No,you are wrong.
Did people in Africa start getting ARVs for free in 2017?
So how can someone say "if not for Bill Gates,Africans would bla bla bla...."
The company that changed the narrative for ARVs and
PLWHIV in Africa is Cipla, not anybody else.
They started doing so as far back as the 90s.
No one ever complained about their $1 dollar a day medication,so Bill Gates doing some unwarranted philantropy was on his own in this.
Give credit where it is due, learn that, know that.

I see your point.

Prior to the 2000s, there were $1 a day antiretrovirals courtesy of Cipla.

I don't know nearly enough to say they are living or non-living but I find the subject very intriguing.

And scientists don't know everything, they also sometimes change their minds in the light of new knowledge

Your reference to Zombie movies is quite hilarious hahaha.
oluwaseunla:

Scientists still classify them as non - living, even when they do all those. This is because they cannot keep themselves in a stable state, they don't grow, they cannot make their own energy.

They are not even regarded as cells, more like androids. That is because they don't have a nucleus (despite having a genetic material), no ribosome, no mitochondrion. These are all features of a living cells and viruses don't have them. The only thing they do is to replicate, and that is only done by taking over the host.

Think of it this way, remember those zombie movies by Hollywood, would you describe the zombies as living things despite taking over their host population? It's similar to that.

The people who died in Spain and Italy probably didn't use hand sanitizers, nose masks and hand gloves

I'll still stand that the lockdown should be kept. It's my opinion. Whosoever wants to faint because of it should do so ASAP.

Let them lift the lockdown so we all can go and eat. That's all that matters for now

A rich noble man in Nigeria died.. He was half Indian and half Edo...He was so selfless and stinkingly wealthy, he died 01/10/1992. He had just one beautiful wife from Imo State, A spoilt son, One pretty house-maid, A loyal gate-man and a good driver.

Police men went to the house and interrogated them one after another.

Wife -: I left my hubby peacefully at home during breakfast oooo and while I was partying with my friends since it was our annual meeting hang out, the maid called me that oga was in his own pool of blood lifeless then I came home.

Maid -: Before madam comot for house, she send me go market to buy foodstuffs. As I come back na him I see oga body for sitting room, oga don die..

spoilt son-: I was out with my friends in the next hood playing PS4 when my phone rang that my dad was dead.. I rushed home and met his body

Driver-: I am so confused, early this morning oga sent me to the bank to withdraw some cash and I was shocked to have returned and met his lifeless body. OMG!!!

Gateman -: I be dey sleep for my gateman house as I work over night then for my sleep I hear the housemaid shout. Na him I wake up, I come run enter main house see say my oga body dey for ground with blood..

The police men laughed and arrested the murderer.

Question ? Who killed oga and prove it?

So case close. Every October 1st is independence day.
So the driver is the main suspect.

Na today u sabi say school proprietors and appropriateness including their teachers are scammers? They do nothing other than baby seat for parent trust me. At the close of school they give assignment to children to take home for their parents to do.

I no more read my engineering or simulation text books anymore na children textbook and assignment I spend all my spare times at home doing.

at this moment since our universities both private and public cant find a vaccines against the virus, we have to practice what other countries did and that is lock down and social distancing.

We dont have the resources against mass infection, if everyone is infected, where is the hospitals that will treat them. sincerely speaking it will be a bad thing if people began to die up and down, even WHO will blame Nigeria for not protecting her citizens.

We are not china, Italy or USA, we do not have the resources like that but we can do what they did to stop the spread and that is enforcing social distancing and making sure people stay in their houses and only come out for essential purchase till a drop in cases happens

Money is good but also health is important
This is just like having type A question in an exam and copying answers from someone with type B.
All these developed countries didn't just ask their people to sit at home, they provided support to ensure their survival
Lockdown comes at a price, and our government cannot afford it. Shikenah

When Bill gates want it to be? undecided
Most of HIV drugs were made easily available to Africans thanks to Bill Gates? Are you sure about this?
Go and read up on Cipla,an Indian pharmaceutical giant.
They are the reasons why a lot of people with HIV are still alive by knocking flat the price for as low as $1 a day or less.
You think if ARVs were still going for what western companies inflated them to go for,you think governments will be able to give it free to the afflicted?
Where does Bill Gates even fill-in in all of this? undecided
I have been reading silently and I noticed you aren't as informed as you want people to think you are.
Cc radautoworks, come carry your friend ooo

next time, carry your pen and papers and interview Doctors in Nigeria

Who fought polio in Nigeria?
who made Hiv/ Drugs cheaper in Nigeria, who donated and set up set up the AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria
Where do Ngos in Nigeria get most of their funding from?
Who is funding most of the research of Hiv in Nigeria?
Who is donating PrEP and making them free of charge to Nigerian?
Who set up the policy framework and National guideline for HIV in Nigeria

anyway, let me give you the answer? The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

I guess you think the CIPLA generic HIV drugs is free of charge to Nigeria?CIPLA is a private company and theirjob is to make profit not donate, CIPla do not invent any Hiv drug, most of their drugs are just copies of western brand-name

Since 2006 Nigeria government has provided free antiretroviral to people having Hiv thanks to bill gates foundation who have been donating and making govt have access to western hiv drugs free of charge.

If you had HIV, do you think, you will go for an Indian generic drug or a western ones

I am tired of the lockdown as well but I don't think it's time for the lockdown to be called off...

To those saying the lockdown didn't work.....I hope you are right...but I am sure it worked as it showed us an indication of what is ahead....Those people tested so far are those with traveling history and those that came in contact with them...

Can we be rest assured that all those that came in contact has been fully located and tested (definitely No, My neighbor is one of the medical personnel at the isolation centre in onikan..she said Lagos is really under testing...and I ask why she said the test kit are so limited in supply and that ventilators are as well limited).

If the lockdown is called off or relaxed, we all Sabi as Lagos dey....our bus na hustle..bus stop na hustle...market na hustle..church na crowd..mosque crowd..felashrine crowd...qulox crowd....malls crowd....

If people still disobey the lockdown when it was so called in full flight...do u think when it's relaxed or totally called off people will not just go straight to normalcy.

Can any state in Nigeria handle a surge if things go south ( which I pray it doesn't)

Have u watched the channels TV interview with the deputy coordinator for the covid 19 in their state...he said a reported 640 death in one week..though natural death join but we all know something is wrong...that's because their governor is not proactive enough...

What do I suggest.

- This coming week government should make effort to create local response team in all local government and train personnel to Man those centres...every local government has office already ..that can be achieved in a week...they will deploy trained personnel from the isolation centres and general hospital with adequate PPEs

- Full sensitisation at local level...A team of people go into street with their mega phone...and share safety tips and proper explanation and maybe a small pamphlet with pictures.

- Those centres at local level will be there to test and absorb if any case arise and might be transferred to a mother centre (Onikan, IDH and any other created ) in case of severe issues.

- Government should as well invest in Test kit and ventilators atleast divert some more money to the health sector...

All this is attainable in two weeks....Then the government can relax the lockdown ...But forget it relaxing the lockdown is like suspending it...We all know our kind of mentality in Nigeria here...

My humble Opinion
Well laid out
God bless u sir
