Oga!! What is your position on this matter, stop dilly dallying. End lockdown or continue lockdown, which one you day, stand for something.

As for me, I ended my lockdown since last week Monday.I don't believe the lockdown is working, that's me and that's my view, what's yours?

You keep talking about profits and profits

Sincerely, my friend, you'll be disappointed. Not because there is no profit, but because your expectations sounds so high(or has this touch of impatience and urgency)

My advise? Invest in something else

not like that! i also have other things that am doing... I am also a programmer (still learning though), and that why i want a kind of job that i will do after coding hours just to be sustaining until i finish my program.

I was working full-time before i resigned because of the I.T program that am doing, as i believe that i wont be able to run my full time job with my prefared career. i just want to be doing the uber job as a side hustle.

There isn't any lesser evil here except you want to keep living in denial. You are between the devil and the deep blue sea.

If LOCKDOWN with no end in sight works for u fine!! But I really think we need another approach to fighting this

Driving on Uber is a job that will require your strength and time. Because of the city we live in, and the rates charged, you'll need to spend more time behind the wheels to meet your target

And I know you'll be thinking; But I said 6 to 7 hours na grin

Yes, I read that. But getting trips and making profits are relative here. Let me share a short story with you

When I was driving, I start my day by 4:30am to 5am. I try to gross 5k before 9am and then gross another 5k by 1pm. Of which 65% of the time, i do realize that
Now, that 6 to 7 hours already.

Now, after making 10,000 in 6 hours

Bolt's commission is 20% of that(It was 15% then) = 2000

Fuelling (A corolla should yield 4 times of the fuel cost)= 2500.

Let's assume there was nothing to spend on throughout that 7 hours.

Now, your net profit is 5500.

So sir, would you drive from 5am to 1pm and be satisfied with 5,500? grin

Nowhere did I say I was enjoying the lockdown, or it works for me.

Our healthcare system will not be able to handle the cases if the number keeps increasing. As much as you want to make money and keep your family, it's also wise to be safe.

If your government is not concerned about you, won't you be concerned about yourself?

Okay. Let me continue the story grin

Once it's 12pm, I go find a place to sleep. The reason is because that is not a peak period on this job. People are at work, Oloshos are resting for night duty, students are still in classes......So it's only grace that you'll see sweet trips then

But from 3pm upwards(Depending on your location), you're likely to see good trips.

So if you can be working from 12pm, to 8pm, then it's absolutely fine. As long as it's a side hustle

So you don't think Obama an Harvard Graduate, Lawyer and Senator could not have done better..... So the handling of the Ebola crisis and swine flu crisis was not handle correctly etc....

Are u much aware that after those crisis that Obama set up a pandemic team .. The team was responsible for overseeing future pandemic.. Obama had to get permission from Congress to fund the department.. Which Congress approved and just like the Obama care that Obama put in place ,Trump went to Congress to discontinue it , but he was short of a vote, which Senator John McCain voted against.. Than Pandemic team he got rid of them ..

Now we are at a Crisis and Trump administration is now clueless on what to do . Plus millions of people are now unemployed ,money borrowed for the stimulus package is now added to the national debt. Or do you expect the USA government to print money?

Due to his negligence it has affected the oil market, which now affects you too.. When USA economy suffers it affects other nations too ... So at the end of the day it is affecting you ,whether you like it or not .. Nigeria lockdown is going to continue for another two weeks.. And enjoy while it last .....

And it seems to me you are so use to system of corruption in Nigeria ,that you make excuses for the failures of your leaders , and you think it is supposed to be the way things should be ....smh...

Unfortunately due to Trump negligence, Nigeria will suffer the most during this pandemic, better yet Africa as a whole.....

Obama this and that

Obama handled only 11 cases of Ebola
Over 60 million people in the united states were infected with swine flu with almost 13,000 death.

Obama did and that, even whites and African Americans will tell you that Obama is their worst president ever.

Obama created Libya and Syria.

The only stuff he did was telling us that we should all be gays and lesbians or else he will stop funding.

Hmmm.. I pray Nigeria shouldn't get to the state USA is right now concerning this covid-19 issue. As at this time last month, USA had a record of about 700 deaths. Presently they are above 50,800 deaths. That's above 50k in a month and they have good healthcare system.

I'm tired of staying at home doesn't mean I want the govt to lift the lockdown. We are careless in Nigeria. If this pandemic gets out of hand in Nigeria especially Lagos. To get bed space at the isolation centres would be on who knows who basis.

I don't see buhari lifting the ban on Monday. Even south Africa that is planning of easing the lockdown has recorded over 4000 cases with less recoveries and about 80 deaths.

My suggestion to the govt is that they should do a total shutdown of Nigeria for 2weeks.

The health workers should remain at the hospitals, because when they are off duty and they go back to their families, they can transmit the virus to the family and it's start spreading. Everybody is hiding under the essential workers permit and they are moving around.

Please let's remember that when there is life, there is hope...

You keep going round in circles, typical Nigerian!! I have opined that the lockdown is counter productive. What's your exact stand,I don't think merely asking people to stay safe can be considered a stand on this matter.

You might be staying in Lekki or Banana island where you can get ample serenity, as for me I stay on the mainland, downtown Ogba to be precise and my streets are as crowded as can be thereby making the lockdown seem pointless.

You advised staying at home, then lockdown isn't working for you. In all your post so far you haven't stood anywhere but in the air.

I am staying safe sir and I pray we go all dey all right las las.

Where you born in the 30s, how do you know this economic downturn is worst than the recession in 1930, you are just repeating what CNN says
according to cnn, every recession is always worst than 1930, infact the great depression was from August 1929 – March 1933.

The US isnt in a recession, the US is in a downturn

How is trump the cause of the lockdown in Nigeria?

Also, how is trump the cause of the fall in oil price? is it US that started the Saudi vs Russia oil price war?

you just want to blame Trump for everything, the same way you blame BUHARI FOR EVERYTHING

is trump the cause of Newyork covid high cases and death? when governors have the power to close down and open up their states

Please let's remember that when there is life, there is hope...

Govt has already done 4weeks lockdown...and there has been increase in the 2nd half of the lockdown and not the first half.

Note: The first lockdown was to control and monitor the spread to communities so as to be able to identify and quickly quarantine such areas eg the virus incubation is 2-14days that's why a lockdown of 14days or quarantine of 14days is advised.

There will be a rise till it gets to the peak...then a a flatten curve will occur afterwards

Staying at home can't prevent the increase, if it did why do you see an increase in the extension phase of the lockdown and not in the 1st phase

No govt can sustain a lockdown of every city. Even NCDC response plan published sept 2013 in response to influenza stated that a lock down will be ill-advised and not sustainable

The covid19 is something we have to come to terms with that it will live among us for a long time.

Staying at home can not prevent the increase in nigeria...it has clearly been proven...

Phase 1 lock down - no increase

Phase 2 lock down - increase in great numbers

Social distancing will control and limit spread

Face mask will control and limit spread (Czech republic have greatly reduced spread with this method)

More enlightenment and educative materials will reduce spread and increase hygiene

Hi you mentioned you must have more than one car to be successful in uber business. Can you explain why and the reason one car is not profitable

grin grin
Firstly I'll make some assumptions grin

1) That we have a perfect (ideal) condition: A good driver, constant flow of weekly rentals
2)That the car does not develop any fault
3)They are going into this business for a long term and full time.
4)This plan will be for a four year period (I mean, it's possible to use a car for four years on ehailing na grin)

Let us use the following parameters too grin
Corolla: 1.7 million
Monthly rental at 30k: 100k(20k for servicing and other small small issues)

CASE 1

He has only one corolla he bought with 1,700,000

First Six months: 600k
Second six months:1.2 million
Third six months: 1.8 million

Hurray! He can decide to buy another Corolla, or flex his capital

CASE 2
He starts with three Corollas which costs #5,100,000

First six months: I.8 million (Let's say he buys another one)

Second six months: 2.4 million (Let's say he buys another one, and keeps his 500k changes)

Third six months: 3 million (plus 500k)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't mind my fantasies sha grin

But my point is, the more the cars, the more you are likely to yield, and grow. And also, it provides the space for covering up losses in downtimes

If you have one car, and there's a major issue, you're most likely to reach into another source to cover up. But with more than one car, the FOLD can take care of themselves if one bird is down

Don't mind the rubbish I wrote up there oh. I just wanted to make the explanation more .......I don't know grin

You are still in denial lol ..... I said a million times and it seems you not getting it ...." When US sneezes the World catches a cold " if you don't know what that means ,than you are as uneducated as the rest of Trump supporters...

This is Trump due to the fact that he didnt act fast enough to deal with the global crises.. When there was malaria and all types and manners of disease.. The USA are first in line of action, but this type around they are in the last line of action... now due to the global crises the demand of oil has fallen.. You can recall before the crisis Russia and Saudi were fighting over price .. The Saudi decided to pump more oil to punish to Russia and take market share of the oil .. Trump came in talk to them and both countries settle . And oil prices went up a bit, you see right there is the power of the USA influence.. But unfortunately the virus spiral out of country....

India and China are one of the largest buyers of crude oil ,especially China. China and basically the world are dealing with the virus as we speak. Oil is the last thing in any country mind now .. Due to Trump negligence the USA economy is in a recession now and the outcome has affected European countries.....

This is a ripple affects that comes down all the way to Nigeria. Covid19 can't be contained in Nigeria and the cure or vaccine will take at least a year to come out.. For now the Naira will become useless .. The last time I check $1 equals 428 naira.. This is just the beginning
