Most times , viral diseases are not cured rather vaccinations save as a prevention and cure like we say prevention is better than cure. Eg hepatitis measles polio vaccines and so on..

Excellent question. The reason there is still no cure for any known virus be it Coronavirus, HIV, Ebola virus, SARS virus or even Herpes virus is because man has not been able to break that, although nanotechnology is getting there gradually but might take another 100 years or more to achieve that, A virus is 500 times smaller than a parasite we can even see with a microscope. This is more reason you should keep your distance from people and isolate yourself. Once you get infected and even recovered from it, your life will never remain the same.

"Highly religious" scientists will be too little and too few and we can predict that majority of them
will be below average. There is a clear difference between belief and religiosity.

Moreover, science works regardless of faith or lack of it, so a scientist being religious is irrelevant.

However, there is a wide difference between a religious society and a secular one that has scientists
who happen to be theists.

The first would respond with "It is not my portion and god is in control" in case of a new problem
and the other will ask "what are the causes and how do we stop it".

Religious society are correlated with poverty and poor education.
Even within a secular and advanced society, the most religious parts
are the poorest.
Look at the US for example, the bottom of the poverty table are filled
with highly religious states. It is not a coincidence.

One major pillar in christianity is healing. This is the right time for pastors to come out and show to the world they are connected with God. How many of them have come out to tell the government they have the power to heal coronavirus patients?

Must the healing be in church?

Let the pastors go to the hospitals with the coronavirus patients and heal them .

Have you forgotten in bible times, even handkerchiefs blessed by the apostles healed whoever touched it?

Science doesn't have the solution to all medical problems of humans , but science has obvious proofs of big problems they have solved.

So many killer diseases of humans have been cured by science. What about religion?

Fōol, it is one thing to be prayerless and another to have a working economy, then funding the science and technology eg hospitals and lab in the country. Don't be a fōol. Yes Africa has a religion issue, but most African countries' economy are flourishing eh Ghana, South Africa. What you should point out is bad government. That you are being ruled by a corrupt government and there's no chance of ever getting it to have a government that will deliver Nigeria does not mean it's religion that kept you where you are. Will the virus stop spreading and wait for you to cure everyone that's already infected?
As you are curing the infected one's, the virus will keep spreading unless you want enforce and practice safety precautions such as wearing of mask/glove, social distancing, regular hand sanitizing etc forever.
The only way to actually eradicate this virus is via vaccination.
If we Don't develop a vaccine, then we'll have to wear face masks and practice social distancing forever.
