its a global phenomenon, but thank God for the technology of way lighter and useful helmets has changed the trend, factor in the typical Nigerian sucker for safety rules attitude and ur guess is good as mine.

However in Advanced militaries too you would hardly see an officer from colonel upwards donning helmet up and down except his in the kill zone,in the military oga can dress anyhow with no questions asked, same way Buhari can wear camo anytime as CinC with no question asked.

I also don't think the CO was too exposed as I saw him pacing all over in the video which would make it a hard target for even a sniper, from the rounds of fire I was hearing the BHT were too engaged to even give him a shot let alone a clean one and the risk he took was definitely worth taking its just about military tactics 101 especially when u don't have an endless supply of ammo or supplies.

Clarification
The price tanking is related to the WTI crude .

And this has happened primarily because storage facilities are full , so there are no takers for the crude ( plus other reasons are there ) hence price of WTI crude is -38 dollars per barrel grin

About opec no idea bro , has demand picked up even after the cut ?

One thing though America will surely take the revenge for this on OPEC in the future, they r literally hopping mad grin

I'm saying y'all should stop speculating, fact is, you don't know. Unless you get direct line to the General

Where did you get your info that he isn't. The soldier was just following the General and carrying a rifle because he felt like it? Please give me a break. grin

What qualifications do you have to rate a General's performance in battle? grin grin
people dey funny sha
neyobills:
IMO personally I would rate the commanding officer a 7 out of 10 from the video posted earlier, firstly he was commanding the troops to use RPG to dislodge the BHT location,to defeat terrorists you must also think like one and I would commend him for that.

Secondly a commander doesn't always has to hold a rifle besides there is another combatant with an AK that's covering for him and that could just be enough, besides I noticed he was trying to distract the BHT and draw the position of fire to himself so his other comrades at another position can advance while he pins down and his combatant covers for him firing back that's just my personal opinion tho,the only bane of the video is the usual over ruggedity attitude of the NA which we can see in to CO not been fully kitted however who knows maybe its an ambush as the sky is not always blue in the military, however I see nothing too pissy poor to berate the NA about in the video, that's just my own personal opinion tho.

Hello, stop misquoting me. I never said NVG are sold for $8 . They are very expensive, talking about those of military standard.

What I said is that there are budget ones that go for as low as $8. These budget ones aren't military standard but it doesn't mean it can't be useful . I was trying to tell you that the Nigerian army will be better off using the latter rather than having nothing at all. In summary, I was trying to tell you "at all at all nahim bad pass" I bought one for that amount from Amazon and it was great.

You're obviously not intelligent. So you're saying they are better off with nothing that an 8 dollar NVG. No wonder they always wait for BH to launch an attack during the day so they can repel as usual

The oil cuts ain't scheduled to happen till next month, with how chaotic today has been for the us oil market...trump would definitely be on the phone to push up the commencement date for the cuts, with the way things are going, even the over 9mb/day cuts wouldn't be enough
Trump just said he'll pay oil companies in the U.s to keep the taps shut, they'll be considered as U.s strategic reserves.
Just to clarify, Nigeria also sales at a discount so instead of selling at the Brent crude benchmark, we sale at OPEC basket prices, so a little bit above $17/b

The fact of the matter is If BokoHarem had spawned or set there primary sites on any other nation within Africa with the exception of maybe South Africa, Egypt, or Algeria that nation would have been overrun and decimated by the end of that year; some month.
Lol... You're a funny person. Do you think countries like Namibia, Ghana, Ivory coast and some other serious countries will let terrorists be as powerful the way Nigeria did.

Have you forgotten buhari himself, said "An attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the north", when Boko Haram was bombing churches up and down in borno state, how many northerners condemned it? I can still remember the way the mallams do release press release upon press release accusing the army of killing northerners grin

Please know Nigeria mate when you want to compare it with some African countries.

No matter how you want to put it, no serious country will let Armed bandits, Fulani herdsmen, one million boys, cultists etc freely operate in their country like Nigeria.

Less than 20 people were killed in Canada, The head of government held a press conference because of it, about 70 people were killed in katstina, I'm sure the president does not even know such a thing happened sef lipsrsealed compare Nigeria with CAR, Somalia, Chad, Libya, Mali and Niger republic and some other unorganized countries.

Boko Haram can't rear is head up in ghana not to talk of controlling territory, it will be crushed before it can raise up is head at all. Abi how many times you don hear for news say some random men enter villages for Ghana, take over the villages or killed them?

NIGERIAN AIR FORCE DAY 2020

This month of April, the Nigerian Air Force marks its Fifty Sixth Anniversary of establishment as the air element of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Anniversary is peculiar as it is taking place in the shadow of the COVID-19 global pandemic. As a result, the fanfare and sequence of events that usually herald the occasion have been dispensed with in keeping with the mood of the Nation as well as the necessity to comply with stipulated precautionary measures.

Nevertheless, in view of the need to remember the labours of our heroes, especially those who paid the supreme price in service to our great Nation in various theatres of operation, the Nigerian Air Force deems it necessary to carry out 2 events to mark the Anniversary, if only to remind us of the sacrifices of these our fallen heroes whilst not forgetting the current crop of Service personnel who continue to make daily sacrifices in service to our fatherland.

These events are a symbolic flypast by Nigerian Air Force aircraft over Abuja on 22 April 2020 as well as the distribution of food items and other palliatives to members of the host communities in each of the 6 Geopolitical Zones and the Federal Capital Territory from 22 to 26 April 2020.

While the distribution of palliatives is aimed at contributing towards the Federal Government’s efforts to assuage the hardships occasioned by the lockdown imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19, the flypast would serve as a salute to the Nigerian people for their support to the Nigerian Air Force over the years, whilst also reminding us all to stay safe in these trying times.

As we commemorate this Fifty Sixth Anniversary, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar, wishes to assure Nigerians that the Nigerian Air Force will continue to play its part in dealing with all threats to the peace and prosperity of our great Nation.
