I disagree with u. In the olden days, the health givers are known as herbalists. They do the work of diagnose (physician), care (nursing) and give out prepared herbal mixtures (pharmacy) until the diversification. Their name only changed to Pharmacologists. Infact, kudos should be given to then than pharmacists because they are the source of drugs. Its like giving kudos to a marketer of a product than its manufacturer.
They won't listen....Lol
You no say nah only for Nigeria marketer dey blow pass producer

Your post reveals your immaturity .
It is clear from your post how old you are .

You cover your ignorance with bombastic talk

What exactly is "dosage form" "pharmaceutics" "pharmaceutic technology" and how are they exclusive preserve of pharmacists

You are the one that needs to keep quiet and stop talking rubbish.

For your information many doctors after graduating go on to be clinical pharmacologists I have never seen any go on to be pharmacists

Pharamacologists work in big firms like Pfizer Novartis etc researching and developing drugs with many performing core clinical roles and many are physicians.
Pharmacists are NOT pharmaceutical technicians so stop trying to mislead people.

They are lords ooo.....superior pple association. They are the authority Lmao
Pharmacists saying pharmacologist can't dispense drugs in Nigeria.Awon authority

Sorry!!!

Keep entertaining us with your ignorance!
Those who really know what's up would be laughing at you while reading your trashy posts here!

I know you're totally ignorant of what it entails to make drug into a quality product, it's obvious from your posts!

Continue in your delusion that after studying medicine ( abi BSc pharmacology sef), then pharmaceutical industries would employ you over a pharmacist with your 8 months lectures on BASIC pharmacology. You'll soon come to terms with reality!

It's either you're a 100 level medical student who has not yet understood what's up or you're a pharmacology student who is seriously wishing he/she can change the globally established standard and become a pharmacist through the backdoor.

Exactly that's it "Globally established standard".......that was because your ancestors in pharmacy (wey dey help drug producers market drugs)backstab the producers. And claim the kudos

Hahahahahaha grin
I don't know Much about pharmacology, but i know there are somethings Pharmacist knows that pure Pharmacologist doesn't know.

Mind you, we Are all Looking for ways to Protect our professions. If the Pharmacologist start doing almost all the things that pharmacist does, who will Study Pharmacy?
Everything is Politics.
We face the same Issue with MCB trying to equate themselves with MLS. While MCB is just an Aspect of MLS.

Too many ignoramuses on this thread!

For those seeking to know, please be informed that NOBODY ELSE studies and knows pharmacology better than a Pharmacist! Only BSc holders who have gone further to do a PhD can measure up to an average BPharm graduate in the knowledge of pharmacology....fact!

Studying pharmacy in good schools is so didactic that you hardly finds a graduated pharmacist who's lacking in knowledge of not only pharmacology but all the other disciplines that make up pharmacy. If I don't know how people pass through these BSc courses with Es, Ds, "sorting" etc, then I would have assumed any serious studies take place there, but I know better!

As far as I am concerned, BSc degrees in all the "logies" and "mistries" like pharmacology, biochemistry etc impart only little or no knowledge! Come with a PhD and maybe then we can talk!

"What's already accepted worldwide"this is pure wickedness and as it is you just showed us all that this is really what they taught every pharmacy students during their study. And to top it all these set of pple keep derailing pple and changing their mindset about pharmacology. How can you even make a rule and prohibit pple that studied pharmacology and earned various degrees especially those with BSc.degree not to practice drug sale. This is wickedness at its peak, someone that studied the basis of drugs right from their 2nd level in universities and taught every bit of things they need to know during their course of study.Wow! You can imagine, only pharmacists want to rule,we all went to school like you do.If it get to some point you will say pharmacologists work in laboratory and not hospitals I bet you didn't know about clinical pharmacologists. For heaven's sake this is really awkward and absurd, you want them to study for four years, spend almost a million during their course of study.Take me for an example I did jamb and scored 232 but unfortunately got 42% in PUTME that's sad as it seems cos I opted for medicine as first choice and pharmacy as second choice.I didn't got admission through jamb till date and was never offered any course in BMS.It was after sometime I learnt that a guy who got 204 and 32% was offered anatomy even tho he chose medicine as 1st choice and pharmacy as 2nd choice just like me.I later learnt from someone that "if you no get leg you no fit enter uni".I didn't gave up and still went on to do JUPEB .I was given pharmacology anyway but unfortunately I made my parents bankruptee all because of "making it in life".We spent almost N600,000,for jst a year programme. And later got admission(thanks to God for his grace, amstill thanking him for that till date because I know he will never fail me) and still went through mates like us calling us D.E student(Half bake students as they call us).I can't believe the school too tagged us bastard and make us pay school fees like the fresh students(paying high fees)we even paid the acceptance. Now am in 400l after spending 100k+ each for the 3 levels(200L,300L,400L).I can't believe with all this you still want me to graduate and end in a laboratory especially in Nigeria, what a pity! You want me to sit down and make drugswhen even you that pple termed as superior professionals as you people call it can't even make....And lastly my question is if you were in my shoes and ended up in a laboratory as a pharmacologist. What will be your service to pple in exchange for money....Who will patronize you?Give them drugs you madePharmacists that say pharmacologist cannot work in a hospital after studying the pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic, origin, therapeutic use, toxicological effect of drugs are BEASTS!....People commits suicide after reading your interviews, articles about the uselessness of pharmacology.Stop it!
What a nice story but the end of it all is that you guys can't do drug sales nor manufacture drugs.

This is totally wrong you can't know more than a major in his field. That's why pfizer employs Pharmacologist with PhD. But a a degree level no, it's their major, they know more.

From my findings online, it seems pharmacology is a branch of pharmacy.

But does that necessarily mean it is inferior to pharmacy? I'll say no. Why?

Many times when a course is extracted from parent course and becomes independent, it's because the scope of the child-course has grown beyond the parent-course.

What am I saying? I'll give a few examples.

- Geology is basically an aspect of Geography known as geomorphology. But today, geology is beyond the traditional geomorphology. It's scope has widened and deepened that when a geologist is talking in his field, an ordinary geographer can only look-on. Many topics have been added to it from chemistry, physics, mathematics and stuff.

- Another example is Urban and Regional Planning. It's basically an aspect of human geography but today URP is even more respected than it's father (geography). It has borrowed topics from ecology, government, fine art, economics, law etc.

I hope this helps.
It helps but you are wrong sir.
