Some schools send out I-20’s to admitted international students for free, so it’s normal for some schools to do that without you paying shipping fee. And yes you must pay sevis fee, every international student is expected to pay the sevis fee before visiting the embassy.

Please help out with this, my experienced ogas.

I received a mail with a copy of i-20 form in PDF format, do I need to get the hardcopy?

What is the next step after I-20?

The Assistantship cover up for tuition fee and living expenses but I-20 came with deficit of about $3600 for book and other stuff. They put family there for this deficit. Can i use statement of account of family members with different surname?

Things did not go as planned here, I have to divert the money schedule for financing the traveling stuff to another place which has to do with a do or die affairs.
Please can I get a foundation that can fund my traveling expenses.

He has sense. He is putting his citizens first which is what every good leader should do. It might be unfair to potential immigrants but well we all arrived this earth with a country of our own. Imagine you’re an American, won’t you want to be put first by your president? All those millions of unemployment claims filed, he has to attend to it and make sure his citizens are fine before thinking of any outsider. Even the Bible said love your neighbor as yourself not more. He has to ensure Americans are in good standing. He has to make sure people keep admiring America and that can be done only when people see that its citizens are doing well. Or who do you think will love to stay or immigrate to a country that can’t provide jobs for its own citizens.

There is a probability that your school paid for it. My friend did not pay a dime too and the school used DHL as well. You are in save hands, I suppose.

I'll still say that things are currently unclear. Don't get deceived by people on here that say you should proceed with travel plans as usual. Pause till things clear up a little.

Trump just dropped a bombshell. He will do as he as said just like how he threatened to cut WHO funding and went ahead to suspend the funding.

Embassies won't resume until Trump lays down the directives on immigration going forward.

Some schools don't really know the exact situation on ground regarding embassy in all countries. A friend who is an international student ambassador was asked about the current situation of US embassy in Nigeria. Some schools don't know and that's why they keep on issuing i20

My advice still remain, pause and watch things unfold before making any step

He will clarify soon. I understand everybody is eager to know but we can all fasten our seat belts because it's going to be a long ride. Going by with his follow-up statement, it's going to affect all categories of visas bar any last minute persuasion

Most teaching licensure programs are MAT and it is not funded. Trust me I have been admitted for it several times. My advice is to take this offer if it is funded, then when you are in school you can discuss your interest in getting a license with your advisor. You most likely would just right the praxis exam plus other state certification exam. But if you can afford to pay tuition just apply directly for Masters of Art in Teaching ( it has different concentrations)

PS: I feel we should be more concerned about the inefficient strategy the Nigerian government is using to tackle the pandemic. Embassies won't want to resume administrative duties, if the pandemic is not properly contained in the nearest future. This might be a potential red-flag, if it happens.

Very true to be honest. Student visas are not affected at all. He said so in his press conference today. The full executive order will be available tomorrow. It only affects those applying for permanent residency. He said all temporary visas are not affected.
