I 100% agree with the OP's claims on his income and that of his sister who saved said sum working as a PSW because I can personally relate. I know someone who saved more than said sum after taxes while studying and paid fees of about 30k for a period of 20 months. It is simply about the hours you put in. You have to put in very long hours and work different jobs. It can be tiring and not the lifestyle one would want for the long term but some people actually love it and don't mind accumulating the $$. I know someone who has two homes. One fully paid for now and the second a rental property still being paid for who has made a career as a psw. I cringe at the the statements calling him out as a liar which is taking things too far. How can anyone be so sure of something they have not experienced? I don't think the op has anything to gain by lying to impress strangers. He is only trying to motivate people by sharing his personal experiences. I have been putting off reacting to the naysayers for a lonnggg time but I just have to say this now.

Someone who saved 100k while studying full-time? Even part-time, PSW?
Okay that’s IMPOSSIBLE!

Someone making over 100k annually still qualifies for a student loans??.
Oga,is there something you are not telling us because this is sounding like a fairytale to me o.

I don’t think someone making that much will qualify for student loan in CANADA
Re: My Monthly Savings In Canada by Sarang(f): 11:02pm On Apr 21, 2020
atutupoyoyo2211:
For clarification, you are right, cos i applied for student loan in 2019 and i was given a very little amount and no grant because of how much i made in 2018. Now i said my sister had the money sitting in her account, i didn't say she made it all in a year. My sister worked as a personal support worker for 2 years before applying for a nursing degree. She worked part time while pursing her nursing degree and she just completed her RN qualification exam in February this year. the money she has was not made as nurse but was saved up from the time she was a PSW. Specifically, she didn't save much in 2016, but according to her, she saved 40k in 2017, 22k in 2018 and 18k in 2019. And trust me, as a nurse, she will make much more.

This however, is very possible.
Saving 40,22 and 16k in 3years

But why are people claiming audio income on this thread ??.
someone who makes 5k after tax has an average gross of around 8k.you pay federal tax, state tax, social security, Medicare, union due, retirement and host of others depending on your circumstances.
Besides why is everyone talking about overtime as if its statutory obligations?.does every job requires overtime?.
People should be able to tell themselves the truth somehow and stop this fantasy.
Besides is community support work a professional job??.I doubt.

It is not a professional job perhaps and who gives a rat’s a** on what a professional job is and whatnot.
Audio income?Lol you must be joking..

Professional professional that is how you guys end up earning nothing..cos you wan answer professional
Is trade a professional job? Yet they make good money.
Say what you know jeez.. cos you dey oversea no mean say you sabi everything.

To be very honest this argument don taya me

I only replied OK ma, yet u deemed it needful to post another reply to seemingly buttress ur weak argument. A life u have not lived and I would go on to say know nothing about. The way you sound so omniscient. I doubt ur type can even hold an argument in real life. Keyboard smart-asses. I hope u really stop arguing as u said but I doubt you will. I will be pleasantly surprised though. Even if the said person I referred to is my humble self, u will still call me a liar. I hope u have an open mind in future. Smh

We should always try to read and comprehend. He will be working as a security personnel and not a pharmacist.

Telling you read to comprehend is not an insult but advice.
I just told you he works as security personnel in a pharmaceutical firm as against you asking how much does pharmacist earn.

Mind you,it is spelled as dont and not "dnt".
You don't have to reply me back in profanity.

Shit is really real here. We have already had 4 deaths in our health center from Covid 19. we also have about 6 staff infected. I screened a nurse today with a high temperature, 2 days in a row, I'm almost certain she has it too cos she was a nurse for 2 of the 4 covid patients. In the past 2 weeks, i was fortunate enough to prevent 3 potential Covid cases from coming into the center. You know, for the first time, i began to reevaluate my commitment today. i know i am helping out, but sometimes i feel i need to be selfish too.

I have read this thread from the very beginning since I’ve got time today (thanks to Corona)

You are brave to keep up with people who seem to be ignorant or/ and are closed minded .
Majority of the naysayers do not live in Canada and mostly have a negative view of life maybe through their own life experiences or their environment .

You have gone a long way even showing proof from your CRA account and still you don’t only have people doubting you but outrightly calling you a fraud who I believe don’t even know you personally . It’s sad.

I have been living in Toronto for a long time now, working in a skilled profession and earning a very decent living.
With hard work and determination you can achieve even more.

This thread is serving a great purpose for those who are open to learn and have a drive.

Thanks for sharing your journey and reminding some of us to have a plan and save for it no matter how small or the setbacks you face in life.
Wishing you all the best in your endeavours and God’s blessings to your family.

I stopped responding to your comments Babyvet, cos you actually do not give constructive critism, you insult a lot. You called me a phoney, a liar,
and other obscene words, and you don't even know me. Someone at the beginning of this thread said that i would soon start contacting people for business from this thread, and its over 2 years now, if i have contacted anyone, pls let them tell us. My new goal was to save 15k by the 10 of July, i am upping that to 20k by the end of July. I am doing this cos my wife decided to take up 70% of our rent which is about $800, and i am already at $4200 in my savings as of end of April. I started the savings on the 10th of April. This is the last year i wanna work so much hours. After this year, and i can save what i want to save, it will be time to invest. And if i can save the $20k by the end of July, God willing i will go for another 20k before the end of the year. This will also be my last year working as a Security guard. I will be moving on to Cybersecurity. Those who want to be inspired can be, and those who chose to be negative, well, God bless. Life is too precious, to waste on negativity, its not like anyone of us are going to get out of life alive anyway.
