Very likely.

Reduced number of cases means that the rate of testing have drastically reduced. Ncdc is losing pace and politics is now encroaching into the whole process.

You can tell me that nasarawa state that shares border with Abuja is yet to report a case. I know that not even a chicken have been tested in nasarawa state.

Nigerians need to observe how countries like Senegal had effectively mobilized their indigenous medical researchers and manufacturers to produce low cost quick testing kits as well as ventilators while investing massively in the production of drugs for treatment of COVID-19 patients.

I have asked over and over again, why is the academia and private sector left out of the Covid-19 war team.

This is not a job for politicians but people well versed in dealing with similar challenges. We need the CSO's involved. Not sharing money for politicians in the name of fighting the Pandemic.

Osinbanjo needs to speak up now and draft a Covid-19 recovery plan which will include testing, isolating and treating infected ones, to providing stimulus for people and businesses.

Enough of the joke.

Lockdown means nothing without testing, isolating and treating infected ones

You overate your government.

Academia are on strike because of a payment platform.

NCDC does not have the capacity to test on a large scale so the isolation and treatment of infected people is a moot point.

FG is broke. Oil prices have plummeted, no oil sales, little or no IGR because businesses have been on lockdown too.

Providing palliatives to the poor and stimulus to businesses is apparently a difficult thing for the FG.

That's why its important to lift restrictions/lockdown, open state borders and kickstart the economy.

Despite Lock Down The Case Is Still Still Increasing...What If There Is No Lock Down? Please How Many Weeks Or Months Does The Virus Stay In The Body Before Killing The Victim??
it incubation period in the body is 2-14 days, depending on your immune system some might start seeing signs at day 5 while others will remain asymptomatic till day 14 but within this period they could spread the virus to people they come in contact with who don't observe the standard procedure of prevention. About the killing part, if you showed sign quickly go for testing to know if its actually covid-19 and then call the ncdc toll free line or if you could make your way there without coming in contact with anyone to prevent further spread that also will be OK that will prevent death but people with compromised immunity have a higher chance of mortality because of underlining ailment, recent study has also shown that the virus could stay up to 37 days in the human body that is typical in what we saw in atiku's son case. But in all please stay safe and if anyone is showing signs which people hardly want others to know just encourage the person to go for testing, covid-19 is not a death sentence, people have been infected and they recovered.

Once again, just as we have said. That the lock down will be eased while cases are on the rise. Nigeria will be the first to do this and will be a global experimental model. Folks who cannot be locked down will not social distance nor wear face masks in public. We are heading for an uncertain outcome.

This is the product of lack of foresight, lack of intellectual capacity on the the part of those who take key decisions in Nigeria and lack of introspection. I said it in February. There are certain things which will not be recoverable nor repairable. Covid 19 is the great revealer of intents and competencies.

You know very little about this pandemic. You are talking about peaking based on what statistic? You are talking about peaking based on how many inquiries (tests), sampling volume and distribution? In Nigeria what we have done statistically is next to insignificant. And it is from statistics conclusions are drawn, not from emotions.

It is like a VIO officer says every car is road worthy or an FRSC officer claims to his boss that every Nigerian has a drivers license because he has checked ten vehicles and drivers since January.

How can you make auch a damning conclusion on such paltry number of samples. Like I asked last week. Can you make an important business investment decision when you have leass that 0.05 percent of the data at hand. Will you spend the only money you have in the bank to buy those eggs to raise poultry chicks if you are told only 0.05 percent of them have been tested for sterility.... nawa oh.

But, the funny thing is we still have allocations in Billions for North East Development Commission, NDDC, buying cars for Senators etc.

At this time, all resources should be channelled towards containing the virus. If we do not keep people at home or working under guided conditions, the virus spreads. If we are not finding away to boost testing at cheap rates, it spreads. If we are not testing and isolating infected ones, we are failing.

It is about coordinating all efforts to curb the virus. If it takes pay cuts, do it. If it takes channelling funds to the academia and private sectors do it.

The last thing I want to hear is that we should rely on an inefficient Lockdown that will not work. Relying on that is a recipe for disaster.

Where I will completely agree with you is that I am overrating the government because it is clear they are lost.

How can this government have a budget of N60 Billion set aside for the employment of Gutter cleaners and then want us to believe no money for a Comprehensive War Against Covid-19 programme? It is baffling.

Why not channel this money appropriately. If Senegal can target producing 2 million kits to test, it is a big lie making us believe we can not do it. It is just the wrong pilot on the Covid-19 war battle plane.

N60 Billion set aside for Government Gutter cleaners is best channeled for Covid-19 fight. From Local production of kits most especially, drugs and stimulus packages.

We still have the $50 million from EU which I think is about N22 billion. A discussion with the CACOVID can also release funds.

I doubt funds is the problem but preferential use of it to optimum results.

I begi, these are all bullshit reports especially from Nigeria. Yes Nigeria, there are many people with no effect of covid-19 that are asthmatic patients and aged people with illness that are pronounced covid-19 patient . Why ? Even some of them wouldn't be properly attended to. Instead of our government to take a step on looking for a cure , motivate our dear physicians, doctors to go on a research, to looking for a way out, they take delight in Motivating NCDC to manipulate figures on covid-19. Everywhere lockdown, no effective palliatives, only the northerners are benefiting more on this, Share cash via registered BVN, No!, instead, they are collecting donations here and there , even collecting loan join. Some countries out there had already made their cash transfer to all their citizens even foreigners I'm their country receives same amount. Whereas, an ex- CBN governor in the country said Nigeria is capable of crediting about 11million Nigerians #30,000 each. But our honourable minister of finance said they can't do that. People are starving, all over the country. What a big shame!!! Even the holy bible tells us that eat for the Journey is far, but our leaders said no food, nothing nothing for the masses, stay at home and die. They know the better ways to conquer this acts but would rather not do it. My message to all our dear and capable Politicians, please, save this country from future destruction. When u die , u can't take all you've gathered to the grave. Think about this. Most people are suffering. Do the needful and stop tossing people of great integrity in this country around. We are not fools, we are not dogs. But let me say this, MARK MY WORDS TODAY!
A DAY IS COMING IN THIS COUNTRY WHEN ALL THIS SELFISH LEADERS WILL LOST ALL THEY HAVE GATHERED IN A DAY! And there will be no any other way to retrieve them back! Because you had already stepped on innocent toes too far.

No you know very little about this pandemic. you working with the Europeans numbers. Contries well integrated socially and economically. We are not as integrated with Europe and china as you think..hence there high numbers.

it's no coincidence that Africa as a whole present consistently low figures. Not only nigeria.have you counter those claims?. There is a pattern at play with Africa and it's consistent enough for me to draw conclusion. Some state in negeria have less than 5 case. And others have non. It's not as wide spread.

Yes there are still cases out there but if we decipline ourselves with good safety culture we are good. China is opening as well as gemany. However you see it they yet to test the whole population.
