Please, my laptop just stopped working all of a sudden. It didn't fall, neither did water enter.
Whenever I try to put it on, the power light comes on, it keeps blinking and that is it. It does not go further than that

Take out the battery and connect directly to source, turn it on and see if it turns on?

1 Computer Village Laptop Egnr claimed that the Motherboard is bad but I doubt the guy because of his antecedent on my former Old Model Dell Laptop.
Pls if he's correct, what is the price of the Motherboard for my type of Laptop?
Is it advisable to change it or buy brand-new?

HDD is usually located at the back side of your laptop. You will see a rectangular enclosure at bottom (the part that rests on the table) tightened with usually 1 or 2 screws.

If the technician said it's bad, then it is bad.
But you can check other technician to be sure.
The price for your kind of motherboard should be 10k or more. You can even get it cheaper depending on the circumstances involved.

Hi there, feels good to be back. Well I would advise you upgrade your laptop. That is get another laptop. Older generation laptops like your CQ60 tends to develop faults as they age.
Therefore instead of spending more money repairing, just gather more money and buy a higher variant.

All laptop develop fault as they age, In fact there is no guarantee the out of the box laptop won't develop fault after some weeks of usage.

If your laptop doesn't power on then definitely it is bad, did he tell you what happened to the motherboard?
Did he run any test on it?

The price of your laptop motherboard should be around 12-15k depending on the seller though, if you want to get another laptop the choice is up to but know that you will definitely spend more getting another laptop.

If you'm intend getting something better then there is no problem but if you're still going for something similar then fix the board/get another board.

Enter safe mode and see if it will load. If it doesn't load then reinstall the operating system and also sure you always shutdown your laptop properly, abnormal shut down will take a toll on your hard drive sooner or later.

Go to your manage network settings and remove all network there, then connect it again and see.

Also check your phone if you didn't set data cap for hotspot.
Some phone have this feature, if you set it at 50mb or 100mb, immediately your laptop uses the 100mb,it will disconnect but check your laptop network settings first.

1. Check if the graphic is chip is driven.


2. Is it timely shutdown? If no then you need to service it, clean the vent and apply coolant.

3. I believe the windows is activated, in some laptop there are different ways to capture the screen, so try different options then go to Paint (windows startup menu ==paint) and paste(ctrl+v) it there you will see it.

Change boot sequence from bios to cd/usb, get windows operating system on either usb/cd and reload windows........

Well it's up to you, it's either you get a good charger and test it to confirm if fault is from the main charger or thermal sensor error on the motherboard or you take it to a technician for diagnoses.
