Bomgirl: Maybe they botched the ultrasound, it's common knowledge that most USS are not performed by qualified sonographers. But my question is why do ultrasound three times in only one facility? All I can say is that hospital has some questions to answer though. 1 Like |

funmisticqueen2: Some babies hide their genitals o. It's there but their position makes it impossible for the sonographer to see it. When I was pregnant with my son, I went for a scan and my guy was asleep. All the probings , he refused to wake and turn over. The man said he'd give me a discount for my next scan cos that one was a waste. But I think this their story has too many loopholes sha . 1 Like |

Neddyogu: They really do. Something is not adding up sha. In Abuja here, there was a case like this. When they called the hospital to the studio, the matron made a statement that she tried covering up but it didn't work. She said as the CS was going on, she was given one baby to take out, when she came in for the second baby, the doctor said they only saw one baby. The radio host was asking her so when you open a belle, is it impossible to see the two babies? Do you need to remove one to see the other?? Arguements here and there. I don't know how it later ended sha. |
Re: Woman Accuses St Raphael Hospital Ikorodu Of Stealing One Of Her New Born Twins by Bomgirl(f): 3:51pm On Apr 28, 2020 |
Neddyogu:To answer your USS question, in my hospital, they refer you to do scan and you do it there. So it's possible to do all your scans only there. Unlike some of us that are scan freaks and always run to private labs to see our babies do somersault, some people only do at the hospital and that's all. |

Bomgirl: When a cs is done, it's not like the whole abdomen is cut wide open naa, the nurse was the wrong person to ask dat question. Why did d radio host not direct the question to a surgeon? 1 Like |
Re: Woman Accuses St Raphael Hospital Ikorodu Of Stealing One Of Her New Born Twins by Bomgirl(f): 4:10pm On Apr 28, 2020 |
Neddyogu: He was asking them one after the other. That nurse indicted them. And the mum in question said even at her last scan, she was told she was carrying twins. When he asked the surgeon, the man said the scan said twins but when they opened, they saw one. Then blamed it on obsolete equipments in the hospital. |
Re: Woman Accuses St Raphael Hospital Ikorodu Of Stealing One Of Her New Born Twins by Neddyogu(m): 4:15pm On Apr 28, 2020 |
Bomgirl: This boils down to the unreliability of the USS either due to obsolete scanners or gross incompetence or inexperience on the part of whomever did d scans in the first place. Moreover, they should find out if the couple have a family history of multiple gestations. |

Similar thing happened in Gwagwalada Teaching Hospital sometime last year. The woman's file was brought ,the Doctor who usually attend to her and the CMD confirmed she was pregnant with twins.Exactly like this woman she saw two children and even saw when the baby boy was taken out of the theatre leaving the baby girl behind. It was discovered that the boy was sold for 5million naira. So far I don't know the status of the case. |

ridbell01: Oga we are in same community with the Complianant.... CDA chairman hired lawyer for the family and when it was obvious there was not stolen baby but a cases of human error in scanning CDA pulled out ... However they feel they have a case to make money... They should continue ... Obviously they are gunning for money not baby. For a former staff who talks trash about FORMER place of work... Is that one new... ?Maybe you should find out if she was sacked or discharged or incompetent... The hospital is a "Specialist" hospital in Ikorodu. It is not out of place to always see complicated cases.. I know how well they bring in surgeons and co as far away from Ubth... Including the Gynecologist that delivery who is not a "Full time" staff of the hospital. So much trash I av read here.... Let the woman go to court and let's hear word since she supposedly have a case. 1 Like |

eRex:guy I am beginning to suspect you for defending this people like this. Is that the only hospital in Ikorodu? this is hospital that someone said she delivered there and all of them that delivered that day were through Cs. This is hospital people called in this morning to complain about on wazobiafm today. |

ridbell01: Suspicion suspicion... That what everybody does.. NO BODY WANT TO HEAR THE HOSPITAL VERSION. SINCE THE WOMAN CRIED FOUL... SOCIAL MEDIA JUDGEMENT IS PASSED ALREADY. Read thru my post other post if you have time. Even if you run a business you will find it easy to get dissatisfied customer who will jump on social media and every podcast to throw blames.. Back to your post .... I'm not talking out of hand I use the hospital too via HMO.. - Have I been dissatisfied at one point or the other... yes. - I have also enjoyed certian services ... Also yes. THE COMPLAINANT IN QUESTIONS IS WELL KNOWN IN THE COMMUNITY. YOU GUYS ARE JUST HEARING THE STORY. WE HAVE HEARD THE STORY SINCE MARCH. BECAUSE EVERYBODY IS CALLING IN TO COMPLAIN DOESNT AUTOMATICALLY MAKE THE HOSPITAL GUILTY OF STEALING THE COMPLAINANT BABY 1 Like |

Bomgirl: The cut on the uterus during a caesarean isn't always a large one. You cannot see the 2 babies at once, because you're not slicing the womb open from top to bottom to expose its contents. You just make a small cut big enough for the head to pass through, and once you bring the baby out, and the womb is empty, then you can see the inside better. If another baby is there, you will see and bring out otherwise you will just be looking at the empty space I will post a simulated video of one for you. And remember, in real life there will be more blood everywhere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkxwN8xQz80 4 Likes |

ridbell01: It doesn't really mean anything that 6 people delivered via csection in a day. The numbers will include both planned elective cases and emergencies of those who started labour and couldn't make it on their own, some would also have a failed induction and it would be converted to an emergency caesarean section. All planned elective surgeries are booked on days the surgeon will be around, so atimes they may book 4 cases for that day. They may add on emergencies to their list as the day goes by and the emergencies will take priority 1 Like |

Binedengwu: Such nonsense can't happen in a teaching hospital. Do you knownhow the theatre is always busy in a teaching hospital? You will have at least 2 nurses on ground, like 2 anasthetists, at least 2surgeons, and then the many of the staff that clean the floors, those that are moving patient in and out of the theatre from the ward Infact, the theatre is a very busy place where people are always moving about like ants. For a place that's supposed to be "sterile", there's too many people. But everyone is important to make things flow well. You'll be surprised that up to 10 people can be in the theatre and the outside area during a surgery. You cannot bribe all of those 10 people Private hospitals don't have that luxury of staff, so they may not have as many staff on ground, but definitely not a teaching hospital. General hospitals too may not have as much but will have at least one of these staff on . ground. Minimum for private and general hospital staff will be at least 4 people around at night. Daytime, more people are around. 2 Likes |

The major problems Nigerian Drs have is communications and carrying their patients along. I think the sonographer may not be a qualified one, and if it's the same sonographer that did the scans, then I would say the sonographer messed up. If it were 2 or 3 different people that did the scan, then the Drs have themselves to blame especially for not informing the woman's relatives immediately they didnt find a second baby. Drs need to always Carry their patients along , every step of the way otherwise na wahala 1 Like |
